Hi everyone! I’m Shannon, an avid bunny lover and a very new mama.

A year or so ago, my partner who lived hwere said we can buy new bunnies when they moved into their own house, and sure enough, they did! We got Harper and Oreo, two gorgeous dwarf <g class="gr_ gr_238 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="238" data-gr-id="238">bunnies,</g> after they had settled in. Harper was the first one we bought, but I knew immediately that he would benefit from a bunny friend, and as he and Oreo had been raised in the same enclosure, we went back and got him the next day! They clicked just like <g class="gr_ gr_916 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep" id="916" data-gr-id="916">that,</g> and were happy to run around and snuggle, groom and love each other, as well as us. Oreo, unfortunately, passed for unknown reasons, and poor Harper obviously had problems with it, so we had to give him more attention than ever!! My partner moved back to their home country, and Harper has a new home with one of their workmates, but I've been told he's happy!&nbsp;<img src="/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/BB_Theme/emoticons/biggrin.gif"></p>

But I wasn’t! I missed having bunnies so much. Harper and Oreo weren’t the most cuddly of creatures, but they were funny and a joy to be around. I have a labrador cross, so I knew there was no way I could have a bun of my own in my parents’ home with us, but my new baby girl just had to come with me. Her owners were moving and unable to take her, so I begged and begged, and my gran took her in! She lives just shy of four minutes away from me, and she’s always home, so I knew my baby would have company there. We took Poppy in just a couple of days ago, and her shyness was obvious, but only three days in and she’s cuddling in my lap and nipping me for attention whenever she’s out and running about! I’ve never seen such an affectionate and loving rabbit like her – she even sits on my pillow on the floor when I’m off to the kitchen, keeping it warm for me! <3

Poppy is a lone rabbit, thirteen months old, not yet spayed (but planned, I’m aware female bunnies have complications later) and we think she’s some sort of Holland Lop! Her previous owners didn’t seem to know much about her, but she’s been spoiled rotten with toys and good treats since being with us. My gran has a back garden we plan to kit out with a play pen for her, and we’re planning to convert her laaarge spare room into a place for me to stay over, and more importantly, a giant playground for Poppy! Of course, having seen first hand how bunnies need a little friend, I’m going to see if I can convince my gran to adopt another rabbit after Poppy is settled and we’ve completed renovations.

I wrote so much, but I really hope to learn to become a part of this community and better myself as a bunny mama! I visit her for hours daily, she’s such a treasure, I just need to share my life with her. TT I want to hear everyone else’s stories and tips and tricks! Oh, and this is Poppy!

Hi! She’s gorgeous! That’s so awesome that your gran took her in . Poppy sounds like she has a lot of personality. You will definitely have great times together.

Precious Poppy! She seems about as home as you can get in that lap. You are in for some good times!!! It is wonderful your gran took her in and is making space for her with staying over space included for you. I’m sure you are probably already aware but just in case you are not, the BUNNY INFO tab above has a lot of good info regarding those tips and tricks. Welcome to you both again!

Hello! Thank you so much for the warm welcomes. Both of your bunnies are absolutely adorable!!
Poppy has so much personality, and she’s only getting more demanding for attention! I couldn’t be more happy to give her it. I’ll definitely run through the bunny info tab and the house bunny threads to familiarise myself – I can’t wait to read everyone’s stories.
