Yeah the doctor said we could do an xray but it would be 80 dollars and thats kinda expensive so she said after 10 days we will see how the bunny is doing and go from there. I asked her about uterine cancer or anything like that and she said that is not very likely but we plan to spay her soon just in case!

That must be some UTI if there were blood clots. Did they do any additional tests to make sure the blood isn’t coming from her uterus? An infection inside the uterus can cause blood clots too, which is what I mentioned earlier as a possibility.

It looks like calcium to me. Calcium in rabbit pee is normal. They readily excrete excess calcium through their urine.

Humans are not very good at assessing risk. Take fear of flying as an example. So it is understandable that you might feel like it is “risky” either way. But as Dana pointed out… the risk of cancer is a MUCH higher than the chance of a complication due to spaying. Is it possible for a rabbit to die during surgery? Yes, it is possible. But with…[Read more]

Was it a cough? Or a grunt? Rabbit grunts sound weird sometimes.

They think she has a bladder infection! So antibiotics for 10 days and we will see how she’s doing on friday or saturday! she has only passed blood clots once since the first time and i haven’t seen bloody urine either!

I can’t tell if this pee is normal or not. My bun is unspayed and has been doing her business everywhere, otherwise she is eating and behaving normally.

Oh my goodness, Cooper has been crazy about the apples lately too! We went apple picking, and when he hears me slicing one he starts going bonkers! I went to give him a tiny slice and he just crashed into my hand LOL

Ah! Well I think the first step (which you should do anyway) is to find a vet and get a check-up for them once you determine the vet is rabbit-savvy. It’s good to get in the “system” with a vet before a bun get’s sick, because sometimes vets won’t see new patients without having a long first visit. I also think talking to a vet you trust will help…[Read more]

My bun wants to massacre my mum’s sofa.
But her major “forbidden” fruit is apples. She gets a small piece every day, but she wants all the apples in the whole world. If a human tries to eat an apple in her presence, there will be a wabbit in that human’s knee within seconds.
Here my mother tried to eat an apple and watch TV:

I could only find that Black Eyed Susan’s are mildly toxic in some instances, which sounds a bit odd. So I’d not feed it to my bun, but it doesnt seem really bad.

It’s not really possible to say. The best you can do is to observe her closely for the next few days. If she coughs again or you see thick-ish snot or she starts sneezing a lot, she could have a rabbit cold, which is caused by bacteria.

Also their size could be a risk, I guess. Carrotina is 2 1/2 lbs. and Parsley is 3 3/4 lbs.

This means I need to tell you something worse. My rabbits have never been to the vet. It’s awful. I know. I know which vet I would use, but I have yet to ever take them as they have never had anything beyond a little sore. I think that at this vet, spay is 106 dollars and checkup is 52 dollars. How do you tell if a vet is rabbit-savvy anyway?
