Some rabbits just take longer to mature than others. One of our members on here, her buck took over six months for his family jewels to drop. It usually happens earlier but not always. If he’s been ill, it may very well be that he’s developing a little slower as a result as illness takes such a toll on the body’s systems.

Yes they can suck their balls up to hide them, but if you gently press in that area you should be able to bring them out. If you haven’t seen them, they’re probably not there yet, I wouldn’t be too worried about it

I have a 2 yo male, Podge, who never did drop. On the advice of two different vets, he has been left unaltered. He is happily bonded to a spayed female of similar age (both are rescues so exact ages unknown), but he still hadn’t dropped when about a year old, which was when we adopted him. For now, I would continue as you are doing, letting them take turns out

Wick had an upper respiratory infection from 2mo to 5mo, and his didn’t descend until 7mo o.o

Photos…copy and paste and change sizing to 400×400 or 500×400 etc…it works as long as on computer…. My vet says 6 months to neuture for my boy who is 10ish weeks now.

My buns are not spayed/neutered yet, I have taken them to vet, they were about 15 weeks and Snowball was trying to mate with Luna. But the wet said his testicals weren’t developed. So I guess some of the bunnies need more time before neutering…

My boy so both didn’t drop – vet said to me isn’t important to do abdominal neuter at 6 months if they haven’t dropped as the risk of testicular cancer is high for bucks who hasn’t dropped due to the warmth inside the body.
Both mine went in for abdominal neuter but narrowly avoided it having to be abdominal as the vet was able to get them out via the usual incision site.

You’ll be able to see them if they have. I actually started a forum post a bit ago to confirm what I saw was actually a ball, because it seemed to out of place, haha.

Quite true for you, haha. The easiest way is, if he lets you, when he’s flopped, lift his leg up and peek. Trying to actually flip him over may put him in a trance state (what happens when you put rabbits on their back), and that’s very stressful for them because it triggers a survival response (like if a predator flipped them over to eat them).

I ended up looking because I pick Wick up a lot, and that day, I picked him up and felt something fleshy on my finger, which I’d never felt before.
