I have only had frosty for about a month and a half and recently noticed he has a bald spot on his back. i believe he is a mini rex although i was told he was a regular rex rabbit. At first i thought he was just shedding his baby fur because he was shedding fur from all over his back and thought the spot was a shed line. its not easy to see unless you move the fur out if the way. his other shed lines seem to be fine with no balding. I don’t know if it is just a bald spot he has had since birth or if its mites or just how he sheds. I’m worried that the other spots he seems to be shedding in will go bald as well.

He has not been scratching or biting himself and tends to be lazy when it comes to grooming (but is still well groomed and clean)

Does anybody know what is causing the bald spot? Should i take him to the vet and if so how soon?

Could you attach a picture? Check if there’s any crust or redness. If there is it might be worth taking him to the vet

Some rabbits shed in patches and can get bald spots. As long as the skin is smooth, without vrustiness or flaking, all you have to do is wait for the hair to grow back in. Within ten days you should start seeing a fine short peachy fuzz on the hairless spots.
