I haven’t been posting a lot lately, I’ve been crazy busy with work, kids, studies and family stuff. Anyway, just wanted to share some pictures and info about a trip we took to my mother’s place (by car, with bunnies), 200km away from our home. My mom lives in an apartment, a small one, so we couldn’t take a huge cage with us, just a square meter, but the buns got lots of exercise and excitement nevertheless. Both bunnies are a bit shy and scared, so they didn’t really want to stay too far away from me or my girls when they were free, and so the best pictures I got were these:
The first time out since the car ride. Nelli is sitting on my lap and Malla is trying to fit herself on my lap as well, so I’m petting her to comfort her.
I laid on my back on the sofa, so both buns could fit to sit on me. Here’s Malla sitting on my tummy.
Here you can see Nelli’s face. They are climbing over my daughters and jumping on the sofa.
After some good hopping and cuddling… small cage, but they were ok for a couple of days (says the bunny slave who is feeling guilty).
Some flopping as well. Malla has her head sideways, it’s not so clear, but her top ear is hanging in a funny way.
Here’s a picture taken with flash… the bunnies look more grey than brown. This is just before going to sleep the second night, there’s my daughter sitting on the right and giving some comfort for the bunnies, as my mom is sitting on the left and they were a bit afraid of her.
Here Malla decided to be brave and go to say hi to my mom… I love this type of move the buns do when they are curious but careful, head going up and down, with slow forward steps. Nelli, however, decided that my daughter was enough excitement.
The bunnies handled the trip quite well, especially on the way back. First they were really afraid in the car, but after some time they just slept. When we returned they settled quite quickly and slept almost the whole way back. I’m so happy we took them with us!
