anyone up for a game? would you rather…

okay… so i’m back at work after having last week off and my manager is off sick.  i’m ridonkulously bored.  wanna play a game?

my sis got this board game called “would you rather…” and there are cards with scenarios.  lots of them are seriously gross and some are thought provoking.  here is an example:

would you rather… get a 10 million dollar settlement from a theme park for being injured on one of their rides (injuries completely healed 5 years later) OR never have had the accident at all?

others:

would you rather… hold a live cockroach in your mouth for 5 minutes OR lay naked on top of a termite nest for one hour?

would you rather… have to pee really badly or be really itchy?

Hmmm….well, to answer those 3:

1. Never be injured at all;
2. Well, that’s a hard one but I think the termite one – they chew wood and not human flesh don’t they?;
3. Well, I usually have to pee badly alot anyway so I’ll go with that one – I also figure I can go to the bathroom and the problem will be solved – itching may take awhile longer to be resolved if it’s something like poison ivy or a rash or something awful like that.

Hmmm.
1. I might have to go with the money. As much as being injured would stink, if I was better in 5 years it wouldn’t be so bad. The problem is that at the time of injury (and during those 5 years) you certainly don’t know that you’ll ever be healed. That would be the worst part.

2. Cockroach.

3. Probably having to pee? I’ve felt that way before and dealt with it. I’ve never been really itchy, but I imagine it would be awful.

1… tough call. think i’d go for the money too. if i was to be better within 5 years i could tough it out knowing there’d be a pay out.

2… cockroach… purely a time consideration since all bugs freak me out.

3… i can handle the pee badly urge so i’d go with that one. being itchy sucks.

1: well, hard to say. With me dealing with an injury now as it is that may be permanent… hmmm…. depends on the injury. Knee injuries suck. Money if it isnt my knee! lol

2: Oh god. Bugs freak me the heck out. I pick option 3: shoot me instead lol.

3: pee. itching is horrid, having to pee not so much.

1: I’d have to go for the settlement, as long as the injury wasn’t permanent. I could deal with some pain and aggravation for 5 years for that much money. Afterall, isn’t that what going to work is, just for much less money? lol!

2: Termites all the way. The mere thought of roaches makes me gag. I hate the more than anything on earth, probably. I almost agree with Monkey – I’d rather a bullet.

3: Pee, for sure. The worst that happens is that you pee your pants. Itching is terrible.. I got a tanning bed burn one time that itched so badly I would just pass out from the pain. It was like the burn went through the top layers of my skin and you couldn’t see any signs of burn until the first few layers of my skin finally came off all at once. It was so intense because the burn was underneath the skin and I could reach it to soothe it all. It was like being on Morphine X 1000. Not getting near a tanning bed ever again.

I think I’d go for the money, because who wouldn’t take an average income of 2mil a year over what measly sums I currently get lol.

1. Id go for the money. I like money, I like being lazy and sleeping so I could handle it for 5 years.

I’d like to go a little bit further with these questions if I may. I like to play the “How Much” game more than “Would you rather” game. For example:

1 – Assuming all medical and living expenses are paid, how much would you take for an injury that left you on crutches for 5 years – pain is manageable with medicine
2 – How much would you want to eat a live cockroach – one of the big African hissing cockroaches?

For me –
1 – would be $100,000 – I could probably be talked down to $75K if I didn’t need to wear any sort of cast or brace.
2 – I’d probably do it for $150. I know that’s disgusting but I’ve seen other people do it and for the extra money, I’m willing to go cheap.

You would take only $100,000 for an injury that left you incapacitated for 5 years? That’s not much money at all for that many years when you would be out of work for all that time even if all living and medical expenses are paid. I guess if you had a very good financial planner to help you invest the money then that might be okay and that’s assuming you could get a job after 5 years too. Of course the question doesn’t assume that you would be TOTALLY incapacitated – it’s very vague as a matter of fact.

I would just hate being incapacited no matter how much $$$. Some pain meds over time can make people have other health problems… it would be a drag for me to be injured in an accident.
And, not peeing can give you stones… were there no bushes in Greece to hide behind?

Termites And Cockroaches are both awesome, but can I keep my clothes on?!?!?! Peeing sounds much less annoying than being itchy, and I dont like getting hurt, so I would just rather plod along with no money lol

Not sure about the other two… but as someone who was badly injured in accident, required surgery, still has chronic pain, AND received a settlement (albeit… not THAT MUCH MONEY!) I have to say I’d go with not being injured.
