Ok so I posted on here about Scott having trouble with little poops and he is eating and drinking and doing way better… only he has a bald patch
Since the little poops we’ve been brushing loads as he seems to be losing loads of hair, like tons!!
We’ve been brushing once a day with a rubber mit brush and yesterday there was no bald spot, today however there is a bald patch just off to the left centre of his spine about the size of an English 10p. The skin is lovely and clear, soft, pink no scabing with a tiny tuft of new hair coming, why did this happen? Did I brush too much? His coat also looks odd at the moment, kind of patchy ? any advice greatly appreciated. Xxx

Sounds like he might just be moulting?

I agree with DFace. Buns can very well molt in patches and get bald spots. As long as the skin is smooth and fine, it’s perfectly normal. Just one of those things buns do to freak new bun owners out. Red pee and the dead bunny flop are other normal bun things that can make your heart almost stop.

It’s good that you brush him a lot, because a bun that molts in big clumps are at risk of ingesting lots of hair in one go, and that can cause a GI blockage.

During molting, if he’s getting vegs, serve them soaking wet for extra hydration of the gut. If he has a water bottle, combine it with a bowl, because they drink more from bowls.

                Thank you very much guys.
Yeah Bam he has a bottle and bowl as we noticed he didn’t drink a lot in hot weather. He’s gonna be the death of me this rabbit lol him or his adopted brother Oscar fish. All my animals are bonkers.
                Much love to all. Xxx

These things still get me something fierce.Red pee is always a bit of heart in mouth moment..til you remember all the beetroot they’ve had..
and my favourite mantra: “Dead or sleeping dead or sleeping?! Oh sleeping…sorry I ruined that adorable moment..”
