  I am super excited to share this with people who understand. Taking a positive step forward with my new bun just feels so good!
  
  This morning as I was studying, Mimosa hopped into my lap for treats. Ok so no big deal, he’s been doing that for a while, so I gave him some of his daily pellet ration. Usually when he finishes, he’ll hop away, but this time he actually cuddled with me for a good five minutes! He sat in my lap while I scratched his head and cheeks, and then he did another thing that surprised me. He buried his head between my arm and body and started tooth purring! I feel special and honored that he feels safe and content with me. Absolutely nothing can ruin my day today because my bun made me happy this morning, I love him so much

  That’s great! It gives me hope about the future with Bumpy, seeing as the only reason he seems to have any use for me right now is as his own personal chef. lol

  Yeah don’t give up hope, MM!!! For a while I thought Mimosa only saw me as a source of food and pets instead of his companion. What I’ve been doing to try and change that is sitting down with him when he eats his veggies and hand feeding him pellets. When I started doing that he started cuddling next to my leg more and grooming me.
  
  I’ve been hand feeding him his pellets in small handfuls throughout the day. I started on the floor with him. He would jump into my lap, and I would try to pet him while he was eating. But as soon as he finished he would hop away. I kept at it and would give him 1-2 pellets when he hung out by my feet at my desk. Of course 1-2 is never enough so he started jumping onto the footstool I have by my chair. I fed him pellets there one at a time. Two days ago he jumped in my lap for pellets. When I tried petting him, he hopped away. And then today happened, and I am so ecstatic. I brought Mimosa home from the shelter almost two months ago, so I feel pretty lucky that he and I are getting along quickly. I cannot wait to see where we will be months or even years from now.
