        Hi there!

So I recently got my bunny, Remi, neutered. It’s been about a month and he’s always been a bit nippy with me. I’ve been doing lots of research on Rabbit aggression, and for the most part, he’s calmed down quite a bit. So lately the problem has been that he likes to cuddle with me. He loves to lay everywhere, and one night i was laying on my couch while he was out and about, and he hopped up and snuggled right up next to me and didnt move for almost 40 minutes as i petted him. This has happened several times since then, but sometimes he’ll freak out and bite me. I’ve tried the thing where you make a high pitched “eep” sound, but whenever i do that, it seems to make it worse! He growls and tries to bite again. He follows me everywhere and he’s never really aggressive in any other situation. Ive only had him for about two months though and I think maybe he’s still adjusting to me. I would greatly appreciate any advice anyone has because im so lost with what to do!

I think he’s still adjusting. My Yohio loved to cuddle, but he could also suddenly get startled and growl, box at and/or nip me. Like he was suddenly distrustful of me. The next moment, he could put his chin back on the ground for more head-rubs, though. This aggressive/defensive behavior wore off with time.

Maybe he falls asleep when you pet him? They have a third eyelid that’s translucent so they can sleep even if their eyes look fully open, probably an advantage for a prey animal, predators think you’re awake even when you aren’t.

My rabbit is aggressive when we go into his cage. He is not neutered and I’m not quite sure how to calm him down

Thank you! Hearing it from someone else makes me feel much better. I’ve been trying to remain as calm as possible when he does and I always pet him after. Last night i tried talking to him in a sweet voice when he growled and that seemed to help him calm down. Im hopeful that in time he doesn’t do it at all!
