I only mentioned having them in the carrier together because they have to drive anyway, which is the stressful thing. So I figure if you have to stress them anyway, may as well use it to your advantage. I don’t think that stressing should be the main way to bond, but I have found it to be really helpful to get past the plateaus that pairs…[Read more]

The relaxing near each other is very positive! I’ve always seen that happen before I see grooming. I would keep it up as you have been, but I would remove the litter boxes! I never add liter boxes until dates get really long and they are generally doing well together, because they always seem to cause disputes! I put down puppy pee pads instead…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sorry to say it, but it sound like she was very likely killed by a predator. I had this happen to me when I was younger by a group of stray dog because my parents made me keep my rabbits outside. I was devastated.

If you think there’s a chance she escaped, you could try setting a live animal trap with some food in…[Read more]

I’m guessing it was scratched during a bonding session. It doesn’t look too bad, so I would just keep an eye on it.

She does eat her cecas, not always, but I see it often. She had been keeping very clean considering the messes. Used to be much worse when she had a lot more fur down there. The vet helped trim that and it has made a huge difference, so that’s probably something we’ll need to do once in a while.

What are her grooming habits like? Is she able to keep her butt clean? Do you occasionally see her bend to get cecatrophs?

She is a senior rabbit now so another possibility (along with the others mentioned) is arthritis or another condition affecting her spine. It might be more difficult for a rabbit to empty bladder efficiently, expell sediment,…[Read more]

Hi, I just saw this inside my bun’s ear today. What could it be? Everything else is normal and I don’t see him scratching ears.

But we are doing bonding session everyday with another bun and they did have a fight a few days ago. Could it be from the fight? Or anything else? Thank you in advance!

I have a rabbit in an outdoor hutch at night. We built a stand for it so it would not be directly on the ground. The stand and the hutch were pretty high off the ground. Together it was taller than me (5’7). We have a privacy fence with a gate but we left the gate open because we had a bounce house being picked up. I woke up and noticed the u…[Read more]

I’m sorry to hear that. I know it’s distressing to see even that happens. It might good to have her in more contained space for now so she doesn’t hurt herself going into these rolls. I’m guessing it’s a bit of positional vertigo? How does she seem when her equilibrium is recovered?

Oh weird. My replies are out of sequence. I don’t think I’d used to “reply” to specific post before.

Why you wrote about Navi’s passing, that scream/squeal… some rabbits do that when they die. My rabbit Aílis did. It’s is awful to hear, i know. I think it’s known as the agonal phase and there may be some muscle spasms/seizure…[Read more]

6yrs old already AND another?! Time goes too fast!

Ah ok. I’m familiar with the lump on lower jaw. I had a bun get one out of the blue many years ago. I didn’t get procedure done to open it up and clean out more then once and then irrigate wound until it closed. I was surprised at how well the bun coped with it. He was about 1 and blind but he…[Read more]

Two kids now. 6yo daughter Ava 3yo son.

The buns and cats are just family. Part of their day-to-day lives. We did start the conversation yesterday how Daisy isn’t well and we’ve got decisions to make about her future and honestly, it seems to have just made our daughter very anxious. She adores our furry family.

There hasn’t been any treatment…[Read more]

So for the past 2 weeks I’ve been doing the dates every day, except 2 days that were missed. 2 long ones, and the rest were from 30-50 minutes.

Standoffs are becoming more frequent around the litter box. I always have 2 litters out during the dates. Harper will be in a litter box and Winter will come up to him and push her head in towards the l…[Read more]

My lionhead has a inner ear infection and it’s causing some balance issues. Every once in a while she loses her balance and starts wildly spinning/rolling around the room (she doesn’t stop even when I stop her and sit her right side up).I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or knows the best thing to do when she starts spinning.…[Read more]

P.s where exactly is the lump? Does vet think it’s in relation to upper tooth? Is lump back near ear or more forward??
