A great tip that one of our great members gave us years ago and which I’ve been using ever since, is to shake ut as much hay as you can (obviously!) and then tumble-dry the dry blankets for about 5-10 minutes. (Don’t leave the dryer unattended though, since there might be a slight fire hazard when you tumble dry sth that is already completely dry.…[Read more]

I had a male bun who suddenly started doing this exact same thing, although on the couch, when I was on it. Both boy and girl rabbits have some hormonal production in their adrenal glands even when they are neutered, and this “function” can be triggered by factors in the environment. It usually occurs in early spring and it’s then triggered by the…[Read more]

Thank you! One week after op and as soon as I let him out in the morning every day he sprays wee all over the house and my ankles with no signs of stopping, but only one week so I will keep my fingers crossed and pray! 🤞

BunnyLass’ friend: We’ll definiely not be telling you to give your buns up.
I just spent the whole of yesterday listening to a vet webbinar about surgery in rabbits, particularly healthy spay/neuters. I have a young doe who is getting spayed tomorrow, and I do admit that I’m a bit scared – I’ve only ever had to neuter boy rabbits.
Castration is…[Read more]

Oh yes Bam, you’re so right about the re-proofing! I’ve learned this about bunny-proofing: bunny-proof a room and let a bunny prove you wrong…
It’s sad that it didn’t work out with her intended husbun, but I’m happy that she found a good home with you. I really hope that Molly and Owen will bond…
These young binksters don’t have any fear, it…[Read more]

Ellie, I’m so happy for you! Wonderful news! I think Breintje heartily approves beyond the Bridge, these two are as close to his offspring as it gets! He’d be the first one to tell you that a home is not a home without a bun.
They’re so adorable and so tiny! It is of course very wise to separate them before Molly loses her patience with O…[Read more]

I’m making this post for a friend, these are her words.
“I’ve had rabbits for 3 years now and they’re not spayed or neutered. I’m trying to decide what to do. Everytime I get money to spay my doe something happens like the buck getting sick so I have to take money out of that to treat him. Or I need the money for an emergency thus the same thing…[Read more]

I have a pair of bonded mini lop bunnies they get along so well since the beginning. Both are male and spayed. One is 1 year 5 months old , another one is 5 months old.
They were bonded since the beginning , groomed for each other, sleep next to each other. Just recently they fought for 2 times. Â the 5 months old Snowball started the fight. Do…[Read more]

Hi,
I’m a new bun mum and would love your insight on this!
Background: I adopted a minilop boy, now 4 months old. I’ve had him for 2 months now. He’s not desexed yet.
Problem: When I take him out for a walk in a quiet park (on a leash), he runs around and hops around, and then when it’s time to go home (after 20-40 mins or so), he will not let…[Read more]

Yes, a brush works well. Or you can pin it on a clothesline and use a squeegee in the direction of the fabric.
We often do that for regular carpets as well, before vacuum cleaning. If we didn’t, we’d go through 3 vacuum cleaner bags in a week, this place looks like a barn xD
I don’t know the English word, but for the carpets we use the big…[Read more]

They are big pee puddles and she usually does it when I’m sleeping. She’ll jump on the bed and do it next to me usually with an alert stance. Only yesterday did she actually do it in the daytime when I wasn’t there. The weird thing is, she just started doing this out of nowhere.

There are many reasons why bunnies pee on your bed. That’s why I wonder when it happens: does it happen when you’re in the room and making eye contact? And is she cranky in general? Then she’s probably angry at you, and trying to show you who’s the boss.
Does it happen when you’re not there and has she become more anxious or clingy? Then she’s…[Read more]

So it turns out my 1 yr old bunny “could lose a bit of weight” according to the vet. He is a holland lop, neutered, at 2.185 kg and she wants him to be 2.1kg, even 2.0kg of possible. He is not fat per se, but I do agree that he is slightly bigger. What I do not understand is that his diet is very healthy, I have no idea how he managed to be…[Read more]

BakingBunny started the topic Digging Box in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 9 months ago
Hello, I just made a digging box for my bunny, she is a spayed female. I made it out of shredded paper, but I think I need to switch over to soil. She is mistaking it for a litterbox and peeing in it. I think soil could fix that problem. What type/brand of soil is safe for her?

Hi, there is no reason to be sorry for posting a lot. Now, when I had fleece in my bunnies cage I found the best way was to fist shake it off outside because it makes a mess, then to put it in the wash, you do have to get a few hay pieces out of the washer though.

Hello, I’ve had my girl for about4 months now. She is spayed and is usually pretty good with her litterbox habits. All of a sudden she is starting to get into the habit of peeing on my bed. Any ideas why?
