I have a 10 week old Bunny and her nails are super sharp!!!! I get scratched up like crazy every time I’m handling her. My hands and arms look like i got into a fight with a cactus and its painful too  I feel like it may be too early to trim her nails. Seems like the quick is very long and not enough nail to cut without getting into the quick. Is there anything else I can do to make them less sharp?

        Any suggestions would be helpful!

I was trying not to respond to this because I have no ideas for you. Sounds like you’ve got a bit of a wild one on your hands. I suspect there’s nothing you can do unless you want to nip off just the very tips, but I think it’s pretty unnecessary most of the time in such a young thing. Even then it may not do much except stress her out and give you more battle wounds.hope she calms down for you

You don’t need to cut her nails until she’s about 6months or so. They will get thicker as she grows. Wear a hoodie and some gloves if you need to. Hold her tight and close when you carry her. I’m not sure about trimming tips, I’ve never done that. Hopefully you can get some better answers but that’s all I’ve got.

If the quick is too close to cut you can’t cut them. I would wait until she needs them done for the first time and take her to the vet and have them show you how to do it. She will need to go in sometime before she’s spayed so that would probably be a good time to ask them to show you.
