I just got one of the Samsung models of the GoPhone from my hubby this Xmas. I’ve got it all set up and activated, no fancy wallpapers or ringtones, just waiting to be used when we go to town. It has a small minutes package on it, that I can call anywhere in the world with for $3.00 per day. Here’s the problem:
I have given NO ONE the number. This morning, the phone rings! 0_0 Of course, I answer it, thinking there might be some kind of message from AT&T I have to listen to. But it turns out to be some (I think) bill collector looking for someone else! (What the…??) I tell them wrong number and hang up. My phone then tells me I’ve been billed the $3.00 charge for the day! How do you like that?! *fumes*
I can’t find ANY live body to speak to either on the site or on the phone itself (their free help is definitley an example of you get what you pay for) to see about getting this resolved or get my money back. A) I was under the impression this was a NEW number. B) They’re got some cheek charging me for 15 seconds on the phone like that. C) It wasn’t even someone I WANTED to talk to! (grrr!)
So I’m thinking I’m going to remove the battery from the phone and that way, until I need it, I won’t be answering it thinking there’s someone I know trying to get hold of me. But I’m not sure that won’t wipe out my activation and then either make the phone useless, or I’ll have to re-activate it all over again…if that can even be done. >_<
Does anyone else have one of these blasted things? I was so looking forward to feeling better about being able to get ahold of the hubby in an emergency, but this is ridiculous!
