I got interested in geocaching earlier this year and finally found a bunny related geocoin. i need to decide on a ‘mission’ for this bunny before I send her out into the world to wander so I’m looking for suggestions.
For those who haven’t done it before, geocaching is what geeks and nerds do when they go outside…lol. Or like my favorite t-shirt says, “I use million-dollar government satellites to find grudgy tupperware in the woods”. People hide containers from the size of a gallon bucket to a tiny metal pill bottle and post the coordinates on the geo website. Other geeks go out with handheld gps’ and try to find them so they can sign the log book and trade out swag and bling from the Dollar Store and brag about how many you find.
Some are easy to find, some are downright evil (they look like a rock, a piece of chewing gum or a screw on a signpost).
A geo coin is a ‘traveler’, it has a unique tracking code number, as each person finds it in a cache, they carry it to another and log it in so it’s travels can be followed online. Usually they have a ‘mission’ and you don’t take it unless you can help it find it’s destination….but most just wander all over the world.
I just bought this one off Ebay, two people who cache together had a special coin struck featuring a pet bunny that belongs to one of them (Shadow’s friend and NOSNOW) so Shadow must be a really special bunny!
I want to register it and send her on a mission (she looks a lot like my Pringles), maybe to BinkyBunnies area or SaveABunny or anywhere bunny people might find her. Any suggestions?
