Advice for bunny being left alone more

I am soon transitioning from being student to working. As a student, I was home a lot during the day and being that my bunny and I share a room, he is used to me bring around pretty often.

Does anyone have any experience moving from being home often to being gone most of the day? 

What changes should I expect in behavior/health/happiness of my bun? 

Any advice for me or my bunny is appreciated! Thanks!

I had a similar situation with Charlie. When I first got her I was home a lot because my class schedule allowed for it, but then a few months later my schedule got much more full and I was working on top of it. She’s done surprisingly well. I’m gone mostly during the day so it’s when she’s napping/relaxing anyways so it’s not a big deal. I do wake up at least 20 minutes earlier than I need to so she has about 45 minutes of running around upstairs with me and some time to spend with me so she’s not alone all day. Then I tuck her away for the day in her room with lots of toys to keep her busy and leave her. When I get home she’s always excited to see me, so I open up her door and let her hop around while I do homework or clean etc. Then she goes back in for dinner time and comes back out while I shower/finish homework for about two hours before bed.
I think that making sure your bun gets a lot of exercise time/time to be with you is the key here. You can’t be with them all day, and thats OK but just make sure that when you are home you’re giving them that attention. I would say Char gets at least 3 hours minimum out of her room and with me each day. It doesn’t have to be all at once, but it’s nice for them to get out of their room/cage/whatever and it’s important that they have that boding time with you.
I just always try to make what I’m doing something that she can be with me for. If I’m doing homework she comes on my bed, if I’m cleaning she’ll hop around with me – and sometimes she just goes right back into her room so I’ll bring my work in there with her.

Sorry for the long winded response, but this was something I was really nervous about when it was me You’ll find the time, and you could always consider getting another bunny if it’s an option for you – it wasn’t for me, and Charlie is just fine

Thank you! That is great information. I guess it will just have to be something we adjust to. We share a room, he has an expen that he stays in so it will be easy to spend time with him when I am home. As far as getting another bun, right now that is not feasible though I did consider it!
