I recently got a bunny named Kevin! He’s my 3rd rabbit I’ve raised. The first was pretty stand offish, the second was very loving and affectionate. Kevin is a little over 10 weeks old. The first week we had him he was pretty nervous but he seemed to warm up soon. He will now flop out with his feet all the way behind him and relax. My previous bunnies also did this when they were happy but they would hop up if they were being pet or if we got near them. Kevin will now all the sudden just stay laying out and let us pet him. He seems almost too relaxed? He doesn’t seem bothered by anything. Is it a bad sign?

First of all I love that his name is Kevin! Typically rabbits sprawl out when they’re relaxed, feel safe, and are happy! Every bun is different, just like all people are diff. It sounds like Kevin is pretty cam snd confident in his space, which a good thing. In my nonprofessional opinion, I wouldn’t be nervous unless he was displaying signs of illness/discomfort, like changed in eating, drinking, litter habits, or behavior. He’s also still a baby and hasn’t hit is teenage rebellion. But all in all it just sounds like you have a calm little guy who loves you!

Is his appetite and pooping ok?

I agree that every personality is different and he might just be very laid back! But important to make sure he’s not lethargic from illness.

Thank you for replying! His eating, drinking and pooping is all normal. He’ll binky and act a little crazy for a few hours out of the day but mainly just relaxes.

That’s good! He sounds like a normal bun to me 🙂

Every bunny is going to be different. A few will remain in the relaxed position if you come over and pet them… some will not. It just depends and may not even be a “feeling safe” thing. It could just as easily be a dominant thing. “Oh, you’re going to groom/pet me? OK, I’d better hurry up and get into the proper position for that.”
