  I’m in Tennessee- we’re okay here but I have lots of friends whose family’s homes were destroyed.
  
  I want to maybe try to help out when I get out of school next week if they still need it down there? They helped us out during the flood here last year. Maybe I will find a bunny rescue to help out at. Its not a long drive- just like 2 or 3 hours.

  Just found the Alabama ears twitter– they said the bunnies and all the volunteers are okay!

  I’m in Northern Alabama in Florence. A lady who does great things for guinea pig and rat rescues lost her home and all of her guinea pigs and rats that we know of as of now. Her daughter was hurt but in the hospital right now. We believe she had between 8-10 adopted guinea pigs and probably at least 6 ratties.
  
  My husband’s aunt is in ICU with scalp laceration and her live in boyfriend died in the tornados.

  Man, I’m sorry !! I would be absolutely heartbroken if I lost my pets in a storm like that.

  I don’t know if it’s allowed to mention but her username is Weaver and they are taking donations on guinealynx.com for her. There is a link to a guinea pig rescue I could post a link for. She’s an awesome lady and they were lucky just to get the humans out alive. Her daughter is off of oxygen(punctured lung) and I believe a broken shoulder. They didn’t even have shoes on their feet when they fled their house. Only the dog made it out of the house with them and the dog was injured too.
  
  I have personally talked with her on the phone a while back and she is a very lovely person with a big heart for animals. Even though going through the loss of their house down to the concrete slab they went out there today and found all of the guinea pigs but one. Out of them all, four were still alive and okay from what I understand. They found 6 ratties. Three were okay, one needed vet attention and two were already gone. I believe 10 ratties were still missing.
  
  They are going back tomorrow to see if they can find the rest. I believe her son had a pair of dwarf hamsters too.
