A survey I am just curious

How many of you feed your bunnies once a day and how many feed them twice a day?

I don’t know how to put this in survey form

Hmm ok, I used to feed Bumpy his pellets in a cat treat ball so he had to work for it, in the morning. Then in the evening I would give him his veggies. Hay of course in constant supply, and a treat of some sort, almost everyday.

What I’ve been doing LATELY is instead of giving him his pellets in the cat ball, I give those by hand throughout the day, so he lets me spend bonding time with him. He’ll come to me several times a day begging for them and allowing me to pet him. The only problem I’m having now is he is trying to con me out of more pellets and I haven’t been setting aside his daily amount in a separate container, so he is getting more pellets than he should be (I think). I need to buckle down on that, because he’s not eating as much hay as before.

I had tried to divide his veggies up to morning and evening, but again, I had hay eating issues.

So in closing… hay all day, pellets pretending to be treats about 4 times a day, and veggies in the evening!

Lola gets her veggies divided into morning and evening. She gets her pellets in the morning and of course hay and water all day too. She does on occasion have hay eating problems as well so I am in the process of cutting down on her pellets to see if that helps, if not will have to cut down on the veggies too.

I give Simba a treat (timothy hay based or vitamin) and his pellets in the morning and then pellets in the evening before I go to sleep. He gets veggies and occasional treat or pellet during playtime after I finish dinner. He’s pretty good with eating his all-day supply of hay throughout the day along with his water. I just find that giving him pellets in the evening causes less demand for attention while I’m sleeping (less noise from rearranging cage furniture) lol

I enjoy reading your responses.  I cut back on cottons pellets too.  He ate more hay but lost weight so i am feeding his regular amount again.

Looks like bunnies are getting their food twice a day with unlimited hay.

Cotton gets measured pellets 2x a day hay is unlimited but i freshen it up so its 2x a day and vegies when we eat our salads.  He doesnt beg as much that way. Hahahaha.

Both of my rabbits get fed in the morning and evening. The get about 3 cups of vegg in the morning and evening, 2.5 tablespoons of pellets in the morning and evening, and fresh hay in the morning and evening, but they get there water refills in the morning or whenever needed.

Pellets twice a day sprinkled around. Hay all the time. Lettuce in the evening. I usually give them lettuce while bonding or running around and pellets in their cage as I’m going to bed so they quiet down.
