  I am considering bringing a third rabbit into my home. This rabbit has been treated for E.C., and is mostly doing really well despite the head tilt. They are having trouble finding him a home due to the head tilt, and he has really been pulling at my heart strings. I have the time and resources to dedicate to a third rabbit.
  
  My main concern is my two other rabbits. I have two female rabbits who have been bonded for several years. What is the likelihood that adding a new rabbit would disrupt the bond that these two already share? Neither rabbits are aggressive and are typically friendly with other animals in the house (previous roommates, etc..) If need be, I have the ability to separate them. And if all three never bond completely that will be okay, as I can still care for the third on my own. But I would hate to have three single rabbits. So I guess I am just asking for some objective advice. I know I could provide for the third rabbit but I am worried about the impact it would have on my two bunnies I already have.

  It shouldn’t change the bond that is already there between the two females. Not sure if the third is male or not, but I know it’s doable. Some personalities work best or are easier to bond than others. You could always ask to try something temporary to see if it works. I know that I have seen articles online for different bonding situations, including 3 bunnies involved. All bunny bonding info available online is how I bonded my 2.
  
  Just make sure that all of the rabbits are spayed/neutered, if they’re not. I’m guessing they are, but just to make sure! Is one female more dominate than the other?
  
  Sometimes, adding a personality to the mix will make one bun more dominant and I’ve also heard that it’s not unusual to see humping (displays of dominance) in more than one.
  
  The only way to be sure is to try to see if it works. What is often hard with the temporary length that’s allowed is that some buns can take months to bond. Mine took about a month. So don’t feel defeated if this is the case!

  Adding a third bun can completely destroy an existing bonded pair. I would keep the 3rd separate and get him a friend later on. I personally wouldn’t want to risk disrupting a happy pair.
