Ok just going to put this all in one post.

        1. Chili peppers: Ok for bunny or not? The other day my neighbor dropped off a huge bag of tomaotes and peppers from her garden for us. Momo has been loving the banana peppers, and she also loves bell peppers. But there are a few chilis in there and I want to be sure those are ok before I feed them to her. If not I can always roast and dry them for storage in my spice cabinet. But if she can eat them I would rather do that. The only info I can find online is using chili powder to deter wild rabbits from your veggie garden.

        2. Hibiscus leaves. Again I can’t find any realiable info on this. I brought in my hibiscus tree for the winter, and when we got Momo as a baby in January, she kept trying to eat the leaves and managed to suck down a few, which worried the crap out of me. Go figure when her vet visit came in April the tree was back outside and I just plain forgot to ask. Last night she and I both noticed a stray leaf under the coffe table and dove for it at the same time, and she managed to run off with it before I could pull it from her mouth. So do I need to worry about her eating the stray leaf?

And the opinion. Our basement is very large and finished. It is actually where our bedroom is. I am wondering if it may be a good idea to move Momo down there. She would have more room, and it would be quieter. Also we are down there often too. The temperature usually gets around 60 in the winter and 65 ish in the summer. Right now the basement is one huge open room with a lot of stuff stored down there, small bathroom, laundry, and our “bedroom” in the back. I ultimately want to finish cleaning it, throw up a drywall to seperate off our bedroom and make an extra family room type thing with the rest. Again it would give her a lot more room, and it is not like she would be ignored down there. It is where we sleep. So just asking for opinions from experienced rabbit owners.

I wouldn’t feed the chili peppers – probably too hot for her.

I don’t find anything that says hibiscus leaves are toxic.

I think the basement once it’s cleaned and set up for her would be absolutely fine for her.

Sarita gave good answers to the first two.

As for the basement, I would wait until you get it cleaned up and set up for your bedroom before moving her in. If she’s there now it might just be a pain – lots of stuff for her to get into, and you’d have to sleep near her at night which might keep you up (the few times I’ve slept in the same room as my buns I hardly got any sleep). Once it’s all done, I think it’ll be a great place for her.
