Back in March my apartment manager gave us two domestic bunnies that were abandoned. She knows we have lots of pets that we have rescued. We built them a hutch that they shared. A month later we discovered we had a male and female and now had 4 baby bunnies. We quickly went to get another hutch and separated the male and female. Everything had been fine with the babies and the mommy. Now 4 weeks later we notice that the mommy bunny is building another nest (I guess we didn’t separate them fast enough). But today when I went in to feed the bunnies I noticed the mother was charging at the babies. She kept doing it every time the babies got near her nest. I got scared an pulled all the babies out.
My worry now, is do the 4wk old bunnies still need their mother. Do they still need to nurse. They eat pellets and hay and drink from the water bottle on their own. I don’t know if I should put them back in with the mom or keep them separated. Please help.
