He goes in first thing tomorrow (4/4) for his dental. Could you all send him good vibes for a quick and successful molar filing and as little discomfort as possible post-op, please?
I’ll also ask for some more vibes for my Griffy cat here if you don’t mind, he’s still struggling with his recovery from a messed up dental a month ago. Antibiotic has given him a very bad stomach/diarrhea and he’s hardly eating and yet won’t take anything I normally give for relief. ![]()
Thanks guys…got an early jaunt to town tomorrow, so I’m off to bed! ![]()
Hope everyone had fantastic weekends! ![]()
We’ll be thinking about you and your fuzzy family. I hope everything goes as well as possible!!
::hug::
Aw bunny teefs! I hope they feel all right! <3
I always have good thoughts and vibes heading your way
Good luck tomorrow! And Griffy will be back to himself soon, you just see ![]()
((((Mimzy and Griffy))))))) Good luck at the vet. Let us know how Mimzy makes out.

Vibes for Mimzy & Griffy.
Maybe it’s over by now and he’s home sweet home?

Wow…looong day! ^_^ Thanks to everyone sending vibes, as usual, BB.com vibes are the best and proved to help my furbabies out a great deal today.
There was actually another bunny waiting to have it’s teeth done this morning as well. I wonder if Mimzy got to nose-wiggle at it?
His molar trim went swimmingly.
My favorite doctor was there to pick him up when I dropped him off in the A.M. (I hate those between 7:30-8 calls for drop-off, but my hub was kind enough to drive us) and also there to release him to me this evening. (The receptionist techs all know me by sight now, jeez…) She called me about 1 PM to tell me he’d come through the procedure just fine, but he’d had some huge molar spurs on his lowers-she’d never seen ones that big. She lamented that they had no photo equipment, I guess it would’ve been a stellar teaching opportunity…my animals seem to be the center of that at this practice…*smirk*
She began by grinding and realized it would’ve taken her hours, so she clipped them instead. Not my favorite method due to how it can split a molar to the root, but I agree we didn’t want him under anesthesia too long.
He has lost some more weight, he’s down to about 3.135 pounds? (I think it was a standard scale) He actually has flabby arm skin from his forefeet down to his hocks that remind me of my own flapping underarms…lolz.
We did some bloodwork (he’s got a nice bee sting on his left ear) since he’s been peeing and pooping all over his night habitat, clearly avoiding the litterbox once it’s the last bit soiled, so she checked his kidneys. They are fine. I think I’ll have to find him a pan with lower sides so he doesn’t have to hop in and out…he isn’t doing that too well these days. I’ve had to remove his sleeping shelf, this he is not pleased with. He needs a bigger litterbox too. If there’s the slightest spot dirty in it he won’t use it anymore. And today I saw one of his cecals for the first time, so he’s still not up to turning around and eating those yet.
He seems little skittish tonite (just checked on him) so I’m going to watch him carefully, but for the most part he seems better off by far than Griff was when he came home.
Oh…and speaking of litter boxes…there was no cluelessness this time with our visit except for someone taking his carrier litterbox away and cleaning it out, so he had-literally-nowhere to go on the ride home. 0_o
When I did get him home he was soaked in urine on his backside…I had no choice, it was butt-bath time. I have never done this with Mimzy. And although he was already munching hay and relatively lucid on the homeward drive (awake enough to thump and bang about the carrier to protest daddy’s ‘driving skillz’) he actually just let me put him under the tap and then after a good rinse, dry him with the blow dryer.
Of course, once he realized I was taking him back into his beddy room, he got a little feisty, but on the whole he’s done quite well today handling wise. He did fall asleep in his litter pan tonight for awhile, something he doesn’t usually do, but like I said, his mobility is down if he’s not kicking the crap out of me while I’m washing his fanny, so he was just too wiped to come out for his nap.
We didn’t get metacam this time, (luckily I still have some here, but it’s over a year old) because Doc was pretty sure he wasn’t going to need it with how he was already eating well. I put a crock in for the next few days for water. He can’t be interested in drinking from his sippy bottle. He also got some fresh greens and parsley, so he’s living high on the hog…so to speak. I do have Critical Care in case he should need it.
I brought home some new probiotics for Griff’s upset tum, but it’s hard to get them in him. He’s hiding from me right now in anticipation (more like dread) of his next dose of clavamox. Doc seems to think he’s coming along well, despite the diarrhea. Her own cat gets it from this, but Griff is a long hair, and not as amicable about having HIS bum washed if it comes to it.
As for me, well as long as Mimz sleeps through the night well, I hope to get some good sleep too. I am really zonked. I need to catch up on some serious zzz’s. Between worrying about today’s appointment and Griff still being unwell, I am not resting the way I should be.
I made the mistake of running through Petco today too, to fetch a cat toy that had a bar code on it since the clerk was too lazy to get one himself. I feel like I ran that 10 K that livingonfaith was talking about in the chat thread! >_<
Okay, off to the second round of my twice a day gladiator’s match with my kitty. Wish me luck! ^_^
Glad to hear that everything went well with Mimzy. That’s great that he’s eating right after the vets. Having them “under” is so nerve wracking. How old is Mimzy anyways? I can’t remember.
I can certainly sympathize with trying to give meds to a cat. Not easy!!! I’ve had to do both pills and liquid. They can be so stubborn. I got lucky this time, Andy’s thyroid meds are transdermal. It’s like a little pen that you twist and just rub the liquid on the inside of his ear.
((((((Continued Vibes for Griffy Cat)))))))))
I’m so glad Mimzy did well! It’s so nerve wracking taking them to the vet for anything! Hugs to everyone!
Good luck with Griffy. Cats are the worst for giving medications. Mine would always pee whenever we tried giving her medications. Always good fun. NOT lol
Thanks for the update MM. So glad to hear all is well and hope it continues to be.
Yeah Mimz!!! Sorry I didn’t see this earlier to send vibes before hand!
