I’ve had my baby bunny Oliver for a week, he is so happy and binkies and licks is, but he isn’t grooming himself. His butt was very dirty so I took him to the vet. She gave us an antibiotic and cleaned his butt. Is this normal behavior for him not to clean himself? His diet is very good and vet approved. The woman we got him from said it’s normal and be will do it eventually but has this happened to anyone else?

I don’t know if it’s normal, but when Luna was young she was a little less kept than she is now as an adult. You could help him with grooming until he learns to do it more – ie. gently wiping his bottom with a warm damp cloth every day.

I’d say to help him out, Like Luna said. My three week old babies are more kept than their mother! help him groom and in a few weeks he doesn’t start cleaning himself then there’s a problem
