This is totally understandable. This is a major surgery and recovery can be difficult at best. You probably know these things but I’m just going to throw out some thoughts?
Don’t let them tell you to withhold food and water overnight. Some receptionists don’t know better and give instructions for cats and dogs. Your bun needs food and water right up til you go in and send food, if they don’t have it, to offer when she wakes up.
Have favorite foods or treats available and ready for the return home, like basil, canned pumpkin (though good to get her used to it before you run into trouble) and other goodies. The pumpkin is great fiber, they love the taste and they can have plenty of it. Maybe have some Critical Care on hand in case you need it.
And push for pain relievers to go home with (I think)
To get her into the crate, you can cover her with a towel so she can’t see where she’s going, or put her in rump first…if the raisin trick doesn’t work. l struggle with patience for things like that. “Just get the heck in there!”
Best of luck. I’m not going to tell you not to worry. You don’t have to make yourself sick over it, but you have a right to be worried about the surgery…though don’t sweat the appointment ahead of time. Be prepared to be offered bloodwork. For a healthy young rabbit I’d be hard pressed to have it done. You can decline it. But do what makes you comfortable, though I’m always worried about how UNcomfortable the rabbit is going to be to get blood drawn, but that’s a decision YOU have to make. I don’t think there is a right or wrong answer.
Hang in there and all the best!
