My rabbit hasn’t been feeling well for about two days now. Right off the bat, if I could take him to a vet I would in a heartbeat. But I have $4.56 in my bank account and I’m running out of options to the point where I don’t think he’ll make it. I’ve been forcing him to drink water, he won’t eat though. Is giving him water every hour a good thing or too much? He had awful poop the first day, a huge wet blob of dark stinky stuff. It breaks my heart to see him unwell. I’ve been washing his butt off and blow drying it, and I also put a VERY small amount of pepto on his lips and he licked it off. His diet has always been the same, pellets hay, the occasional treat. (He refuses to eat vegetables and fruit for some reason, even before he was sick) Is there any other home remedy? He won’t eat anything. I’m scared I’ll lose him.

Rather than force feeding water that often, offer extra wet veggies. As long as he’s peeing, he’s hydrated.

You’ll want to force feed him critical care if he’s not eating.

Give him simethicone (infant gas drops). I have no idea if Pepto is safe for rabbits, so unless you know for certain, do not give him anymore.

Is his belly making noises you can easily hear without you putting your ear to it? Did you add anything new to his diet or change it in anyway? What’s his diet and how old is he? Does he eat a lot of hay?

I don’t know either if Pepto is rabbit safe. Don’t give any more of it. Simethicone baby gas drops are rabbit safe though. You give 1 ml per hour for three hours, then 0.5 ml every 2-3 hours. But if it hasn’t helped within the first few hours, it probably isnt going to.

If your bun has gas pain (and that’s very likely when a bun has an upset tummy), you can give a light tummy massage like in this really good video with Mary S Cotter:
            https://www.howcast.com/videos/514701-how-to-help-a-rabbit-with-gas-pain-pet-rabbits/

Are his ears cold? If they are, you’ll want to warm him up. You can sit him in your lap with a blanket on him.

If you cant get critical care, you can soak pellets in water and syringe feed the mush to him.

This is a great article with info and tips about what to do if a bun isn’t eating:
