Accessories for Tote Carrier

Ok so I know these arent recommended but they absolutely work with my fluffykins. I’ve got the tote carrier recommended by Lennon the bunny on YouTube (love her and 101 rabbits btw)!! And fluffykins is fine in there. I don’t worry too much about being in a car accident as to be honest if I was to start preparing for that frankly preparing for it with my 2 kids in the back would drive me so crazy… I doubt I’d ever get into a moving vehicle again haha

I love the tote carrier as fluffykins is right under my arm, being hugged by my body and it just feels much safer and snugglier then having him in my plastic carrier. I used to carry my 2 kids in body slings too so I guess I’m just into these more “organic” ways of carrying babies.

Anyway, fluffykins loves to nibble whilst out in the tote and I take a very small handful of his pellets with me as treats, as well as a small bag of romaine lettuce or some herbs. He eats all this fine. I’ve also taken some of his hay with me when I went to my mum’s and he sat on my lap whilst I hand fed some of the hay. This was quite tedious (if darling)! I’d like to give him constant access to the hay inside the tote but other then just dumping a handful in there, is there some sort of contraption I could use for inside the carrier that will contain the hay?

Previously I’ve stuffed the hay into one of his toy sisal balls and he might nibble the hay for a bit but I think he gets fed up of the ball that keeps rolling around so ends up ignoring it. Mostly he just sits down and stretches out when I’m carrying the tote; as soon as I put it down he knows I’m about to open it and fuss over him so comes right up to the opening part haha. I’d like something small I could leave the hay in there and he can choose to nibble or not when he’s lying down like that whilst the tote is moving.

If it works for you and Fluffykins, I don’t see a problem with the carrier!

As for hay, maybe you could cut some slots into a toilet paper roll and stuff it with hay? It will be easier to pull out than the ball but will still keep it somewhat contained. Also cheap and easy to replace.

So I’ve lined the inside of the bag with a puppy pee pad. Then I’ve got a long and thin pet cushion type thing, so he’s not so deep in the bag – this is machine washable. Wrapped on top of that is a fleece. So 3 layers

HOWEVER, he doesn’t pee in the bag only poops (which I am SO thankful for). Whenever we get to our destination I have a fold flat litter tray (It’s actually a camping washing up dish but it works perfect for this) which I bring out, fill with hay and a small puppy pad and just let him sit in that and munch the hay.
