So I let Kate and Spence out every morning before I go to class.  This morning, they frolicked about until about 11:30, then I trapped them back in the pen, which naturally they don’t appreciate.  I went and brushed my teeth.  I came out, and bunnies were underneath my kitchen table!  So I lured them back to their pen with a papaya treat (I chop up the already small pieces into two or three pieces so I can give them treats more often without actually giving them more treats, it works well).  They’ve popped their pen open before, but I figured it was just because I didn’t get the little bars into the latches all the way.  Then I went to fix my makeup and I heard a ‘crash’.  It turns out, Spencer has officially figured out that he can just ram his little head into the pen right by the latches, and eventually the will slide up and they can escape!  So I  now have to figure out a way to hold the pen shut, right now I’m using a twist tie on it from a loaf of bread, lol.

As silly as that was, it continued!  I am a big, cheesey, sap and even though I’m not religious and don’t have children, I still make easter baskets for myself and my boyfriend.  He thinks it’s hilarious, plus he gets chocolate.  So I was putting them together today, and well, I don’t really have much in the way of furniture, so I have to do this on the floor.  First, Spencer comes over and chomps down on one of the baskets (he didn’t eat any, just shmooshed it pretty good).  Then Kate jumps in one, thankfully it wasn’t Spencer, he probably would have peed in it.  Then, Kate runs over, grabs a little gold chocolate bunny and runs away with it!  I managed to chase her down before she ate any of it.  But she was so cute, and seemed so sad that I took it from her that I really wished she could eat chocolate and tin foil.  Just another day in silly bunnyville!

That’s funny! ^_^ I am loving the mental picture of a bunny grabbing a chocolate bunny and running off with it. “Don’t worry little bun, I’ll save you!”
Good that you got that away from her though. I love chocolate, but am thinking of banning it from the house because I just have too many ground level crumb crunchers who would vacuum any stray bits off the floor. I go to the vet with my furbabies enough as it is. >_<

The only thing I would feel wary about the bread tie (I know it’s not permanent) is that Spence might just chew the paper off it and expose the wire…unless it’s one of those plastic ones? Plastic zip ties are what I us on Fiver’s night pen when I’m going to be gone for a day since his latches are none too sturdy either. He’s not an escapist, but I just would rather be safe than sorry.

LOL about peeing in the basket. I just got one of those lovely timothy mats that are new in the bb store and my lop, Mimzy went right ahead and peed all over it because he just won’t accept any flooring other than plastic or linoleum. Silly bunnyville appears to be on a road trip. ^_^
