Thank you for replying so fast.. he was at the vet 5 days before this behavior started. They said his ear infection was cleared up. I continued his medication to finish it up. He stress scratches both ears and he seems to eat everything he used to. He still lets me pet him while he lays under the table …
is it possible that he has ps…[Read more]

Thanks for filling out the template. I’m wondering if you can re-arrange so they live in more proximity to each other, while still being separated. Re: pen/gate rattling, that is very common because the rabbit can see the other side/perceives it should be simple to get to the other side by rattling. This can usually be deterred by covering the…[Read more]

I thought I would do a bunny poll just for fun. 🙂
1. Would you rather have to:
(a) Clean out a rabbit pen that hasn’t been cleaned in a week and is a terrible mess.
(b) Clean two rabbit’s worth of scent glands.
(c) Brush and do nail clipping for 2 rabbits.
I think I would rather clean the pen…
2. Pick a rabbit breed from this list:
(a)…[Read more]

The poop is small and dark because he doesnt eat hay. Hay makes poop big and lighter in color.
You could perhaps try getting him some new type of hay, like orchard. And let him have a little less other food for supper so he is hungry enough to eat his hay during the night? If rabbits get to choose, about 98% of them wont choose hay over pellets…[Read more]

The first thing to suspect is oain of some sort. On the picture his head is a little tilted. Is it normally like that, or is it just on this picture?
Ear infections can be stubborn and they can reoccur. There is a connection between the middle ear and pharynx via the ear trumpet where bacteria can travel. A middle ear infection is very painful.…[Read more]

I have a 3.5 year old Holland lop. He’s my only bunny and we’ve been inseparable since I got him. He has free roam of the house and is neutered. He’s always been antisocial around people – but never me. But for the last 3 weeks he is a different bunny. One day he started hiding under a table , and that’s where he most always is. He comes out…[Read more]

my bunny Fluffy 1year old when we got him from RSPCA 1 month ago , he was popping well and eating hay a lot.
Recently I found he only likes eating grass, veggies from our garden. He always follows me or waiting beside the glass door which leads to the garden. He has good appetite for fresh greens but not hay. Still eat hay though but not…[Read more]

That might be my issue too.. I’m pushing them too much to get along because I feel like I have a “deadline” to do so — I was hoping I’d be able to change rooms in December, meaning more time to take it slow but no, seems like the end of the month is when we’ll be making the change — or because of my interventions, they can’t exchange what…[Read more]

The problem with the harlequin pattern is that it has been introduced into many breeds. I have see harlequin patterned Nethies and Holland lops. I’ve also see Rex bunnies with the harlequin pattern. Unfortunately, that means the presence of the pattern may not necessarily indicate breed.
The Harlequin breed tends to be around 8-1olbs. It doesn’t…[Read more]

Hi guys,
I’ve got two little babes that were listed as “American mix” by the shelter. I’m fairly positive they are both Harlequins, at least Harley mixes. Scout, the girl with the much darker markings, is just over 7 months old and weighed around 5.6 lbs when she was spayed on 10/8/21. She strikes me as partly giant or maybe Palomino due to the…[Read more]

Thanks for the reply!
Based on your experience, what signs mean it’s okay to finally leave them? They’re eating together, grooming one another and have shown no further signs of annoyance at all today that I can tell. And they’ve been cuddling for nearly half of the day. Basically, no nipping or chasing or anything, and they’re both using the…[Read more]

I am very discouraged as they are doing so well side by side. Today they pretty much went for each other immediately. I don’t know if it’s still hopeful.
