It was her whole face, she loves being petted anywhere on her face, but the rest of her body, she will kill you if you touch it… unless you are a little kid because I trained her very well with them. She only 2 turned to late July, early august, would it be the reason for her energy level? The only floor change was a few months ago and it…[Read more]

As all the others have already said, hot ears dont mean much, if anything. Very cold ears in a lethargic bun that refuses to eat can be an indication of hypothermia though. It’s good to acquaint yourself with how your bun’s ears feel so you get a sense of what is normal for her and how the ear temp various over they day and with her activity…[Read more]

Maybe you could put it on a table? I know that some people with guinea pigs put their c&c cages on a table. You might need two tables though. If you find a adjustable table you could adjusted when your dog is in their so it is higher and when your dog isn’t then you could put it more at your level.

Has to be outside do to my dogs, the hutch will be under an 6-8 foot siding where I BBQ. I will be converting that area and the runway area of my backyard to a “rabbit zone” lol. He comes in at nights in his cage for now until I get the hutch built.
Not many if any mosquitos or nats right now do to weather cooling down, gets into the 40’s, but I…[Read more]

Hi, other bunnies
I would need an advice. My bunny is gaining weight but I haven’t changed anything in the diet. She still eats the same amount of pellets as she ate like two months ago. She was fine until now. I weighted her twice in a week and she is just gaining weight i don’t understand. We cut on treats, she started to have one cecotrope in…[Read more]

Was it her ears that were hot? Some rabbits will have warmer ears at times they are more relaxed. See here for information re: warm weather/heat stroke concerns so you are alert to signs and what to do: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Hot_weather_concerns
Young rabbits tend to be more energetic– all that baby energy. Has there been a change in…[Read more]

Wow! That’s giant! Although I would be careful outside. I know he used to be outside but if he doesn’t already have RHV2 then he could still get it. I don’t know how bad it is spreading where you are but I personally don’t let my bunnies outside even though the nearest case is 5 and a half hours away and isn’t even in the same state. Better safe…[Read more]

No, I always watch them because they cause too much trouble. She rarely ever runs around maybe 2 for a few seconds every month, she used to go on and on running around every day. Her spay was around 4 months ago I would guess, sorry I can’t remember exactly when.

Thanks for the response, I hope he is happier then being outside. Hopefully he fully warms up to me in about a month. The hutch I got him isn’t huge but it also isn’t small by any means. It is 78.7 long x 20.5 wide x 33.5 tall in inches. Ive seen the crazy condo things, expensive but cool. Would have built my own if I had the time haha. This is…[Read more]

Ah, ok! That could be a big part of the problem actually. I was trying to bond in my studio apartment and mine hit a similar barrier, where they just weren’t quite getting there, even after several days of marathoning.
You might try to take them somewhere else for a weekend (like a friend’s house). I think since you’ve had them together for 2…[Read more]

No, not really, I live in a tiny one-bedroom apt, and before they pretty much explored the whole house together. I have a rug underneath them. I’m not really doing sessions, they’re together most of the time except the two days I am at school and no one is home, which is like only 2 hours out of the entire day, so day and night they’re together.…[Read more]

Ok that’s helpful. And to answer your initial question, no they are definitely not bonded yet.
Litter boxes can cause disputes during bonding sessions if added too soon. What happens if you remove the litter box?
I’ve also noticed that when bonding goes on a long time in one location, the space becomes less neutral and they can get stuck in a…[Read more]

It seems that ginger will sometimes nip seal in the back to move and when he does move, he does it quickly and I guess that triggers ginger when he starts running fast. Before during their first time being bonded, this chasing only occurred whenever I let them out of their pen to run around more, in this case, seal would get the “zoomies” and…[Read more]

Gotcha, that’s helpful info!
Can you describe the chasing a bit more? Does it seem triggered by anything in particular? Are Ginger’s ears up or down? Tail up or down? From what you said so far, it sounds like nervousness. Like maybe Ginger gets nervous when Seal moves too quickly so she chases? If that’s the case, then I do think more time in…[Read more]

Ginger&Seal replied to the topic Are my bunnies fully bonded? in the forum BONDING 4 years, 10 months ago
This is actually the second time I am bonding them as the first bond between them was broken when Seal became very ill from an infection in his lungs and he had a catheter tube where he received his fluids and Ginger was biting it and he was without medication for a good hour. The vet instructed me to just bring Seal back the next day and then it…[Read more]
