Hi all!
Two years ago I adopted an ex-breeding French Lop buck. He was six at the time and showing his age – I didn’t think we’d have long together, but I set him up in my kitchen with a crate, a litter box, plenty of hay and some exciting new toys. Being a Marvel geek, I named him Bucky.
Within a few weeks he was a different bun; he’d slimmed down and gained bags of energy. He also got very particular about his setup, and would let me know when he was bored of a certain toy by flinging it out of his crate!
These days he has free range in the kitchen; the counters are too high for him to jump onto, and we don’t have anything plugged in at floor level, so he’d struggle to get into mischief. He does like to hang out with me – I sit with him every day when I’m having a cup of tea, and he listens as I tell him about my day – but he doesn’t seek out cuddles and he’ll never be a “soppy” bun.
As for me, I’m Ally and I’m from Lancashire in the UK. I’ve had rabbits since I was a child so it was the first thing I wanted to do when I got my own house – and when I found out about Bucky, I couldn’t say no
