**Warning: An unrequested lesson on wombats ahead**
The Wombat (Vombatus ursinus) is a mammal native to Australia. It has a stout body, a large blunt head, short, muscular neck and stubby, powerful legs. They also have sharp rodent-like incisor teeth to chew through roots, they are great diggers/burrowers. They are mainly crepuscular and nocturnal and survive on a herbivore diet of grasses, herbs, bark and roots. Their fur colour can be a light brown to brown – grey and even black. They are commonly pictured as grey-brown coloured.
