I finally got around to scrubbing down the plastic bottom of the cage and the plastic slats on the bottom. I was literally scraping caked on stuff off of the bottom of the slats
. The water and vinegar seemed to work pretty well though. I just let it soak for about an hour.
After everything was dry I packed the cage in the car. We also took 2 bales of hay, 2 bags of rabbit food, and some toys. Then we left to take everything to the humane society. It was my luck that the lot was FULL the first time I went in! I was determined to drop everything off because I drove from my house and endured nasty Saturday traffic… I was going to make this trip WORTH IT! Luckily for me I was able to get a space immediately after circling the block one more time. I wonder why the lot was so full? People adopting I hope… and not dropping off.
I really would’ve loved to give everything to a rabbit shelter but I couldn’t very well afford to send the cage out of state! So the humane society would suffice. There are a few bunnies on their website that the stuff might help. I noticed a few more are gone from the site, hopefully they went off to a new home… and not you know…
Anyways, my apologies I got off track. Just wanted to say that I cleaned everything out today. I’m glad the stuff is gone and hopefully going to good use. I’ve learned a lot from BB and while I think my bunny was happy there is a lot of room for improvement. So if there is a next time it will be all new stuff so I have no need for the cage.
