I have 2 bunnies netherland dwarfs 9-11 weeks old.  I am feeding them alfalfa based pellets and Oxbow Timothy Hay.  Originally I was feeding them hay given to me by the breeder but it didn’t look good.

Nearly everywhere says to feed them unlimited pellets.  However, they will only eat hay if there are no more pellets.  I’ve tried giving them fresh hay several times a day and putting it into a cardboard tube.  They’ll sniff at it and move some pieces around but just go back to the pellets.

I haven’t tried giving them a variety of hay and I’ll try that next (orchard hay).  I’m thinking about limiting their pellets as well to 4-6 tablespoons a day (2-3 tbsp for each bunny).  Any tips or advice would be appreciated.

Try the different hays. You could also try spreading their pellets into the hay to encourage foraging and nibbling. My buns don’t like timmy hay at all – they like orchard, brome and Powder likes oat but Stickers doesn’t.
