Thanks for starting us off this month @ParsleyBun ! The chilly weather is definitely sticking around now in my area (northeast USA). My partner and I recently carved pumpkins for Halloween and they are beautifully displayed on our balcony– I hope they stick around for a while, haha.

I look forward to drinking hot apple cider, hot chocolate, and…[Read more]

As a general note, males are still able to impregnate a female 6 weeks after a neuter, and females can be impregnated as soon as 12 weeks old. Separation is recommend to prevent pregnancy: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Pregnant_rabbits

Ultimately, the stance the majority of Binkybunny-goers will have, myself included, is that any bond which…[Read more]

Hi all, I have two young holland lop bunnies (3 months buck and 2 months doe) and couldn’t find many bonding tips online for unaltered young rabbits, so I wanted to write my experience here to share since I gained so much from others in this forum.

I consulted my first breeder before getting a companion for him and she adviced it is best to bond…[Read more]

    Hope this comes through ok.

Walter and Boo in the cage part of their enclosure.

It is always open to a pen.

They didn’t eat their greens today…and keep in digging in the litter box, but otherwise, all seems good.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>My thought goes with you. I’m a new bunny owner with two 3months olds, but I had dogs before, so I can imagine what hard times you’re going through. May Oreo rest in peace and all her memories be cherished by her family.</p>

Hello, thank you for the reply.

We don’t know her past other than she was pretty affectionate for the first week then it went downhill. Triggers are simple… Try to put your hands near her with or without food/treats, and inside or outside her cage and she either paws, growls, or bites. Depending on her mode, sometimes she just runs away. If you…[Read more]

Do you know what her circumstances were before she came to live with you? Sometimes trauma is the past, affects their behavior in the future. Have you tried narrowing down what her triggers are? There is usually some sort of pattern.

Hello all. We rescued our latest bunny, a Dutch, around January of this year and have been trying to work with her for 10 months now. We originally got her for bonding with our Netherland dwarf, who we rescued from an animal shelter and is as sweet as can be.

We have had rabbits for over 30 years as pets. We slowly introduce them to each other as…[Read more]

Congratulations on having a bun that’s so awesomely advanced in years!

I had an old-ish dog who got laser treatment for her very bad back. That, combined with daily NSAID (non-steroidal anti inflsmmatory drug, for rabbits f ex meloxicam), it gave her 2.5 more good and active years.

Exercise is good, so its not adviced to give the pet a “too…[Read more]

My little girl is 13 years old and her back legs are starting to completely give out.

We are Starting her on laser treatment next week. I am hoping for tips and advice on how to make her more comfortable with better flooring ideas, litter box options, how to calm her down for a bath, and any other mature bunny living situations that others are…[Read more]

Hey thanks for getting back to me and thank you for your kind message of support… It really does hurt even more when you’ve fought to keep them here.

Re the blood glucose, the first time he had stasis and required surgery he started with a blood glucose of around 15-16 and it rose to 26-28 by day 5 of trying IV medication, and it was one of the…[Read more]

Hey thanks for getting back to me!

I should’ve been more specific with the blood glucose. When he first had stasis and the vet chose to do an exp lap he started with a blood glucose of around 15-16 but by day 5 of trying IV meds and supportive care it had risen to 26-28 which was when a decision was made to operate.

He was still producing very s…[Read more]
