Aggressive bunny

Theo has recently turned into an aggressive little monster and I’m at my wits end for what to do about it. He’s bitten my bf seriously once, and continually tries to do it again, for no discernable reason, and he’s bitten me quite badly a couple of times, drawing blood several times, the last one was pretty serious. He also seems to hang on and pull when he gives serious bite. As I’ve said, it seems like there’s no reason for the behaviour,though I think the last time was because I didn’t respond within two seconds of him asking for pets. He was neutered about a week and a half ago and his behaviour is escalating rather than staying at a steady level or improving.
I’m not sure what to do about him, most of the time, he’s really sweet, and then he attacks you with no warning – and I’ve been watching for warning signs. My bf has to wear about 3 layers when he tries to interact with the little demon, and is understandably uncomfortable with him, I’m starting to feel like I can’t trust him, and the thought of introducing him to Puck terrifies me, even if his hormones are all out of his system, because he just snaps for no reason and Puck is so much small smaller and has never really shown any aggressive behaviour.
I’ve never liked labelling an animal nasty or vicious but it’s the only way to describe him

It takes awhile for the hormones to die down so you need to give it a few months and in the meantime, just ignore him I think unless he wants your attention and then by all means give it to him. Also stay out of his “territory” if he has a condo or pen or some enclosure while he’s there.

So should we not sit in with him when he’s having playtime? ’cause that’s when he gets pets and cuddles – we’ve made a point of not going into his crate at all when he’s around.
Also, is it possible that my monthly cycle sets him off?

I don’t think rabbits react to human cycles.
Sarita just doesn’t want you to sit in the pen with him. But if he’s hopping around a room, you can sit there and just be available in case he’s wanting to interact, just not in the pen, which it sounds like you already know, given you aren’t letting him see you go into his crate.
You ought to commisserate with Patrick. He’s going nuts with a bun that sounds just like yours. He even calls him a demon. It’s so weird, as rabbits aren’t typically so brutal, at least not in my experience.
And remember treats are your friend! Any good bunny treats hand fed can’t hurt (I hope!!)
