I am looking forward to school too. I know having a 5 day/wk 9-5 job is the avg adult thing to do but it is driving me insane. I want variety. Plus, I want my loan refunds lol.
Last night was the first night since I was dog sitting that Huck wanted to get anywhere close to cuddling. She sat just out of arms length and demanded pets. I hate when they do that. Hopefully her grumpy shed is almost over.

I dread the 5 days a week 9-5 thing too. That’s partially why I like internet selling (but that’s usually more than 12 hour days) and cosmetology. It really lets me make my own schedule. If only I could work in that field enough to support myself.. *daydreaming*

I start late august/early september. I just finished high school so this year will be my first year at college. I’m kind of excited and nervous at the same time. I’ve been told it’s considerably better than high school so I’m just hoping that is the case because I hated high school .

BeccaBerry, London’s weather is similar to Washington state weather. It is rainy most of the year, with some sun.. and when there is sun, it is usually muggy and gross. Ick!

Oh I definitely prefer college to highschool. You chose when your classes are, have a lot more freedom within the requirements, and they tend to be less strict on rules. It’s based on the fact that most teachers assume you are an adult and will have respect for them and not do all the stuff they have rules for in High School. Granted not everyone does.

I want pictures of how many buns chacha beats up before she finds the one Although I can also seeing her finding somebun the first time she meets another bun.

College was probably the only time in my life I ever felt like I belonged somewhere. I loved my professors and all my classmates were so nice. Things are so much different than high school, which was a nightmare for me. This is going to sound sad, but I sometimes wish I could go back just so I could feel like I belong again. Grad school hasn’t been so good to me, so undergrad life is pretty attractive from where I’m standing now.

I’m spending lots of time with Bunjamin right now. I need bunny snuggles. Even if they are just to get a treat out of me. My great uncle is getting worse. I had another “friend” cancel on me basically (except she didn’t tell me- she’s just MIA with no contact whatsoever) this is getting too common. I think I have like 3 IRL friends left :/ OH and I’m in a fight with my princess of a sister. I feel like I’m losing control and that’s the only reason me and her are in a fight because she is trying to control what color my hair is for her wedding. My point being, she wouldn’t ask my brother or my dad to shave their facial hair, why should she get an opinion on my haircolor? And she didn’t even ask! She just said I couldn’t to my mom and I told her she can’t make me do anything with my hair. I was trying to be sensitive to her feelings but what a back-fire. End rant. Sorry

Peppy – Yeah, that is how undergrad was. Well, not the no assignments and showing up to class being optional. But we all pretty much knew each other and we always had a lot of fun. The professors were great, some even a little goofy. We were just one big happy family. Grad school has been completely different for me. I have met a few friendly people, but it is difficult to have classes with them all the time. Some of them I am I quite fond of actually. There have been a few professors that are nice, but most certainly won’t do you any favors. I was basically just thrown in there, with little guidance. I floundered a bit, trying to figure out where I belonged. I know my adviser wants to get rid of me, he just doesn’t want to be my adviser anymore. I got left high and dry in the money department. I’ve been pretty much abandoned. So yeah, grad school has really sucked for me. I’m glad you are enjoying medical school. It must be nice having the close knit family feeling.

Thanks everyone! And thanks for the hugs. I’ve decided I’ll just do as I please with my hair. The worst she can do is throw me out of the wedding party but I know she won’t do that because I’ve already done so much for the wedding and well we’re family. I’ve always had non-traditional colors in my hair. Right now I have a spectrum of pink and purple in one side and blue/green on the other. My base color is blonde and I put brown low-lights in too. This is not what I was planning to do for her wedding btw.. I was thinking a deep red with my usual brown and blonde mix but she heard red and was like eeeh no. And made a face <like that.
I know it sounds crazy but it’s always done very tastefully. I am picky because I do hair too.

Frankie, I think your hair looks great! I was wondering if it was going to be a hot pink mohawk or something, but a splash of color on the ends looks really nice. I’ve always wanted to put some bright streaks in my hair but have never gone through with it. My hair is dark brown.

When my older brother got married several years ago he threw a fit because I insisted on wearing sunglasses. He got married on a VERY sunny day on the beach and my dad told him to shut up about it. My thinking was, sorry – but wouldn’t it be better to have me in some well-fitting sunglasses, happily smiling, rather than squinting and looking pissed because I can’t see and the light hurts my eyes? The first half of the pics everyone but me is squinting. Half way through the photography session, the rest of the bridal party and our relatives all pulled out their sunglasses too and everyone looks awesome and is smiling! I bet your hair will match the flowers at your sister’s wedding so she may end up thanking you in the end, haha.

FrankieFlash, I just have to add to the “hair in wedding photos” discussion. My eldest brother got married when our other brother was about 20 and I was about 15. Bob, middle brother and the best man, had straight brown hair down to his shoulders. I had wavy brown hair down to my shoulders. Well, the thing in our family is that the baldness runs via my mother’s side, and sure enough, my bro Bob was bald by the time he was 25. We have these great pix of him from the wedding. And when his sons years later were old enough to see them, they could not believe their father had all that hair!!!! My parents let him grow as much and as long as he wanted, because they knew it was his only chance. I love my family.

Well the gowns will be pewter silver :/ BUT that’s where I was going with the red. To match the roses. It’s a winter wedding. I put purple in my hair for my brothers because his colors were purple and yellow. I think the only reason I’m having to deal with this is I was a minor for my brother’s wedding so I had to ask my mom’s permission and then she made me ask his wife. But I’m an adult now. I’ve been doing these colors for 5+ years. To me, it’s weird not to do what I want for just some pictures. Who knows, I might rock these colors into my 40s

When I was young I worked as a receptionist at a beauty salon and also sold cosmetics (Shiseido and Ralph Lauren – RL’s line is now defunct) and had the fun and funky hairdo’s – this was the 80’s as well, so that probably tells you alot (Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, new wave music and MTV). I once had a gorgeous B-52 style do with black in the back and platinum bangs. I did the blue and purple hair – I mean I loved it, but I didn’t show much mercy for others when it came to my hair – yes, they forgave me, but probably in retrospect, I might have been a little less selfish about it.

Aww, I wish I’d had an opportunity to do crazy things to my hair color! My mom refused to let me dye my hair when I was in high school, and from college onward I’ve had to maintain a pretty strict/conservative professional appearance…which is no fun at all haha.  I’ve even seen a classmate sent home because her nail polish color was “unprofessional”…eek.  I do lighten my hair a bit from black to a dark reddish brown though. It’s not much, but it’s all I can do.

It sounds silly but I decided a long time ago not to do pink bc it would clash but the red I’m thinking would be tasteful and match. My sister is being so blatantly selfish lately, we’ve always been close but I am a little shocked by what kind of person she is growing up to be. My aunt is visiting from Montreal and won’t be back until spring, it’s her birthday so tomorrow we’re having a family barbecue. My sister refuses to go because she wants to hang out with her boyfriend, whom she is already spending the entire day with today. She hasn’t seen my aunt once since she’s been here. She literally told me “I don’t want to go unless he is there. Grandma and grandpa need to do something for me if I’m going to do something for them.” Ugh! It’s not about you, it’s about our aunt! 

Also, she has officially decided that our grandparents have burdened her with the horseback riding lessons and her own horse that she asked for. She says she hates it and it’s an annoyance to her, she doesn’t want the horse anymore. I get it, it’s fine is she doesn’t enjoy horseback riding anymore but she can graciously thank them and appreciate the opportunity she has been given, she made the commitment to responsible for the horse and she need to fulfill that, and she doesn’t need to be ungrateful. Poor Primrose! She didn’t do anything wrong!  I know she’s only 16 (almost 17), but she should be mature by now I would think, I’m 18 (hardly an adult) and I feel like she and I are on waaaay different maturity levels.

I never really experienced it when I was 16 (My mum says I was always mature for my age, don’t know about that but hey I’ll take the compliment) but I’ve noticed a lot of people around that age are behaving a little brattish these days :/ put us good young kids to shame .

Cinnabunmom, High school was eh for me. One of the fun things about high school is that I met my boyfriend there. I miss the carefree atmosphere of high school, and also the sub sandwiches. The cafeteria food was half decent!

Haha, yes, nail polish is not acceptable in my Clinical Procedure class at college. I’m going into the medical field, and the professionals have to be conservative/neutral, so it isn’t allowed. All clinics are different, but my teacher just wants us to get into the habit of it. I haven’t painted my nails in 6 weeks, so I painted my toe nails a teal color I am going to try the bunny nail tutorial when I am done with classes for summer quarter! My current part time job as a cashier, nobody cares what color your fingernails are, or if your tattoos are showing, haha.

ChaCha: yes, it makes sense why some jobs have to maintain that “conservative” image. Understandable. Which is why I rebelled against ever having to have a “grown up” and decided I could be that super cool professor who wears jeans and has students over for dinner and sits on tables, cross-legged, discussing some arcane fact that no one in their right mind cares about. *my academic pursuits are wearing me out. Can you tell?* *20 days and counting until the start of my second year*

Hahaha, I don’t mind at all. My tattoos are in places that nobody can see, unless I wear clothing that reveals them. I’m pretty happy that I’ll get to wear scrubs everyday to work in the future. I don’t like my work uniform at my current job.. I just want to be comfortable

I bought home a few bags of groceries from work and Chacha bun sniffed out the one bag full of vegetables that had her name on it She started eating the lettuce up, and I had to take it away, clean it and give it back to her. I picked up a head of butter lettuce to have her try.

Tomorrow, I’m going to the farmer’s market to see what kind of unusual vegetables I can find. I’m gonna print out the HRS list of recommended vegetables to see if the market has any that Chacha has not tried.

Cinnabun – The thought of being a professor has crossed my mind before. I don’t think I could make it through a PhD though and the thought of trying to get a job as a professor scares me. I remember them hiring a new professor at my school (undergrad) and they has two interviews with the department heads and he had to give a sample lecture for some students and he had to give a presentation on his research interests. It was a lot of hoops. He was up against two other people wanting the job too.

I don’t think I could be a professor…I tutored/TAed in college and enjoyed teaching, but I just don’t really like research. Chacha – haha half the time I go to the grocery store I end up standing there with my phone looking at the HRS veggie list and seeing what new veggie I could get for Peppy. You like scrubs? They’re not my favorite..though our scrubs vending machine in the hospital is pretty cool haha.

Unfortunately I don’t have money and definitely not any adequate land for one =/ I’ve been dying to go horseback riding lately though. For a few years now, I’ve been asking to go horseback riding for my birthday and each time, someone says they’ll take me but never follows through!

Wow! All this talk of PHD’s and degrees of other things, I wish I could go to college! lol. Though I think what I want to do as a career, it’s not as necessary for me. I’m hoping to be an artist, sort of freelance I suppose you could say. Basically have my own studio and paint whatever I like as well as requests from other people, such as a portrait of their pet(s)
I went to an interview for an art institute in my area, was really cool! But unfortunately was pretty far out of my price range =/ But I do have lots of respect for people who do go through college. It’s a lot of work, good luck

Mimzy, higher education is priced crazy. I wish that it was regulated in someways. The only way that I could get an education is through a grant that I received based upon my income. I found it by freak accident through the program coordinator at the community college I now attend. So you do pet portraits? Cool!! Have you gotten customers that have rabbits?

I think I am coming down with a cold. I sure hope that it isn’t There have been many sick customers coming through my line. I use sanitizer on my hands afterward and wash my hands on break. Sigh, I’m going to take some NyQuli tonight before bed as a precaution.

Peppy, yes, I love scrubs There is a scrub machine at your school?! How does that work? Can you get different colors from it?

I am currently studying for my clinical procedure check offs that are on Monday. I have to be able to correctly take and record vital signs, set up a pap tray, help the patient on the exam table and get them set up for the pap to be done by the doctor, and to explain how to do a self breast exam. Wish me luck

From reading all of these I now realise how lucky I am! Because I live in Scotland I get free education up to as high a level I like – providing I’m advancing higher up the ladder in education. I wouldn’t be allowed to do one thing until I had a degree and then start something completely new. If I wanted to do that then I’d need to pay. I just sort of took it for granted before.

Uni/college prices in UK have gone up by 3x the amount since the past year. So from 3,000 a year to about 9,000  Sickening!  Do you not get student loans that go towards college etc in US? I have to work 2 jobs to pay towards my rent and groceries etc it’s so expensive! I literally am so tired all the time =( I’ve been working full time during the day and then working straight after at a sports bar/pub so been doing a lot of 14 hour shifts without a break. *dies*

In my school situation, I got almost full tuition as an undergrad and then had some grants (don’t have to pay back) and loans (have to pay back once all done with school). But then I spent two years doing language training and didn’t get any kind of school loans, so I had to do it all through private loans and it SUCKED. I’m in so much debt, I can’t even think about it without getting hysterical. I’ve always had jobs during school too, though, like you. I worked 3 as an undergrad and 2 during my language training and now as a grad student, obviously, I teach. I was/am exhausted most of the time, too.

Chacha – haha half the time I go to the grocery store I end up standing there with my phone looking at the HRS veggie list and seeing what new veggie I could get for Peppy. You like scrubs? They’re not my favorite..though our scrubs vending machine in the hospital is pretty cool haha.

My degree is in Ancient History/Early Christian Studies. I LOVE research, even if it does take up most of my existence. I have many (many many) years to go. I’m finishing up my MA this year and then hopefully it’s on to PhD land, though I’ve been a little lax in my research of schools this summer.

Wow. That’s impressive CM. I’m just trying to finish my associates in Business until I find my new “dream” career. My original one was to be a cosmetologist, and I did and I was happy all of 4 months until my knee got messed up again and I spent 5 months on Vicodin then eventually I had another surgery on it. That crashed that dream. My health isn’t good enough for a physically demanding job. I feel lucky that my BF just recently in May got his dream job. It started off as an internship making iPhone apps but the boss man is talking about making it full time with a pay raise He started making double what he did as retail so I think I might faint if it increases anymore He has quite a bit of debt though so it’s really great for him. Now I just got to get my act together.

FF: The longest I was ever separated from Cinnabun was about 12 hours when I went to a concert and camped out the day of. I was so stressed the entire time, wondering how she was, how much she hated me cause I wasn’t there…it was very distracting.

Cinnabun – wow, that sounds really neat! I took Latin for a few semesters in college, as well as a few Classics classes for fun and I really enjoyed it. History is just so fascinating to me, but I’m terrible at the actual classes haha. I feel like I would love research in that field too, but research in my field is a little different..

Beckaberry, 3 thousand for college?!?! That is considerably cheap. The bump to 9,000 a year is a lot at one time. The instate colleges here in Washington vary from 6-9 thousand a year. Some colleges love getting out of state students, as the out of state students have to pay more. My boyfriend went to a private, out of state college, and it cost over $30,000+ for one year. I cannot even imagine that -_- That is half my income for the entire year at my current job =/

I just got back from the farmer’s market with my Dad. I bought watermelon, fennel (for my diva), bi-color corn, and some carrots with the tops. I went to different stands looking for the best looking carrots possible. I paid a dollar extra for this carrot bunch, but the tops were huge o_O The diva is going to have fun tonight with her buffet. I bought her butter lettuce from my job last night and she enjoyed a little piece of it. So I will add more to her buffet tonight.

 

I went on vacation for 4 days a few years ago, and Chacha was not pleased. My dad fed her on the exact times I told him to and everything . I called to check in, and he said that she tried to hop the baby gate. Maybe she was looking for me? When I got home, she gave me the cold butt/shoulder and refused to give me kisses, even though I came back bearing gifts for her..

I’m officially sick -_- It isn’t too bad, but I want to get my quiz done for one of my classes. So I’m going to take a nap and take the quiz.

Tuition at my undergrad college was about $21,000 a year. I think it has gone up now. It is a private college though, so that is why. I’m not sure what the state university is for undergrads since I am a grad student. I used to have my tuition waived, but now I’m stuck taking out a loan so I can finish. Cinnabun, I’m with you. I cry just thinking about how much money I owe and how little money I’m probably going to make (if I ever find a job when I’m done).

You guys are giving me a heart attack here! xD  Talking about all the varying prices of colleges. =p  @LoveChaCha And I thought my old college was insane!

The private college I had gone to for a semester before transferring out because they raised tuition was 24,000$. >.< I'm currently at a CC since there's a credit requirement before transferring into a UC. (Yay Florida for having dumb rules.) The UC I'm looking at is about 19,000 if I plan to do room and board. Which would be a no. =p I'm not a dorm person. I did that at the private college and just about killed my roommates. I grew up with an older brother and did not know how to interact with the other girls since I had mostly guy friends growing up.

I’ve had to leave my bun two times now for two weeks at a time each. Once to visit my Dad since he can’t travel and another to pick my mom up from Orlando and spend time there. I was heartbroken having to leave Skipper. I called my BF’s mom who was watching her constantly asking if she was pooping and eating. xD

@CinnabunMom You are so lucky you have the patience to teach older ages! I would go crazy trying to be a professor. I would probably be the mean lippy professor because I can’t stand the attitudes or excuses. >.<

As for paying for college, my BF went to Carnegie Mellon and he’s paying back a good $60,000 for one year of school. And then times that by 5 for his whole degree. Kill me. Thankfully he has a good job right now but when those loans begin to kick in … which will be sooner than later… it’s going to be no more spending for us! LOL. I’m emancipated so I’ve always gotten really good financial aide help for school! But I left school in NY to come here to Pittsburgh to be with my BF so now I have to focus on going back.. which is so stressful. Trying to find a whole new school in a whole new state that will accept a lot of your credits and have the degree you want and everything. BLEH.

I have a friend that went to England to study abroad for 6 months, and she just posted a funny article online about England. Their cashiers do not stand up 8 hours a day like American grocers do. I re posted the link and a male friend of mine didn’t see why standing is such a big deal since he has done it for 9 years… and he doesn’t cashier that often.

Dude, don’t even go there.

My job does not have the fancy registers that go from side to side. Cashiers pull things FORWARD (which is horrible for your back after a while) and also there are a lot of injuries at my store such as: tendonitis, carpal tunnel, leg pain and back injuries. I can see why sitting and cashiering using a side to side register would work, because it prevents injury. On top of that, cashiers are dealing with ridiculous customers. Is that not enough to convince someone? I guess not, if you don’t cashier as much *eye roll*

This is amongst one of the many reasons why I’m in school.

Longhairmike, Crap! That is really one big jump! A 15 credit course load at the community college I am at is $1,200+ o_o

School costs = insanity. My undergrad (a private institution) was 40,000/yr but I’m lucky that I got a lot of that covered with grants/scholarships. What really hurt me was my two years at the University of Pennslyvania doing languages. No help from anyone since I wasn’t considered a grad student or an undergrad, private loans all the way; so tuition plus money for rent/bills (even though I had two jobs) I had to borrow around 100,000. My first year at my grad school wasn’t covered because they had cut funding so federal loans of about 40,000. Like I said earlier: I can’t think about this debt without getting slightly hysterical.

Wow chacha. So do they have stools? I know toysrus thought that this old carpeted platforms were equivalent to the ergonomic mats that most place that requires long standing are required to provide. Hairdressers use them too. I have two so they go all the way around my chair and they’ve made my back and leg issues way better. And that would be cool if your friend could translate the site. I posted it on FB. I would just build it myself but I’m not so handy :/

Just to throw my stats out, I go to one of the cheapest CC in Michigan that I know of, and it’s 93/credit hour I believe.. Making 12 credits 1,250 so 15 would be over 1500. Not bad though compared to some of the cheaper universities that start at 9,000 a semester or higher.

I’ve only ever gone to public schools, from kindergarten until present. I think my undergraduate tuition was around $10k per year (for two semesters), and my current tuition is around $18k a year, which is actually really cheap for a medical school. Yay for in-state tuition! Some of the schools I applied to were around $50k a year…crazy.  At least that made the decision easier when I was choosing a school to attend after admissions came out haha.

Unrelated – I bought Belle a fleecey blanket a few weeks ago and for ages she wouldn’t lie on it or snuggle it (like I thought she would) and I was considering taking it out because it was just taking up so much room in her cage.  Yesterday I got a shoe box (that she slept in when she was younger) and wrapped the blanket round it and put it in upside down like a little cushioned platform and now she lies on it all the time.  It’s so cute.  Bunnies are funny little things.

What an exhausting day — full of bunny stuff though.

Yesterday my BF and I spent 3 hours searching for Bunny Basics 15/23, which seems as though Oxbow discontinued it. But then in the process of searching — we went to a petstore that we buy a lot of stuff from… they’ve never ever had bunnies and yesterday we noticed a bunny. Needless to say the bun was NOT being properly cared for. It had no hay and it was in the same size cage as they had a guinea pig in — which was TINY. He could barely even hop in one direction. We also noticed that he had puss coming from his nose (assuming it was snuffles). So I called the Humane Society to tell them about the bun…. we spent so much time pondering over whether to get him or not but that would make 4 bunnies and if he’s really sick then we were really scared of having him around our buns at all… it was so sad and depressing and we’ve been thinking about it both days. So hard for us not to just go right over there and get him.

And THEN — today we decided we were going to try and do the long dreadfull process of attempting to clip the buns nails…… (as some of you may know my last attempt with only ONE bunny left me with loads of battle wounds and one unhappy bun.) I finally managed to wrestle them one by one to the ground and YAYYYYY we finally got them done. The whole time they acted like we were murdering them and breathing so heavy. It scared us but they stopped fighting when I put my hand over their eyes and talked to them a lot. SOOO HAPPY WE FINALLY GOT THAT ACCOMPLISHED! :X Phew…

After the dreadful process we decided to let them all come out to play while we cleaned out their condo for the good thorough weekly cleaning… and what you know… the fire alarm goes off again… for the 2nd time this week. The buns of course were already all stressed out of the nail trimming but I had to be the big mean momma and scoop them all into one carrier and rush with them out our condo door. Since our building doesn’t allow animals we had to take them to the car and drive them around for an hour or so until it was safe to go back in.

Poor little guyssss.. they’ve had SUCH a rough day!

We lived in a flat that wasn’t allowed cats or dogs once and we bought a little puppy (now 5) and thought, aw no one will know. Well let me tell you that dog is the most annoying yapper ever. Needless to say the landlord found out when he decided to pay us a visit and was greeted by barks from the other side of the door and a cat desperately trying to escape at his feet He was cool about it I think, I never actually asked my mum. Skipper – I rinse all my veggies by hand under the faucet. There are all kinds of nasty bugs and sometimes even clumps of dirt hidden in the veggies! Sometimes I clean lettuce leaves 2 or 3 times if it’s really dirty.

Box office was my favorite though! Since in person, I’m really not good at talking to people I don’t know lol. And since we weren’t busy, I would be in box just crocheting a blanket the whole time my co-workers thought I was strange lol

I have to stand for 8 hour straight in retail selling crazy stationary. I’m a lone worker so I can not take breaks and if I want to go to the toilet I have to shut the shop. I swear it’s illegal Then straight after that I work at a bar/pub where I’m allowed to sit down if it’s quiet so I pray that it’s quiet and eat my free dinner <3

And also I am already about 20,000 pounds in debt and I haven’t even done my 3rd year yet  I have to rely on loans completely for tuition fees which I am  grateful for since I wouldn’t have been able to go to uni if it wasn’t for the loan.

I am thinking of shutting off my internet and just sticking with  using a cell phone.   There are some nice ones for free with a 2 year contract. 

I can get BB on my phone and am able to post.  However I keep coming back to my laptop seems easier and quicker.  No not quicker  my phone is faster than my laptop actually lol.  Go figure

@Bunnytowne Hmmm…I haven’t mainly because I’m a huge gamer and I need the laptop for homework when I’m not gaming. If not though I wouldn’t deal with it. It’s kind of a hassle. Or if I didn’t have a laptop at least there’s always the phone or a tablet. *shrug* It’s whatever works for you. I know Internet can be expensive. Especially where I live. All we have is Brighthouse which is horrible to deal with. I know Verizon has nifty Internet generating devices that are cheaper. It honestly depends on what you are using the Internet for.

He bites the cage ALLLL the time. Even when the doors open he’ll climb back in and bite at the ceiling. I don’t get it but it keeps him entertained and he doesn’t yank on it hard enough to break his teeth or anything.. just chews so it’s whatever. He’s such a munchy bun and all of my little brats are going through a major teenage rebellion stage. I have to yell at them like 8 times before they stop doing whatever they shouldn’t be doing. Even though they KNOW it’s bad. They were allllll getting so good and then BAM — out of nowhere the buns are hyper and being TOTAL brats. It’s sooo funny but gosh are they terrors right now.

Also, you should see the little brats when they start tearing on the carpet in the living room… bad bad habit that disappeared and then we got our 3rd bun who is the biggest little terror and what do you know… they’ve all started doing it again. We have these little key ring toys with wooden things they can munch on them and every time they tear at the carpet I spend a good 15 minutes saying no and giving them the toy .. which they’ll proceed to fling over their shoulder and then go back to digging and tearing. It’s quite the bunny battle of dominance between us all right now. :X

So, I just wanted to share with you guys my recent happenings of today. =p My car has been a piece of junk (thus its nickname Hunk o’ Junk ;P) and it decided to take a crap today. Long story short if I want AC I have to replace it for 800$. Well my windows don’t work and are kept up through the use of lovely suction cups. xD And I currently have a (as my lovely friends like to call it) “rape” door. Meaning it does not open from the inside or outside. Gotta love it. =p So it looks like this girl is getting herself a brand new used new car. Don’t know how but eh. =p Besides you can’t have a car without AC living in FL and with the amount of money that’s going into it and having to fix the door and window. There’s no point in fixing it. Dx Please tell me I’m not the only one with a junker car. ;P

Well your car sounds a few steps ahead of mine. Mine is also falling apart SM. Two recalls, had to have the breaks, exhaugst and engine stuff redone- this year alone. Now my airbag light came on and I was told by a mechanic that it could be as simple as a cord not connected or it could mean my airbags will fail if I get in a crash or my own fear is that they will deploy while I’m driving. I’m going to start looking around (don’t tell my car I said that though)

They are! Especially the boys — the girl is calm usually but she’ll spend about an hour out with us binkying and getting her treats and then she’s done for the day. She just started being friendly towards us after her spay though. She’s became a lot more trusting with us and will actually come out on her own accord and hop around the play area instead of just staying in one corner like she tended to do before.

But the boys are different colors (black and ones chocolate) but the girl is the same color as the black boy — literally IDENTICAL. But she’s a tad bit bigger than him and her head is a little more robust than his also. We used to always tell easily by if they were skittish when you tried to pet her or not but now that she’s finally coming out of her shell it can be harder to tell. :X Thankfully (to our advantage) the breeder had tattooed the inside of their ears with their numbers way before we got them so whenever we get a little confused we can double-check by that.

Who would’ve thought that find a place that sells preservative free dried papaya would be so hard in Australia!? Planning on trying Ash and Loki with it to help prevent wool block but it seems that most ‘health food shops’ around here don’t stock dried fruit but just ‘natural’ pills, cosmetics and the like… wish me luck in my search cause otherwise I’ll have to find online stores and pay probably too much for shipping it to me.

I just finished my first spread sheet for my accounting project. I feel relieved and good about it. Now, to wait for my teacher to take a look at it and either: tells me what to fix, or gives me the second spread sheet.

So I finally gave into my furry little faces and gave them a phone book to play with since they demolished their Oxbow hay hide-out and they LOVE it.  I figured they would considering all the books that I read during bunny play time has bunny chomps in all the pages.  :X 

 

 

 

As you can see, everyone is enjoying it!  I needed something to keep them busy — seems as though they are chewing on EVERYTHING and attempting to destruct everything they see.  Teenage rebellion?  They’ve been spayed/neutered though!  Can buns go through rebellious teen months even after they’re altered?  It’s exhausting for sure, phew.  Three baby buns all the same bratty little ages….  

 

— I agree with everyone else on here also.  All my friends call me the crazy bunny lady now.  And they think I’m oddly obsessed with rabbits.  No one understands!  Except my BF who is just as obsessed as I am.  We spent hours looking at the buns at our local Humane Society and talking ourselves out of buying them… Hahahah.   Definitely a reason I love this chat — I GET TO TALK ABOUT MY BUNSSSS! <3

FrankieFlash — REALLY??!?! Hopefully that’s all it is! One of the boys is about a month neutered and the other almost a month and a half — and GOSH are they total terrors! It’s exhausting watching them when they’re running around now since they’re always finding trouble in their BUNNY-PROOFED area. Our 3rd bun has always been a little bit of a terror but really cuddly and was getting better… but since they’ve all been together and been neutered/spayed I SWEAR the boys just bring it out of each other or something… they are NUTS. Our girl who was spayed though has really come around to being such a good bun! She was always so skittish and now she’s a lot more friendly and playful. I love it even though she’s still a little nervous you can tell she’s much happier as a spayed bun. Her attitude has done a full 180. Anywho, I’ve heard and read a lot about how Tans are VERY active bunnies and it’s definitely true. The boys have been especially hard to keep up with — they’re ALWAYS on the go. They were GOOD hyperactive buns though now they’ve gone in a the naughty direction. Bratty buns.

LBJ — what’s dry ice? Dumb question probably… :X I’m sure I’ve heard of it but I don’t really remember what it is or what it does. I’m guessing it’s a dry version of ice.. but what’s it made out of and such… and why the :/ face???

Dry ice is pure CO2 that is frozen, as it melts it goes directly into vapor form. You can get frostbite if you’re not careful. Anyway, he put it in a little cooler and added water so it is fogging right now. It keeps cracking and breaking up and it scares the dog.

LBJ — Ewww, that sounds.. weird. I’m terrified of getting frostbitten. Idk why but I hate the winter when I go out snowmobiling or skiing (I mean.. I love those activities) but I always get nervous that I’m going to get frostbitten or something.

SkippersMama — I hope they settle down their naughty bad shennanigans too! I’ve heard that Tans stay WAY active though until they get really old so I’m expecting them to always be the crazy little guys they are. But HOPEFULLY they go back to the GOOD active buns! LOL. I want Flemmie sooooo bad and my boyfriend said we could get one when we moved to a bigger place and I can just imagine the little Tans bossing around a big bunny. It would TOTALLY happen with these little rascals. I’d die laughing.

So my boyfriend ordered us some AeroGardens and they come today!! Not sure if anyone has ever heard of them but they’re supposed to be a really awesome way of growing veggies and the such. We got them mainly for the buns, we’ve been trying our hand at gardening lately but we only have our window ledge (which has been actually working really well) but we wanted more space to grow more things like lettuces for the buns and to double our herbs and peppers and tomatoes… but anyway! Really excited for them for sure!

I’ve been thinking about trying the buns with some lettuces lately. They’re soooo picky and as of right now they just pick out the kale and leave whatever else I give them for an hour or two before they’ll go back and eat it. Dandelion leaves, turnip leaves, collard greens… nothing but the kale seems to really take their fancy. They love basil too though but we only have 1 basil plant right now so it’s kind of being used as a veggie treat in their salads. We were buying cilantro also but they eat so much veggies so fast that we were looking for cheaper options. Like the kale we always buy since it’s only 89 cents a pound! Hmmm… don’t know what else to try that is cheap!

Aww. I’ve had Chacha since she was 8 weeks old. She has never liked being handled (despite the person I got her from said that she has been handled.. whatever hahah) but this morning, she hopped onto my bed and let me pet her. I started to do a rabbit massage on her and she started to relax

I had a pet time on the bed with Bunjamin today too. He’s not one for handling either so don’t worry about that. But he kept wanting pets on the floor and I can barely move today (wrenched my shoulder, back and neck somehow) So I had to bribe him to come up on the bed for pets. Wasn’t too hard

Willow leaves are bunny crack for bunjamin again. He got to used to them around christmas time but we took a break from them and brought them back. He was doing crazy zoomies and binkies last night and I’d make him do a trick to get a leaf. Although I need to get a clicker to reinforce the behavior. I wanted to take a video of it but he was all over the place. He even did a binky off me when I was laying in bed. That was after he pounced on me from the floor. Silly bunnehs

I think when I’m back from my trip, I’m going to start growing my own veggies for Mimzy But we have wooded area right behind us so occasionally we have deer in our front yard who come out to eat our plants there. I’m sure if I grow veggies, they’ll definitely have those eaten too O_o Might have to cover them somehow.

And Mimzy also got ahold of my laptop charger not too bad, just a small nitch near the part that goes in the laptop. I just bought it earlier this year around January but I may have to get another already it comes loose occasionally. And my laptop is old so without the charger, it dies quickly! lol.

 

I took a few pics of my girl last night. Here she is trying to get on my bed. It’s pretty high but she makes an easy jump right up there  naughty bunny! She’s not allowed up there since she thinks its her giant litter box

Looks like my Queen is going to the vets this morning. Ever since she began her molt, she has been tooth grinding. My boyfriend heard it last night and was a bit shocked. I left a message with my vets last night and I received a call this morning that there was a cancellation and to call back for the 10:30 appointment before 9 am. So I got in, and the receptionist told me that there is an emergency coming in at 10:15 so I don’t know how long I will have to wait. So I called my job to let them know that I have an (emergency) appointment with my rabbit and someone in front of me, so I don’t know how long it will take! The person that answered was really nice about it…

On Wednesday I went into Petbarn (a pet store that only sells fish and not any other pets) to get my mother some goldfish for her tank and saw a cute little betta in a tiny tank, I brought him home and stuck him in a beanie box overnight before setting up my 20 litre /5 gallon tank yesterday. I know, not bunny related but I love my fish too.

I’ve also cut up the dried papaya I bought and see if Loki and Ash like it.

Pretty but a lot of work, Ash’s coat is pretty short at the moment cause I harvested her fluff about a month ago (I’m a spinner so it’ll eventually be bunny yarn) but around her head and chest is still quite long and she has a habit of digging into her blanket so I often find bits of pink fluff in her hair. Loki’s coat so far hasn’t needed brushing, pretty sure he was not a house bunny in his previous home… he’s a rescue but a gorgeous rescue at that!!

Btw I’m planning on maybe changing his name, my sister (5 y/o..) named him and now I’ve adopted him from her Mathias just doesn’t feel very much like a bunny name to me.. Or is it a bad idea to change it?  He is still just 4 months old, and could get used to a new name i think, we haven’t taught him to respond to his name yet.

So I was bored last night. Started cutting holes in a box that some shoes were shipped in. One thing led to another and this is what I ended up with.

 

 

 

 

I had to wait a little while, hiding out in the hallway. Then Wooly decided to have a look.

Today was clean out crate day. Ash gets out and hops around, was funny watching her binky especially when she binkied and almost landed on one of my kitties who was sticky beaking. I had to grab Loki by the scruff to get him out of his crate and noticed he had some hair moulting near the bum, so after I cleaned his crate I stuck him in my lap and plucked out a great deal of fluff from his sides, got rid of a big matt near his front leg and a few knots behind the ears, all that came out with no worries. He didn’t mind the piece of dried papaya I stuck in his food bowl, Ash isn’t so sure of this strange orange thing.

Thanks! My husband thinks I’m insane. I was just sitting there with a box cutter carving away.

The interview went okay, but I am worried that I wasn’t making myself clear. They asked why I wanted to work there and I replied that it was in part because I wanted to work somewhere related to my field of study. Then they acted like they thought I wanted field experience, which wasn’t what the job was. It worries me because I don’t want them to think the job wasn’t what I was looking for. Anyway, I won’t know for a little while yet. They had more interviews scheduled. I will let you know though.

I’m sure Bunjamin will be fine. Just as long as he gets lots of good stuff where he’s going.

this morning i couldn’t find peepi anywhere. eventually i found him under the couch huddled up and cold since he was next to the open slider door. i think he got lost sometime in the night during his usual night time excursions to the living room. he’s recently lost most of his eye sight due to cataracts and i think since it was dark he couldn’t find his way back to his room. he was happy once i helped him go back back to his room. poor guy.

Wow, Mike. That is hot. I complain when it’s 34C here in the afternoon. Although, it’s super muggy heat here which makes it so unbearable. I’ve never been out west in the summer so not sure what dry heat feels like.

It’s been super hot here for well over a week and supposed to be next week too. They keep forecasting rain but then it never comes. We got a 5 minute downpour last night, which felt so great. Poor Winnie (my horse) is miserable. This heat is really hard on horses and the dryness has made for the worst flies I’ve seen in my 20 years of horse care.

I went to Greece for a week last month and it is very much dry heat.  It was 46C when we got there – I’m from Scotland where the highest ever is like 23C on the best day haha!  I nearly died it was just sooo hot.

I wish I was still there  It was the nicest place ever and I lost a ton of weight ’cause I was swimming like everyday just to keep cool  I went to a place called Alykes on Zante island.  It was a family part though, not the ‘lads on tour’ part

Hi guys. I’m up at my parents house for work and my cousins bday party. But we just found out my great uncle died. He went into the hospice in-unit (meaning in the building) yesterday and my mom was working last night so she got to keep an eye on him. He passed peacefully with his wife and children by his side. He was an amazing dude. Always cracking jokes and trying to entertain. I was able to see him last Saturday and I feel really grateful about that. I’m glad he’s not in pain anymore. He said he was looking forward to seeing his dog. Idk why I’m telling everyone this. Guess I just felt the need to say something. I’ll be home to comfort my mom when she needs it today. And Bunjamin is working his magic cheering us all up.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late response to what happened. Yesterday was likely a very bad day for me. Chacha was taken to the vet and a full body exam was done and there was nothing wrong with her. since she is molting, the vet believes that she may have some indigestion, so she recommended papaya for a week. She said that she will call back within a week, and if Chacha is still tooth grinding that we will do blood testing and X-Rays. I did not hear Chacha tooth grind last night and I did give her some papaya.

 

When we got into the exam room, the vet tech let Chacha wonder around the room like always. When she left the room, I sat on the ground with little Chacha and she was scared. So scared that she HOPPED into my lap and stayed there for a good 10 minutes  .. So I held her until the vet came in. She was so scared She has never done this before but it made me want to cry.

I was an emotional mess yesterday, and to make matters worse, the manager at my job makes a schedule change so that I am working this Wednesday. Doesn’t she get it? I absolutely cannot work ANY Monday-Wednesday. This week is FINAL EXAMS. So I left her a note. Why is this happening? I spoke to the manager before and she ‘understands’ that I have school. Right. The assistant manager understands that I am going to school because she knows how important it truly is. When my schedule got messed up, the assistant was the one that FIXED IT! She was in nursing school before and she REALLY knows how much work any medical program is.

ChaCha – That sort of stuff happens everywhere it seems. I remember I had finals and I told my manager way in advance I could only work this day and that day. The schedule was correct when it came out. Then the store manager took a look at the schedule and changed it. She wrote me in for days/times I was supposed to be taking a test. Ugh.

Doing a HOOOOOOOOOOJ Happy Dance right now. Our local Rabbit Shelter lost its computer some time ago. At the same time as they were desperately seeking new accommodation after losing their rental. They found a new home (20 meters from my place actually) but still have no computer and have been relying on their mobile phone and the local library computers to keep their operation running. I had been racking my brain on where to get them a computer as I didn’t have the money to buy one nor do they. Last night I posted an ad on Gumtree urgently seeking a free but working second hand computer. Within an hour I had one lady who was willing to donate toward the purchase and (best of all) a local computer shop owner who is going to build them a custom unit for FREE. It will be ready on Monday.. I can’t wait to get it to them and I hope Paul will come and meet the bunnies his computer is going to help….. This is just the most awesome random act of kindness!!!!!!!! My faith in human kind was seriously repaired if not fully restored by this incredible generosity.

Nothing wrong with pasta… Just don’t eat it too late at night when the carbs won’t be used up by your body. Right now it will be chewed up just by nervous energy. Wish I could still eat it, virtually lived on the stuff in between protein loading when I was body building some 20 odd years ago. These days Gluten allergy prevents me from having it unless I want to be violently ill for 3 days.

The diva is doing well, and is currently snoozing. She was helping me with my studies last night by nomming on my school book. I guess she is anxious to learn about the eyes, mouth, and throat

The assistant manager fixed my schedule. When I told her she said “She did it again?!” and apparently, the manager wrote the wrong person’s name down. Thanks for the heart attack. This is the second time this has happened! I don’t think it takes long to do a double check! I hope she realizes that she is messing with people’s personal life and their time off I thanked the assistant manager and she was happy to help me out with it.

Uggg my managers also don’t really seem to care. On tuesday she called me to ask if I wanted to pick up a couple hours that day, when I got there she suddenly had me scheduled every day this week plus yesterday was an 8 hour shift and today is a 7. Bleh. My knees are killing me. They also have tried calling me in on days that I specifically said I can’t working evenings on, I told them a have a free schedule except for Monday and Thursday nights, it’s not like it’s unreasonable of me.

Thanks guys. I’m just glad he’s not in pain anymore. Although this week is going to be so busy with his visitation and memorial (which he wrote himself- shows his character) and we also move a week from tomorrow and I won’t be home to pack most of the week on top of having to work like crazy. (I’ve got 2 colors, and 7 haircuts to do in less than 3 days). I was so sore last night I took a muscle relaxer and pain med for my back and that makes me even more emotional. So I’m sorry about losing my cool.

Update on the computer for Rabbit Rescue… OMG people are amazing… Paul contacted me to let me know Lulu could not come with the parts and it would be another couple of weeks. Oh well, still the wait is not bad and this mans generosity was amazing. Mean while I hear back from Joan and Bill an elderly couple that wanted to donate to the rescue so they could buy a computer. I had earlier explained that if a donation was made inevitably the money would be used for care of the buns as the girls always put them first (not that I was deterring donations just letting them know the money was more likely to be used for vet costs or food). Sorry I digress, Joan and Bill contacted me for an update to make sure the other computer was still coming, when I told the about the delay they went out and purchased a reconditioned top of the line W7 Tower and monitor. I nearly burst into tears from the amazing kindness and generosity. I am picking the computer up in about 20 minutes and delivering it to the shelter. Unfortunately it didn’t come with a keyboard but I am pretty sure I can round up one of those somewhere

bunnyfriend, that is lame. I really do not like how stores don’t follow availability (I have a big mouth and will confront bosses if something is not right.. I’m scary in those ways haha) especially if you have other commitments. The first week that I started at my job they gave me 38 hours! I was a wreck because I did not know produce codes and held up the line due to being a new cashier and having problems! I hope that you get things settled That is ridiculous! It is certainly difficult being on your feet for 8 hours.. I do it a few times a week

So sorry for your loss, FrankieFlash I was an emotional mess the other night due to the stress with my work schedule, finals, and Chacha so I had no appetite, anxiety, and I could not sleep. So I bought a sleep aide (which I have not taken since I lost my mother back in 2009) and I slept pretty well. Don’t worry, I barley take sleep aides

I have a final in my Human Relations class tomorrow, a Clinical Procedures exam on Monday (not open book, so I am studying like crazy), and a Human Diseases Final due by Wednesday by 6 pm. Speaking of my not open book final, I printed out the tests (the professor said a lot of the questions are from the quizzes we took) and clipped them with very interesting binder clips

Ugh today this lady came in for work and I had to check her out, she didn’t speak english very well but she just started yelling at me before she even brought her items and wanted me to check the prices on everything. When she didn’t like the price she’d yell and then say she’s never coming back again. Then she told me today that her son *makes a choking sound and grabs her neck* today, and then says it’s a joke. All the while she’s calling me sweetie and saying I’m a nice person. 3 of the manager/CSR people came over and helped me, they apologized and one guy said “I don’t care if they can’t speak english, I don’t like my employees treated that way.” Apparently she’s a regular and does this all the time. It was an usual experience to say the least.

bunnyfriend – ever since I have started working grocery, I have encountered the weirdest people ever. There was this lady that was very creepy. Some of my coworkers are nice and will say things like “Oh, that food choice looks good!” and that same lady came back to the store, with the food cooked and gave it to my coworker! The same woman once solicited ahem.. things while standing outside the public restroom! MY GOSH PEOPLE!!!! O_O Also, she once barked and licked a few employees! I heard all of this from several employees and the woman is banned. I do not get people?

Tomorrow is a final for my clinical procedure class and I am not nervous at all for some reason? I am looking over my previous quizzes but I feel at ease. I hope I do well tomorrow

Are you allowed to stop shoplifters there? For legal reasons, we can’t confront a shoplifter and accuse them of stealing. Security personnel has to do it. There is some sort of procedure they must follow, otherwise our store could get sued. We are just supposed to talk to the person, ask them if they need a different size or whatever, while they are busy concealing stuff in the fitting room. I remember a couple of girls in a fitting room and you could hear them talking to each other (they were trying to figure out how to get this package open that contained a watch). You could hear plastic cracking. We asked them if they needed a different size and she handed a bra over the door and asked for one. A few minutes later they left, the package was sitting on the floor in the room they were in.

7 days until I’m back in school. I feel so unready to do this again. My last year in my grad program before I move on (though at this moment I have no idea what I’m moving on to…which isn’t terrifying at all).

Wow, what strange people! I had some weird customers at the theater. This guy was ordering at the concession stand & he wasnt mad or anything but then his wife came up to the counter, my co worker handed her the nachos but the lady pulled them from my co workers hand to make it seem like she threw them at her. She made a big scene yelling that my co worker threw them, got my manager involved too. The manager went to talk to my co worker & said “so I’m just going to pretend I’m scolding you because that lady is crazy & I know you didn’t throw them”

I had one lady get furious with me about ticket prices & I told her “I’m sorry, I don’t set the prices but you can talk to my manager if you like” she calmed down and asked if I was ok lol

Cleaning theaters, you find some strange things O.o good & bad. Personal belongings were put in lost & found. Some have even left a whole purse! A big one too & an iPad once. I don’t really know how you forget those haha

I spilled an entire soda on a customer once by accident. I felt so bad but he was really nice about it haha.

I took the final at 8 am, and finished at 8:40 am lol! The final was not that hard. It was practically everything that was on the previous quizzes! I studied the past 2 nights and memorized a lot of the answers, so I am glad that the teacher opened the quizzes for us to study!

I am dreadfully tired and so happy that the 8 weeks are over! I have one final due by Wednesday at 6, along with an Accounting Project. however, my accounting teacher has not graded my first of twelve excel sheets (she won’t give us the other parts until she grades the first part) so I wonder if she forgot, or maybe is letting us students not do it   You never know.. *knock on wood*

 

HEHEHE, LPT, I LOVE OLIVIA BUN She and Chacha would get along so well! Chacha likes to lay on blankets as well, so maybe they could share a blanket

 

Speaking of rabbits, Chacha is addicted to Bunspace bunny bites. I give her 4 a day (they are tiny and mostly made of up hay with a tiny bit of pumpkin or banana inside) I left the bag next to me so that if I find her, I could give her some. Being the dark haired ninja she is.. well, I don’t need to say anything.

Haven’t posted in a few days! Been so absolutely busy these past few days… So sorry for your loss, FrankieFlash. Like you I haven’t posted because my boyfriends mom lost her battle to cancer yesterday morning. It’s been really hard on my boyfriend since his younger brother also died a couple of months ago also. I don’t even know how he’s managed to stay so strong and together but he has. It’s just a really sad situation all around.

On a better but still icky note all 3 of the Tans are shredding. I don’t think they’re molting yet because it’s not really coming out in chunks although you can easily pull hair off them and when they rub up against your face you get a nice mouthful of hair. We have two different brushes that I’ve tried brushing them with and nothing comes out in either of them! I’m not sure if their hair is just THAT fine… or if they just haven’t done a real molt yet. I have no idea what to really expect since they’re babies. They are positioned next to the AC vent that sucks things back in and they LOVE to sit up by it and needless to say it’s suctioned all their hair right to the vent so we are constantly having to vacuum it off, hahaha.

On an even better note – the breeder we got our buns from is having another litter of Tans and my boyfriend agreed that if she had any lilac Tans or blue Tans for sale that we could get him!! Ahhhh, I so hope they have one in this litter!!! I want a lilac sooooo bad! I don’t think she’s going to sell the lilac Tan that was in my little guys litter since he has been winning at shows quite a bit (BOOOO for me!).

LBJ — that little hay thing you made out of the cardboard is AWESOME!!! I need to try and attempt to construct something like that. My buns tore their Oxbow hay hide-out to millions of shreds and have begun focusing their attention on things in their condo that they can destroy now so we have to put some work into either buying more toys to keep them occupied or making some! We gave them the phone book but one of the brats keeps munching down the paper like it’s candy or something so we haven’t left it in their with them without supervision.

My boyfriend and I also started our AeroGardens! We already have arugula, baby greens, romaine lettuce, salad greens, basil, oregano, thyme, and cilantro that has sprouted and it hasn’t even been a week! Hopefully it will turn out to be a good investment since so much of it the little brat buns can eat! We also have an assortment of peppers but they haven’t sprouted yet along with some tomatoes that are coming tomorrow with another AeroGarden to set up! I’m sooooo excited for how these will turn out!

Puffy tail, the bunnies in tiaras is adorable ^-^ I enjoyed that a lot more than the show haha. Very cute, we should have a costume one for halloween maybe? I haven’t ever tried putting anything on Mimzy before except for her harness and she was good about it. But I haven’t put it on her in quite some time now. I only used it before so I could take her out to get publicity since she was looking for a home at one point. Now there’s no point since it’s 100 degrees outside O_o

Tanlover- Aero gardens look so cool I’ve been wanting to start a veggie garden, I just think it would save a lot more money. But I don’t really have a green thumb would this be a problem? Or are veggies fairly easy to care for? hehe.

Mimzy has gotten bored of romaine lettuce lately =/ Have to replace it with something else and try romaine again another time.

Mimzy — actually, the AeroGardens pretty much do everything for you! It tells you when to add water and more nutrients and you set it so the lights are on a certain amount a day at certain times — I’ve heard good and bad adventures with it but everything has been doing really good so far! Apparently the basil is really easy to grow and that was our first one to sprout up! Our buns LOVE basil and I’m hoping they’ll love Arugula because we have 3 of those growing so they better! We tried growing some on our windowsill to though (and believe me — I am NOT a plant person) and our basil did REALLY well along with some other herbs and peppers. I’m not sure how easy lettuce would be on a windowsill though!

>.< I feel so bad for little Skipper. She had a big day today. We took her to the vet (which is about an hour away one way) to get checked over by a rabbit savvy vet and talk spaying. It turns out the little silly girl had a slight ear infection. We had the vet tech put in the ear drops for it to show us how to do it. She was not very happy. And since we've been home she has been obsessively cleaning her ears and flopping them about. Poor thing!

Oh Mimzy, have you played Halo?  What 343 is doing for their online multiplayer looks amazing.

I’ve had a long day. The service started at 11 am for my uncle but we woke up late and my mom said it’s really bad to be late for a funeral so I was rushing about. We spent the day with family. Oh and helping my grandma get a dress for my sister’s wedding. It was nice to take her out and spend some time away from my Grandpa because of his health issues she has to watch him all the time. (He has strokes and dimensia brought on by them on top of physical limitations). She needed some girl time. And I got to see cousins I rarely see at the service lunch-in. Some of my cousins are deaf and I hoped the little sign language I learned would help me communicate with them but I still needed the interpreter. But anyway, we remembered my Uncle Bob for the great guy that he was and celebrated his life.

Now I’m back to my home and busy packing.. haha until I messed up my heel. Now I’m on here Missing my bun who is staying with his grandmom during the move. It’s in 4 days! ahhh!

The hairbuster is AMAZING. I got it for my rabbits here from BB but now I use it for the dog and the cats as well. I always end up with another rabbit, dog, or cat when I’m done

It seems like the perfect solution to any pet! I can’t get it until I’m back from my trip Unfortunately after my trip, I might be broke lol!
I think Mimzy is going through a shed…but it’s kind of strange; when I brush her, run my hand over her, or lightly pluck (since there’s no noticeable fur sticking out) I get nothing. Yet when I go to sweep, I get lots and lots of fur balls!

I think with console games for me, it’s mostly that I tend to forget what button does what and I always seem to move the toggle wrong so my player’s screen often turns too far to one side & I have to correct it lol. I have small hands but I never really noticed if the controller was just too big for me. Since I used to game on pc all the time, I now have a habit of placing my fingers on “w, a, s, & d” xD

lol, Roberta. I’m not into gaming either. We have a Wii that I never use. I would much rather read or embroider. My hubby plays online games and he gets so stressed out and frustrated sometimes that I’m like, “whats the point? That doesn’t seem fun.” Real life is stressful enough without having people with guns or monsters running after you.

I’m so nervous! I’m going to be taking Mimzy in the morning to my friend’s house where she’ll be staying for a week I already started packing her stuff and wrote down a care sheet for them to go by. I’m curious to find out if she’ll be excited to have me home after the week or mad at me Good news is she’s not really a frightened bunny, very curious & brave so she shouldn’t have too hard a time adjusting to their house.
I think my friends will find it more difficult to adjust to her lol. They’re used to their bunny who is easily frightened, not big on chewing/playing. Its also a dwarf which is a little more than half mimzy’s size. I wonder how this will turn out hehe.
I’m going to miss her so much!

On the other hand, I’ve been really wanting to go on some roller coasters! So I’m kind of excited for universal studios anyone been?

Oh my gosh! I’m pretty relieved as of right now! ^-^ My plan was to bring Mimzy to my friend’s house at 11am but I just talked to them & said that it might be too early and no one will be home until 5. That’s way too late So I talked to my mom and she agreed to take care of her for me for the week! As long as I leave her a list telling her what to do everyday

I’m just so happy that she doesn’t have to go to a new location for the week! The only downside is she won’t be let out of her cage. But at least she has a large condo now

On another note, I found a little pink bow while in home depot the other day, cleaned it up a bit and then took this picture last night…

Mimzy- You’re gonna have so much fun! I went to Universal in Florida (is that the only one?) a few years back and we had a blast! Wish we could have spent 2 days there. We literally had to jog through the park to do all the rides we wanted. We were upset that the Simpson ride was going to be completed a few months after our visit. We love the Simpsons! The Mummy ride was my fave. I love that movie and the ride was awesome! I’m not a big roller coaster gal, though, I hate drops.

Okay, that pic of Mimzy is WAY too adorable! She looks so proud of herself, like, “Yeah, I’m gorgeous. Whatever.” Olivia is my only girl bunny so she’s a pampered Princess. All of her stuff is pink and purple and I love getting her pretty things.

Last night, I was listening to a Natural Stress Therapy CD (had to recover from the vet visit) and Olivia was out and I gave her like a 15 minute face and ear massage. She was falling asleep. Pampered or what.

God I’m SO mad right now!! My neighbors stupid cats keep pooping in my backyard. I was mowing the grass this morning and found 6 (!!!) piles of poop, several I almost stepped in. ALL of it diarrhea!!! I just about vomited when I picked it up. Our dog uses the backyard and I don’t want her to pick up some nasty sickness or parasites from it.

I don’t have a clue what to do about it, if I talk to her she’ll just say they aren’t hers.

LPT – I’m huge on roller coasters! That sounds like lots of fun haven’t gone on any rides in a couple years now O.o I blame my bf, he doesn’t really like them too much :/ Im probably going to the one in Florida next year when I visit my grandpa. Granted, if he can get us in. He used to work for them so I think he still can is what I’m told
I love transformers & saw a video from that ride, I can’t wait to go on it! This trip is mostly for my bf’s little sister though lol. I just hope we get at least a little bit of adult ride time

Hazel, poop in yard from another persons per is always a touchy subject :/ our backyard became a target for fleas & other bugs so we had to start taking our dogs out front to potty. My mom picked up the poo every single day but my neighbor still had a fit with it :/ my mom even picked up any cat dropping she found in my neighbors yard just to help a little. the poo was almost always kept on our side , if anything they would go no more than a foot into hers & go. So now she has a grudge with us & we take them on the other side. This neighbor has dogs & doesn’t mind as much if we pick it up.

This backyard is becoming a nightmare though O.o we’ve treated for bugs a few times but since no one in the house is big on yard work, the weeds get terrible

Hi Hazel, As a cat owner I can honestly say that is really strange. For a cat to just go in the grass is entirely out of character. They bury it so they are more likely to use your garden beds. Still not good but atleast you don’t get it between your toes. If they are going in your yard and it is gooey and they aren’t burying it then those cats are sick and also quite possibly neglected or worse another neighbour may have left baits or they have gotten into something that was not good for them. Firstly I would check to make sure its not another animal like a possum or what ever your native fauna over there. You could approach your neighbour and address it as concern. Explain what you are finding in your yard and ask her if the cats have been unwell or behaving differently. It might alert her to a health problem with the cats that she is not aware of.

I hate roller coasters. They terrify me and people actually have to drag me onto the rides and even then I’m a bundle of nerves who can’t stop clutching the guard rail. I’ve never been on one that goes upside down, either. I’m convinced I will die. No once has managed to convince me otherwise.

Have fun at Universal Mimzy! I’ve gone to the one in FL several times. It was our senior trip. =p And I was able to go for Halloween Horror Nights. The bf and I are planning to go again this year. >.< It's more for him not me. I'm terrified of scary stuff. I'm glad your mom is looking after the bun. =] Less stress for her. Have you tried putting dichotomous earth in the backyard? It should help with the icky fleas.

Hazel I think you should say something to the owner. It’s not normal for a cat to have diarrhea. I know our cat gets it whenever we let him out on the patio because he’ll drink out of the pool. Once we figured that out he’s not allowed there. I’m hoping that’s what is up with the cat and nothing too horrible is wrong with it.

Just held Belle for about 5mins!  She still hates being held but I’ve started holding her and just petting her so that she stops associating it with bad things (after the dreaded meds ).  I could tell she didn’t enjoy it but nearer the end I think she relaxed a little bit because she didn’t look as frightened.  Usually when I let her go she runs away and dramatically flicks her feet as she goes but tonight she stayed on my knee and took pellets from me and then hovered around for a bit – now she’s chillin’ at the end of my bed keeping an eye on me .  I took a sneaky snap shot while I was at it, I just couldn’t resist.

They aren’t really house cats, as far as I can tell they are strays that she is accommodating on her porch with food, water, cat  beds etc. I’m not sure if she ever lets them in the house. Because of that I assume they have giardia or somesuch that is causing the diarrhea. I don’t think she would bother to take them to the vet to get treated, either. Living out there they would just catch it again anyway. I highly  suspect it’s the cats because of the sheer amount of poop, I also catch them running from my yard a lot. We used to have an armadillo living under our driveway and never had a poop problem, but you’re right that it still could be some other critter. We were thinking about putting one of those wildlife cameras up (the ones hunters use) to find out who the culprit is, lol.

 

Like I said, I doubt she will do anything and if she won’t then I guess the only option would be to trap them and take them to the pound. If she keeps this cat hotel up she’ll have a bazillion of cats before long. I’d hate to do that though, since they would probably be put down

Hazel – I hate to say this, but if they really are strays (and this lady is not accepting responsibility for them) then perhaps it is best if you try to trap them. They are sick and her feeding them is only making the problem worse. Even if you took them to the pound and they were euthanized, it would be more humane than allowing them to suffer like that. Plus they have a chance of being adopted if they are friendly enough.

I have to agree with LBJ. My dad, after him and my mom divorced, became a bit of a cat hoarder. He wouldn’t take responsibility for the cats and get them fixed to keep them from breeding so we ended up trapping them and sending them to shelter. We made sure to send them to a no kill one. If you can it’s always good to see if a no kill shelter will take them. I know it may seem mean. But honestly getting them off of the streets where they can be picked up by random people who may have malicious intent or hit by a passing car is better than keeping them sick in a cat hotel situation.

Made Belle up a new egg carton toy because she destroyed her previous one a few weeks ago.  I usually only fill it with hay but I decided to put some greens, pellets and a few tiny pieces of dried pineapple (her first ever treat!) in there too this time and she went crazy for it!  I managed to get the camera once she had calmed down a little but it is still cute to watch.  She’s been playing with it for about 15 mins!!

Yeah it is really good for keeping Belle entertained and if she’s ever not eating as much hay as I think she should be it is a good way to get her to eat some while having fun After about 20 mins she managed to open it and just gobbled everything left that was inside ! When I make them up I just put a fairly small hole in the top so she can have fun tearing at the egg carton to get inside. At first I was worried she was eating it but I always find loads of ripped up bits lying so I think she just tears them off and spits them out !

And GOOD NEWS! Our breeder is having another litter of Tans… and she said if they got a lilac or blue Tan she would keep him for us!! My boyfriend and I have to talk about it a little bit more but he’s a huge sucker for the little brats so as soon as we see a pic of them then I know he’ll fall for him/her! The litter is due on the 23rd soooooo it’s getting really close! I want a lilac Tan SOOOOO bad! AND I’D GET ANOTHER BABY BUN!!! My brats are all grown up almost (6 months this past 15th).

Ugh.. it is back. I have had hives when I was a child. I only found out what the name of it is now. Urticaria. The hives are red, raised, sometimes itchy that appear on the skin for many reasons. Half of all cases are unknown. The other ugly part of it is that it causes edema on the face. So I kind of have a fat lip at the moment. I don’t know why this occurs, but as I said many things can trigger it: stress, food, animals (I am not allergic to animals), hot temperatures (WA has been experiencing hot weather as of lately), an autoimmune disorder, or idiopathic (unknown) reasons.

The last time I had this, it was hell. I don’t want to go through it again. It isn’t pleasant and I did not want to be in public because of the facial edema. Ughhhhhhhhhh………. go awayyyyyyyyyyyy

So really quick, revisiting the cats…PLEASE if you do anything with the cats like take them somewhere, try to take them to a no kill place I’m about 95% sure they won’t get a chance to be adopted out especially if they’re strays! Years ago, we had a gorgeous siberian husky who was lazy and just a big teddy bear. We had to move in with my grandma who could not stand his hair. We tried finding a place for him to go & we were running out of time so our last resort was the pound. We went back 2 days later to get him back because we regretted it so bad. They didn’t have him & said he was most likely put down the very day we brought him in. I have a really bad taste for pounds now and I’ll probably never take another animal to one. If it is possible, please do a no kill place! But I do understand the thing about them being better off put down than living in bad care.

I hope Gary is doing ok!! Thoughts and prayers still out for him & his recovery!

Yesterday I was painting at my bf’s dad’s store. I was closing up and standing right next to the painting putting my paint bottles away. This guy maybe about 16-17 came up and decided it would be ok to rub both his hands all over the painting and smeared a part of it! I told him “dont touch that please!” so he said ok & walked away. ugh! I was able to fix it but, really…who does that especially right in front of the artist =/ I even have a do not touch sign.

So really quick, revisiting the cats…PLEASE if you do anything with the cats like take them somewhere, try to take them to a no kill place I’m about 95% sure they won’t get a chance to be adopted out especially if they’re strays! Years ago, we had a gorgeous siberian husky who was lazy and just a big teddy bear. We had to move in with my grandma who could not stand his hair. We tried finding a place for him to go & we were running out of time so our last resort was the pound. We went back 2 days later to get him back because we regretted it so bad. They didn’t have him & said he was most likely put down the very day we brought him in. I have a really bad taste for pounds now and I’ll probably never take another animal to one. If it is possible, please do a no kill place! But I do understand the thing about them being better off put down than living in bad care.

Well we already looked into the no kill shelter situation last year when we found a litter of kittens under our shed. Sadly all of the no kill shelters in our area only take in pets, you have to proof with vet bills or some other paperwork that it is in fact your pet and not a stray. Animal control is the only option for strays around here. Luckily the kittens moved out before we had to make that decision. So, I guess I will wait a while, maybe they will stop using my yard eventually…

Understandable. Sorry for any bad feelings I may have caused by the post — we were looking for a very particular rabbit (lilac Tan) and no matter how many rescues or places we visited for adopting buns in our area their were NO tans. So when she e-mailed me about them I kind of got a little overly excited about the prospect of a new baby bun to raise and give a good home. (And we’ve tried other buns from the Humane Society but my boyfriend has been allergic to a lot of them so it’s been tough finding the right little guys to fit our home). But I’ll make sure in the future it’s not discussed.

LongHairMike — that snake is horrifying and I’m pretty sure my “lemon” bunny (call him that because he’s not scared of anything and totally forgets he’s a bunny) would walk right up to it and probably take a chomp out of him.

Feel better, ChaCha. I can sympathize with you on being in public with stuff like that. Whenever we go out to eat which we do a lot, I always feel awkward afterwards because I have to go throw up almost instantly and everyone knows whats happening. (since I have chronic vomiting and the doctors can’t figure out what it is). It’s horrifying. My grandparents and a few other family members came down this weekend for my boyfriends memorial for his mom and brother who died this year and it was terrrrible. My whole family commented on how much weight I’ve lost and how worried about me they are and OF COURSE, my boyfriend convinces them that I should talk to my doctor about just being admitted to the hospital for a week so they can do tests non-stop and hopefully figure out what it is since I’m down to 111 pounds and I used to be 138.. The thought of going into the hospital is terrifying. Idk why but it just seems… scary. And lonely. And I’ve never had to stay at a hospital overnight. But he’s worried if I lose much more they’ll put me in there no matter what with IVs and stuff so I’m not dehydrated so I guess I’m considering it…

Also, today we tried cleaning out the anal glands…. yeahhhh. That did not work out AT ALL. Not even slightly. We couldn’t figure out a way to even find the glands and holding them was horrible. It seems like any way you hold them to do it they can kick hard and we’re terrified they’ll break their backs doing it so not really sure what we’re gonna do. We have a vet appt on the 1st for Tanger to get his first annual checkup so we were just going to have our vet show us the ropes of doing it.

Gila monsters are funny little lizards. They are venomous, but I remember the ones at the zoo that were “tame” and the zoo keepers would hold them with no problems. Only venomous lizard in the USA! Woohoo!

Well everyone! I’m currently on a train! Been riding for a bit under a day now. It’s been pretty fun, we have a 2 room sleeping car. But the train makes us all very sleepy! Lol.

you start at the top op the gland and work your way towards the tail, while slowly rotating the q-tip so it grabs the junk in their junk.

Well, my summer break has officially started! I’m very happy! My dad and I are going to see “The Expendables 2” tomorrow afternoon My dad and I used to see many movies when I was little, but since it is expensive nowadays, we kind of stopped. But I want to start that tradition again!

LoveChaCha how do your school semesters work? O.o I’m just starting my fall semester tomorrow.

The community college that I attend is on quarter basis. Each quarter is about 3 months long, with the exception of summer quarter which is 8 weeks. I will be going into my 3rd quarter on 9/24. I’m so happy that I have a few weeks off to relax

Well, I’m giving my trip one more week and if Stormy is not better, I’m gonna cancel it. I cant’ leave him if he needs care and I won’t have any fun if I’m worried about him. I was planning to go from the 21st-24th of September. Was really looking forward to Bunfest and was planning on going to see Slash and Myles Kennedy again since they will be in Toronto that weekend.  I will go to Bunfest next year if I have to cancel. So my brats have this thing — where they’ll move the litter box out of the corner of their condo and pee where it was before they moved it, so frustrating. They get all riled up and kick it all over the place and yank on it with their teeth and then it moves and it gets pee all over the bottom of the condo. >=( Bratsssssss. And Fleury for some reason WILL NOT STOP PEEING. GAHHH. On the living room carpet. He knows it’s bad — he was fine before his neuter and then did good after his neuter (2 months ago) and now he won’t stop. We have to keep constantly putting him in his litter box when he comes out so he won’t have an accident, hopefully he gets the hint soon.

My AeroGardens are doing AMAZING. I can’t believe how much they’ve sprouted in two weeks. It’s astonishing really.

IR — I think my BF paid around $600 for 3 of them. We got the big fancy versions though (so we would hopefully have a better chance — they have more lights and they extend higher up for the tomatoes and peppers as they’re growing) so they have some cheaper ones too! They have small cute ones on the site that I think are around a $100, maybe less and they’re good for like 3 plants inside of them! They come in a ton of colors and designs for those ones. The big ones just come in black.

Ughhhh. I have a doctors appt today to talk about being admitted for a week into the hospital so they can do testing rapidly rather than how I’ve been doing it since I lost two more pounds and I’m down to 111 now. BOOO. So sickkk of being sickkkk. I’m scheduled to see a new specialist in September though, so hopefully he’s helpful! My brother has been begging me to come to NYC (he lives in Long Island) to be tested by the “best doctors in the world”. He’s such a typical NY’er, everyone from NY thinks it’s the best place in the world.

I start college tomorrow and I am NOT looking forward to waking up. For the past maybe two months or so I’ve been getting up between 11am and 1pm (I’m really lazy) and doing nothing but sit on my computer all day pretty much every day. Tomorrow I have to go for the bus in my town at 6.48am (which means getting up at 5.45am!!!) and then I need to get a train to Glasgow and then ANOTHER train to college. Not to mention how much this little trip will cost me. I hate education. :'(.

I’m just lucky that my bank has a great response time for odd activity on the account. The first charge was about a week, for only a couple dollars so they didnt do much, because well.. who knows, maybe I drove down there. But then yesterday I used it here, and then at 5am it started getting used all over the place in San Diego, so they called me immediately to verify. And they are removing the bad charges from the bill, so thats good too

Just to be on the safe side though, All my cards are getting changed, not just the one.

I was on the list for a TA position. I lost the position I had before and had to go without for the spring semester. They were hoping more funding would be available this semester, but I found out about a month ago that it was looking highly unlikely. I wasn’t anything I did, funding was cut and priority is given to PhD students (I’m masters). I attempted to find a different job on campus, but they won’t take me because I’m a graduate student (most jobs are for undergrad federal work-study students). So yeah, no hope for me there.

I honestly don’t know what to do at this point. I need income coming in, but I also need relevant experience (desperately). If this experience is anything like the “real world”, then I’m terrified I won’t be able to find a “real job” when the time comes. It seems like my degree isn’t going to mean anything without proper experience.

TanLover- Ohhh nooo!!!! I totally sympathize with you hun! I have major stomavh problems that have never been diagnosed. I can’t seem to hold food down either. I either throw up or it comes out the other way. It’s taken years and years, (literally like 10 yrs) to find out what works for me! No caffine, no gluten, no spicey or greasy food, and a perscription medacine for stomach, intenstinal and colon spasms. The med keeps my body from spasming, which is what pushes my food out of my body. It REALLY helps! And of course doing my best to keep stress down. If you aren’t on that med, you should consult your dr about it. It works wonders for me!!! Oh and on the scent gland, I checked my buns but thank god he cleans it out so I didn’t need to! I didn’t have any problems checking for it at all. I bought the latest issue of Rabbit at Petsmart and it had a whole article on monthly grooming and what to do. They had step by step photo
instructions ont hat and it made it a snap! You should snag the issue if you can find it.

IsabelleRobyn- OMG! Belle is soooo adorable! My Toby always looks like that right after he’s done something bad. Which usually means he’s peed on the couch!

LMAOOOO. Cinnabuns faceeeee. HAHAHAHAHAHA. She looks like she’s transforming into a different animal.

Cristina — WOW. Really? What kind of medicine do they give you for it? Were you diagnosed with gastropariesis or however you spell it? That’s what they thought I may have so they gave me Celexa to help with the nerves in my stomach (hoping that would stop me from throwing up after a few months) but I’ve taken it for 4 months now and it hasn’t helped/done anything at all. So they have kind of ruled that out. I had actually put on weight for a small amount of time and then when I went back to my doctors yesterday he was really worried because I managed to lose 10 pounds since the last time I had seen him. They tried all the anti-nausea, heartbun, ect. medicines to no avail and then they had me on Zofran to help with the eating so I couldn’t throw up but it made me constipated for daaaays and was terrible. FINALLY — getting sent to a specialist but I still can’t see him until September so now it’s all about keeping the weight on. Which is pretty impossible when you throw up everything you eat. *facepalm* And gross. It’s so embarrassing when I’m at work and eat on break or I’m out to dinner with people, it’s so awkward since they all know what I’m going to do now… They tried me on Compazine and it made me keep down my food but it made me so loopy and out of it that it’s just impossible to take because I can’t do anything afterwards. I can’t live my whole life like that and Compazine you can’t even take long-term because it damages your brain so I wasn’t too keen on taking it in the first place. So my doctor stuck me back on Zofran and gave me a prescription for Miralex to help with the constipation so whenever I can’t keep food down for a few days he told me to take it and just pig out like crazy so I don’t lose anymore weight. I’m 2 pounds from hitting the underweight mark… which is scary only because I’ve been losing weight so quickly. Tomorrow I go for my CT scan though — kind of nervous about the IV. I HAAATE IVs. Last time I needed one it took them like 11 tries to get it in – my veins are tiny and always collapse. BOO. But HOPEFULLY they find something! Also, Toby is absolutely ADORABLE! I wish my buns would let me dress them up like that. I’m pretty sure my brats would bite my face off before allowing that.

TanLover- I was never officially diagnosed with anything, which is extremely frsutrating. I applied for disability a few weeks ago and its hard with no official diagnosis. *sigh* My general practitioner was the one who was the MOST help to me. He was a wonderful man and I saw him since I was 13 and am now 26. Unfortunately he died this year due to brain cancer but thankfully he helped me out loads before he passed. I have seen a total of 3 GI specalists, and been through $2000 and $4000 procedures at each one. Had colonscopies and upper whatever-it-is-called-scopies ( LOL ) at each one. Complete with tons of blood work, ultra sounds and biopsies. I am a medical anomily. haha I’m not sure how it is for you, but for me I get horrible stomach cramps, spasms, and stabbing pain that leaves me crying and hunched over. I get ulcers all inside my mouth, horrible acid reflux, loads of gas, and horrid nausea. For me I either throw up or get diarea. I go through flare ups where it’s horrible and I loose weight drastically and then periods of time where I am okay. So I am rididled with fear of getting sick again, anxiety and depression. Ugh! I’m sure you know how it all feels. For me, having lived with this since I was born, I can only tell you what helped me and saved my life many times. Cut out ALL caffine! Soda (unless its caffine free!) coffee, tea, etc. It aggravates your insides , this was the first thing my GP taught me and it was a HUGE help!!! Obviously  no spicey and greasy foods. Next make sure you are eating “clean” foods. I have found Gluten Free is the only way for me. If I even eat 3 crackers I get immensly sick for 2 solid days!!! It’s hard to cut breads out, but once you do in about 2 weeks you see a BIG difference and in 4 weeks your whole life changes. I’m so serious about this! I am also having to cut out dairy due to my new doctors suggestion. I haven’t been too strict with that part of it, but I will be from now on! I drank a glass of milk last night with a gluten free Lemon Filled Toasted Coconut Cake I made. Ohhhh lord. I was sick all night, and all day today. Sooo not worth it!!! As far as meds I do take a LOT of medication. Not even gonna lie about that. For my stomach I take about 4 different ones. I take 40 mg of Nexium in the morning and 40 of Prilosec at night. This is the ONLY thing my GI dr has found works to keep the ulcers from forming in my mouth daily from all the acid. I take Promethzine which is generic but it works wonderfully for the nausea. Sometimes my nausea is so bad it causes me to go into barfing fits and this really really cuts back. For the stomach/intestinal/colon spasms ( which is what your body is doing and causing you to loose all your food) I take a generic pill called chlordiazsepoxide…can’t remember the rest. It’s super long but the brand name is Librax. It’s about $50 for a one month supply at Walmart if you don’t have insurance. I take it 3 times a day, at least 30 mins before meals and this pill has saved my life! I’ve been on it since I was ..oh gosh probably 16. But steadily since I was 21. It works wonders for me and helps me keep my food down. My dr also likes it because it has an anxiety med mixed in with it ( a very light light dose) which helps me with my anxiety. I get to where I would be afraid to eat becaue I didn’t want to throw up again, so the anxiety med in it really helps!!! Maybe ask your doctor about Librax? I’ve been on it for a long time and I am actually a pharmacy tech. There aren’t any bad side effects, or loopy feelings with it. It’s worked really great for me! I hope your doctor will let you try it and see if it works for you. Keep me updated on how your doing! And if you need someone to chat with just msg me. Trust me, my heart goes out to you and I know exactly how you feel! I used to hate going out to eat with friends because I’d be running to the bathroom all throughout the meal and I knew what people thought. I even had my friends parents going to my parents and telling them they thought I had an eating disorder and my parents had to explain the situation. It’s hard and emabarassing but don’t give up or loose hope. They WILL find out what is wrong, even if it takes a while. Stay postaive, and work on what you can control for now. Clean up your diet, keep a good food diary, and start with basics like eggs, rice, boiled chicken. As you add foods back in do it one at a time and eliminate things that your body reacts to negitively. I know its a pain in the butt, but it will make a world of difference for you! First exam tomorrow…I think my brain is going to explode .  There’s just so much stuff to learn, so many drugs to memorize…I don’t know how I’m ever going to retain enough of it to do my job well after I graduate.  I thought last year was bad, but this year it’s even harder to fight off the feeling of inevitable failure, sigh.

peppy- 3rd year I believe. In hospital. She chose a hospital in Flint (voted most dangerous city in US- lol but it’s really just a half hour to where I grew up which is pretty safe). But as you know, where there is poverty, there are people without medical insurance and while that’s very sad, it’s also a better learning experience because she’ll see things you won’t see in a town where everyone has proper medical care.

I’m so excited, I’m working my first adoption event this Saturday with a local rabbit rescue. I thought my worsening allergies were going to make volunteering impossible but Donna is willing to work with me in other ways so yay! I may or may not be in love with a bun or two at the rescue

Hmmmm, I used to horseback ride constantly to destress but now with no more horses… I suppose I love curling up on the floor in my buns play area and reading a book!! I think that’s my best destressor actually. I have a tendency to freak out about everrrrrything, big and little things. And oh yeah, I love adding a glass (or three) of wine into that little scenario.

Cristina — TOTALLY understand everything you just said! Hahahaha, I haven’t developed ulcers in my mouth yet at all and when they did my endoscopy everything came back clear so SOOO far all the vomiting hasn’t affected anything. Skipper’s Mama, I think we have drunk gaming in common! I did that last Sunday and it was hysterical! I plan to do it again this Sunday! I play Call of Duty online and drink. Good thing I am off on Monday, or else I would not be able to get out of bed at a normal time hahaha

FrankieFlash, I feel the same way that peppy does. However, I have had some customers tell me that the doctor’s office will train me on what they need me to be doing and such. I don’t feel as stressed as I used to.

To take stress off, I pet Chacha, or talk to someone. Chacha is a very good listener as well, but she likes to be petted. It makes me fee a bit happier. I also take hot (I like my water hot!) bubble baths and lay in bed afterward. I usually forget the stress until the next day as the bubble bath makes me so relaxed and sleepy 

 

I have a regular customer and a good friend. We started talking when she came through my line with NIC grids. I told her that I’ve used the grids for rabbit housing, and she said that she was using it to build a condo for her rabbit fosters What a coincidence! We have became good friends and she came in the store today to give me this:

I decided to introduce my cat to Belle last night just to see what he would think of her – he’s not allowed in my room any more so they have never met. I was holding him so he didn’t get fur on the carpet (my bf is allergic to him) and when I put him down close to Belle I could feel him pushing back in against me haha! Then he jumped out my arms and ran down the stairs. He was just like what the hell was that?!

Phew, glad that exam is over with. Yesterday afternoon I ended up spending some time by myself listening to music and cleaning, which was surprisingly relaxing. Then I went out with some school friends at night to blow off some steam, yay! But today it’s time to start hitting the books again…starting to study again less than 24 hours after an exam kind of sucks but you’ve gotta do what you’ve gotta do!

I managed to clip ALL of Belle’s nails just there! It’s the first time I’ve done it and she just lay there and let me (she wasn’t happy about it but she allowed it). I didn’t take very much off any of them because I was too scared of getting the quick. She has white nails so I could see it but I was still scared that I would get too close haha! But at least she doesn’t have razor claws any more !

Went into a panic before. Pipi had a big red splash across her face near her eye. Scooped her up and checked her all over. Eye is fine, no sign of injury and she couldn’t understand the fuss. Having made sure all is well and investigated the scene I suspect that Nermal has managed to pee on Pipi’s head through the Xpen bars. Wow, what a day!

I went to a class at the humane society today, it was an all day thing. I learned T Touch for bunnies I brought Squirrel, as I figured he’d be the most open to spending all day somewhere different without having a heart attack. He was such a good boy today

I worked with a bun that is completely blind, poor girl. She had both her eyes removed last week. After doing a couple of the T Touch techniques, she didn’t even seem like the same bunny! Before, she was a quivering mass of bunny, her whole body shaking, her head scanning from side to side, trying to figure out where she was, what was going on. After… totally relaxed, even ventured around the table a bit, sniffing everything, her ears wiggling around to hear everything. Total change in her. Hope working with her can make her more sure of herself and less anxious all the time, poor lady. I’m going to go back to OHS a bunch this week to work with her more, and help get her adopted

I hope this stuff can help Moosie relax too, he gets so stressed about everything.

Last night I stayed at my bfs house so I asked my mum to feed Belle for me this morning and she said Belle lunged at her!!! Belle has never been aggressive around me I can’t believe she was so naughty. I think it is because she’s at that teenage stage and she doesn’t know my mum. My mum is never in my room and Belle isn’t allowed out of my room so they never really come into contact. My mum isn’t bothered by it though, she said it was her fault because she was in a rush and she just put her hands in the pen – but I’m still shocked that Belle did that!

The sweetest bun at the rescue (that I definitely am not attached too… ) boxed Andy yesterday. Then we found out after he’s been not so happy lately, part of it having to do with meeting potential adopters. Who turned out to not be good bunny people so the rescue turned them down for any adoptions (long story). Anyways, I’m hoping it was just his bad day. I want Andy to meet him on a good day to see.

The other sweet bun who Donna said is looking for a friend let us pet him non-stop. So Donna started the preliminary by rubbing a towel on him for us to take home and see how Bunjamin reacts. He sniffed it a lot and maybe re-arranged it but nothing aggressive. Although he did feel the need to leave some poos to remind the towel who’s space it was in

I’m planning on getting Belle a friend soon because I’m starting college and well.. I just want another bun! I want a lionhead though and there are none in the rescue near me – it only has five rabbits according to the website. So I have exciting news, I entered Bunjamin in this 24 hour contest for Small Pet Select with pics and a small bio and he was one of the many chosen, which is NBD right? BUT then they emailed me to tell me they’ve shared Bunjamin’s picture on their facebook page. My little man was a mini-celebrity. He got over 350 likes! I have some good news guys!  I’m getting a Lionhead bunny in October!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Either Chocolate or Lilac .  I’m so frikin’ excited .  Now I need to get Belle into the vet for her spay as soon as I can and buy bowls etc for the new arrival.  I’m going to be buzzing ’til October now.  I’ve wanted a lionhead for ages!!  It will just be a baby so I’m going to have to wait until it is old enough to be neutered until I can bond them.  Can you introduce a male to a spayed female when it is a baby or is it best to just wait until they are old enough?

I know, she’ll have a little husbun!  My mum kind of shot me down earlier and told me I need to calm down and ‘where am I getting all the money from’ and basically told me I’m not getting one :'(  But I’m paying for it – the things that you need for it (bowls, extra water bottle etc.) – the courier service to get it to me and all it’s food once I have it, so if I have enough money when october comes I will definitely buy one of the babies.  I think it will cost me about £150 in total if not less.

I am late to the party but would like to join in the conversation. =) IMO, Robyn, I think instead of buying a bunny from a breeder that it’s best to wait to find a rescue that has a lionhead. Either that or wait till a lionhead comes available to your rescue. I know it would be hard to wait. Anyways, whatever you do I know you’ll be a great bunmom to both bunnies! =)

Oh and PeppyPoo, sorry I took all the orchard grass!! LOL I swear the orchard grass is taking over my room/bunny room! =P

Wow, today wasn’t a good day. I don’t know what to do. Today was my only free day all week. I called the school’s counseling center to see if I could talk to someone. I want to work through my feelings and insecurities about my inability to get a job (or at least one that will put me in the right direction for my would-be career). Well, I get to my appointment only to find out that the counselor is a girl that I had a class with. She is a PhD student and this is like her assistantship. She isn’t a real counselor, yet. She asked me if that was going to be awkward. I was like “uh, it might be”. Then she asked if it was okay that our sessions were recorded because she is being monitored. =O So someone else might be listening to me talking to her. I thought at first that it might be okay. Then she started asking me a whole bunch of questions about some sensitive subjects for me, definitely not what I came there to talk about (although some of this stuff should be addressed some day). Now I am all weirded out. What do I do? I was hoping that this would make things better, but now I’m not so sure. I told my husband about it and he freaked out. He was like “don’t have have professionals working there?”

IR: Yay for new friend! How long after spaying Belle do you plan to get the bun? Remember that it does take a few months for the hormones to level out in a bun, so take that into consideration when bonding. Also, if you are going through a breeder (though I agree with Amy about rescue being your best bet. I know sometimes we have our hearts set on a certain breed, but it really is better in the long run) be prepared for the liklihood that Belle won’t take to the new bun since they didn’t “date” first. Just some food for thought, though!

I bought Peppy some oat hay instead. She’s never had it before and doesn’t seem super fond of it, but of course being her little piggy self she still grudgingly munches it. Every once in a while I can’t get my hands on orchard grass and buy a small bag of timothy instead, and immediately get crazy allergies and regret it haha. Gotta remember to stock up next time!

I get my hay from the rescue I got my buns from. They usually have the hay I need. =) This time around I bought a lot…probably more than I needed. LOL Oh well.

I was so excited today when the fedex man came. lol My mom had ordered some treats for my bunnies and they arrived today. Of course I had to give them one treat each. They loved them! Especially Valentine but she loves all food! haha. I also got the willow wreaths with foliage. They love that! =) Spoiled buns. I can’t wait until my order comes of the interactive toy I bought them. =D

Rascal is due to go to the vet for his teeth pretty soon now. I am hoping we can take him within the next two weeks. We have to drive really far because we are getting a second opinion on his teeth and the only other good rabbit vet is about an hour and a half away. It’s supposed to be a really good vet though.

Go back and book another session BUT explain to them that you need to speak to someone who is qualified and that whilst you find no fault with the other girl you feel it is an inappropriate situation and additionally that you require confidentiality and do not feel comfortable with having the sessions recorded for training purposes. You are not a Guinea Pig and you have made a reasonable request for assistance. I am sure that if explained to the PTB’s that you feel you cannot gain any benefit from the sessions as they are now as you do not feel able to discuss the issues under the current circumstances.

It made me feel a little sick afterward. It just didn’t feel right talking to her. Especially when she started digging. My family is really, REALLY messed up and I wasn’t ready to talk about it. People are often surprised when they get a little taste of the disfunction since I tend to hide it well. I guess I should see if I can see someone else. I signed the consent form to be recorded, so she probably thinks I am okay with it. I think it will be weird to say I don’t want to see her again, even if it is just to the receptionist. She will still know.

Peppy – Mine love oat hay. They munch the heck out of that stuff. Funny, they don’t really like orchard grass.

IR – I agree with the others that allowing your bun to pick out a friend is a better way to go. There is always the risk that a bun you pick out yourself is not going to get along with your current bun. Then again, I sort of just threw Leopold and Wooly together and they are fine.

I want to get Mimzy a husbun!! But unfortunately, it will have to wait until I move out into my own place Probably better that I have to wait anyway hehe. If I ever do get a second one, I think I’d like to take Mimzy to a rescue for some bunny dating. I haven’t found any bunny rescues around my area though, so I might just have to  contact the humane society here & see if they’ll contact me if someone ever brings one in. Would probably take longer to get my 2nd bun but I think I’d do it I would love to have a lionhead

My mom came home today with a few goodies for me! They had some 8×10 canvas packages on sale so she got me a total of 15 little canvases! And then also got a little something for Mimzy…a hay rack! It’s just one of those under-shelf wrap racks but I was so happy to not have to put her hay in the litter box anymore. I hooked it on the outside of her cage today so she could get the hay through her NIC grids and it works perfect

Next up…Mimzy gets spayed! Except I’m slightly broke right now after my trip, so I gotta save up! Hopefully I’ll be able to by end September. She’ll be 6 months then! oh my gosh D:

LBJ, counseling needs to be something that YOU feel comfortable with. If she is training for this to be her career, she should understand the importance of your comfort in the relationship, and shouldn’t take it personally. Don’t worry about what she might think; you are seeking counseling to relieve stressors, not to add to them.

Amy – I normally would go to a shelter too, but they have limited hours and it’s kind of an inconvenient drive for me, so I don’t make it as often as I wish I could .

Hi LBJ… If she is going into this line of practice she will have to get use to it. If it is done gently she should not be offended. Explain to her when you have the opportunity and also to the receptionist that following the session you still felt distressed and uncomfortable. Whilst you found no fault with the counsellor you feel that it is not going to be beneficial if you are unable to feel comfortable due to sharing a class etc, and you would like to speak to someone with greater experience. I am sure she will not be offende especially since she seemed to have an initial concern that you may feel uncomfortable or awkward being counselled by her due to your shared classes.

There is a siren that keeps going off outside my house and it’s freaking me out. It’s like one of those warning sirens, not a police one and I live right beside a navy nuclear base!! I’m probably letting my mind run away with me but I’m still a little on edge .

About getting my lionhead – I did look into getting rescue rabbits especially because they usually come neutered but none of the rabbits in my local rescue really call out to me and I want to get a rabbit that I really like when I see it, not just any rabbit because that’s all they have. I’m also pretty selfish about it and i want to experience the cute tiny fluffy stage too. I wish we had rabbit rescues where I live but I’ve only found 1 or 2 in the uk and they are in England, they sound much more common in America. I know I could wait until a lionhead does pop up in a rescue but I’ve never heard of anyone having pet lionhead rabbits here (I know people will have some but I just don’t think they are that common) so I could be waiting for years for one to come around. I might contact the lady and ask her if she’ll be having any litters next year (and keep an eye on the rescues in the time being). Now that I’ve thought about it I should probably wait until Belle has been neutered for a while and I have more than just enough money.

Last night I got bored and I had two spare grid panels so I added an extra level with one panel in the corner at half the height of the others and a ramp going up from that one to the other level with the other panel – it looks pretty cool .

Today is the first day of a new schedule for Cinnabun and I. A professor has asked me to TA his class so now I have to attend the class (the things I do for a paycheck…) which requires me to be out the door at 9am. Poor Cinnabun, she’s used to having me around until at least 11. I hope she isn’t too sad. I keep telling her I’ll be back in time for lunch and she can even have a banana bite for being a good girl.

BLAGGGGGG. Having 3 buns in the bratty teenage stage/hyper Tan mode is exhausting. I constantly have to chase one of them around because he’s constantly tearing at the carpet and he KNOWS it’s wrong but he’s doing it anyways and I can’t get him to stop for the life of me! Anyone have any ideas? I feel like spraying something on the carpet isn’t going to be worthwhile because he does it EVERYWHERE and we have to keep them in the carpeted area since pretty much our whole condo is carpet and their play area is much too big to put anything down over top of it. We could limit their space but since we have all Tans and they’re a “running” breed and our breeder told us they need some area to run around quite extensively (which has turned out to be very true – they run like nutcases EVERYWHERE) so we don’t want to limit their area to play.

I offered the breeder we got our buns from $100 to take the lilac Tan (the only bun that was left in our litter that she had decided to keep) but she still wants to keep him. Pfttttt – I want him sooooooo bad! But she said if she ever decides to sell him that she’ll sell him to us. I thought for sure $100 would convince her since she only sells them for $35. So I feel youuuu IR about not getting the bun you wanted either!

My buns are OBSESSED with the Oat Hay and since Oxbow doesn’t sell the big bags of oat hay we worked out a deal with one of our local pet shops so they give us a 10% discount when we buy it from them! And I’m finally beginning the switch from Young Adult Rabbit Food to Adult Rabbit Food. They grow up soooooo fast. AND we got our first small salad out of our AeroGardens soooo being the nice bunny momma I am — I gave it to the buns in their nightly salads! They LOVED it — I’ve never seen them goggle anything up that fast.

My husband and I are thinking of investing in a spray bottle for those times when we’re too exhausted to chase Ollie off the carpet for the 20th time. Do you think that would work for your situation? I’ve tried rubbing a vinegar mixture on the certain areas where Ollie chews. That works pretty good for me on those things, but I’m still trying to get him to stop tearing up the carpet. Nobody wants their carpet to smell like a pickle barrel!

That’s a good idea — I’ll try that and see how it works. I actually haven’t tried the spray bottle for bad behavior on any of the buns for anything so maybe it will work! Thanks, that technique really slipped my mind!

Tanlover! You really love your buns I can tell. lol But having three YOUNG bunnies really must be exhausting. I have two adult bunnies and love them to bits. I can’t wait to live on my own so they can have free roam of the house!

I am so tempted to have a third bunny but I can’t right now since that would be an added cost AND added space that I don’t have. I have just enough space for two bunnies lol Three would not fit. haha I wish I could adopt a third bunny, but not right now. Maybe when I move out I’ll adopt a couple. =)

Bumble Fly. I’ve used it. It works for the immediate solution but not long run. Sometimes Bunjamin won’t even stop if our hand is there. But there are some buns that like water so it could backfire and remember not to get them really wet. For bunjamin shaking the water bottle or spraying it near him but not directly on him works.

Awesome advice, thanks! Ollie is one of those stubborn bunnies too… I’m thinking about saving the water bottle only as a last resort kind of thing.

I do love them to death — but GOSH. They all teach each other the WORST habits and they’re in a bunny proofed area (except for the carpet) so OF COURSE they find the ONLY thing they need to leave alone… They used to be soooo good and then right before we got them neutered/spayed (at almost 5 months) they started getting their little ‘tudes and it hasn’t gone away yet even though it’s been 2 months since their spay. The breeder we got them from told me they’re all REALLY rowdy. All of her tans. The two boys I have I SWEAR have some kind of crack stored some wheres that they eat and then go nuts on when I let them go.

LPT: Those veggies all look great!! I really need to start a veggie garden or something…Only problem is I have no place to start one! I can’t dig in my backyard because of pipes. I can plant in planters though. =D

I have a big pot that I took from my aunt (well she let me have it) that I was supposed to paint but never did. I can use that to plant some veggies and then I have a small planter I can use. Do you think it’s too late in the season to start planting veggies?

I looked at the comments on the video. She says the vet approved all the items as long as they are in moderation. Um, I don’t think a vet would say a fruit roll up is okay… ever. If they snatched a piece of cereal, it isn’t the end of the world. If they eat gummy stuff like that, I can’t imagine it would be good.

A vet approved THAT?! Yeah right. -.- I can understand the cereal thing, though but not the gummy candy. I wouldn’t even give that stuff to my dog and dogs can tolerate a lot of foods way more than a bunny can.

Amy I think it’s still a good season to grow carrots and kale. =] It really just depends on the area. Have you thought of making a raised garden bed for gardening? They have some great ideason Pinterest on how to make cheap, nice looking beds. =]

That happened not so long ago at my place. I usually do nail trims at the end of the month/early time of the month because the Diva’s nails grow fast. She was not pleased at all and when I let her go, she flopped underneath my desk.

One of my regular customers came through my line today. She is also a house rabbit owner and I squeaked when I saw her scrubs! The scrub top had bunnies all over it

She told me that she found out that her male bunny was not neutered. She said that he is normally pretty chill and he bit her the other night, and she checked and found out that he was not in fact neutered! I also found out that SHE IS A VET, and will be doing her bunny’s neuter procedure tomorrow! OMG it was so cool!

This lady comes through my line every 2 weeks or so and buys carrot bunches and a bag full of italian parsley It makes me smile to know that there are house rabbit owners close by

Got my first paycheck as a TA. It’s not enough to cover my bills this month. I’m actually 3 dollars. I’m so tired of not knowing how I’m going to live week to week. If I didn’t have a completely full schedule, I’d consider another job…I’m starting to wonder if my advanced educational pursuits are worth it. One of those morning where I just want to sit in dark corner and cry. I normally don’t post my personal stuff on forums like this, but I needed some sort of vent for this.

So my parents are gone on vacation for the weekend and my mom left me a list of chores to do (just taking care of animals) BUT it was like so horrible. I have a cat who is at LEAST 18 years old and she has hyperthyroidism and probably some other problems that we have to check for when my parents get back. Well, the cat is so weird, I don’t know if she’s just not all there anymore or what. She poos on the carpet a lot of the time and her poos are not healthy so it makes it worse to pick up. But the worst thing is we know she can use the litter box because she uses it to pee. Her pee is like CEMENT! When I cleaned the box this morning I had to use all my muscle to get it out. =( I think my mom should call the vet back about that. Anyways, I was just so frustrated because I don’t normally have to clean up after cats…I just have my bunnies and dog. Then I had to take out the garbage and I walked right through a spider web and freaked out a little (I like spiders but not black widows) because It probably was a widow web! D= Sucks. My friend is coming over at around 11 am and I still need to clean the bathroom and get dressed…oh and not to mention eat breakfast. lol This weekend should be fun either way. My friend and I are going to have some margaritas and chalk dye our hair. (Don’t worry I’m of age to have drinks =P) Don’t know what else we’ll do but we’ll see! haha

Anyways, I guess I just needed to get that off my chest.

Good thing though, Rascal continues to groom Valentine and it was so cute this morning waking up and seeing that.

Oh I know how that is! It seems like they don’t know how much things cost when they determine your stipend amount. I remember having to work another job (which is technically a no-no) to get some extra cash since my bills and whatnot completely ate up my stipend each month. There way no way I was saving anything. I guess they just expect you to be poor as a grad student.

Amy- be careful with that chalk. It can go everywhere easily and a lot of that stuff stains sinks. A little hairdressers tip is if it’s white sink, rub vaseline on it when rinsing your hair. The color won’t stick to vasaline. And magic eraser’s work pretty well too

I’m a busy gal. I’ve got my friends bday thing tomorrow and barbeque up north with the family sunday (while working bc anytime im in town I have to cut everyones hair). On top of that I am also going to have to figure out how to do all my assignments for class :/ Wish me luck! Or free-time. Either works

Yeah!  that chalk was MESSY!!!!  I don’t think I’ll be doing that again!  lol  It got literally all over my bathroom but I think it was my friend who did that part because she put soooooo much chalk in her hair it was ridiculous!  Oh well, it’s clean now.  haha
