I’m very sorry about your bun.
A former member here had a bun, Kuro, who had weird blood vessels. He had several health issues, and the vets didnt recommend neutering him. When he had acute abdominal surgery for a blockage, the vein in the ear where the IV canula was put (they often put a canula there in case the bun needs rapid resuscitation…[Read more]

A few days ago my beloved bunny, Brenda died during her spay. She was almost exactly one year old and appeared perfectly healthy and super active. The vet did a bunch of blood tests before the spay and they came back normal except for a ‘mild increase in LE’s’, which the vet said was common and not an issue. Right after the surgery, the vet called…[Read more]

I was wondering if anyone has experienced sth similar. My baby suddenly didn’t want her usual veggies last night at around 10.30 PM. She just sat there in the corner by her litter box where she never usually sits, and just stares into space. I tried everything—food, treats, fruits, oats, nothing compelled her. She didn’t even want to run aroun…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Size Chart? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years ago
This is not something done very exactly as most pet rabbits are mixed breeds, so growth trajectory will not really be predictable nor standard considering any two NDs or Holland Lops or Flemish Giants will, in the background, have other genetics at play. Even show standards for breed weights are arbitrarily set.

I know rabbits grow at different rates but I was wondering if anyone had actually every tracked them?
IE if you have weights for your bun from X age to X age and to see if there is an average amongst breeds?
I have just adopted 2 mini lops and since they are 2 or 3 years old I won’t be able to do this experiment myself – so just wondering if…[Read more]

The move might actually be really helpful because you will have all new territory at your new place. If they don’t fight in the car you could even have them ride to the new place together.
Another thing to try is a larger space. I’ve always had terrible luck with small spaces, with things tending to escalate to fights much more quickly. So I…[Read more]

We brought Circe home on April 27, so it hasn’t been terribly long. We’re in the process of moving, so I’d love to do as much bonding as we can before then but understand I might not get far before.

I think focusing on the two girls is a good plan. I have a failed trio that was the same combo… girls can be really tough. My two girls just were not make any progress after working with them for months, even though they easily bonded with males.
How long have you been working with them?

Hi there!
We’re bonding a ~1 year old female named Circe to our existing M/F pair (Zeus and Persephone, both around 4 and bonded for 1.5 years).
Bonding Zeus and Persephone was a breeze, and we’ve been trying the same techniques we used the first time with the trio (stress bonding with a car ride, petting everyone in the bathtub/small box, inc…[Read more]

Well… calm is a relative term here. LOL I do agree that neutering him is probably the best bet, but I understand that his actual owners are not on board with that.
I must have skipped over the “not eating” part. Is he actually not eating? Or is he just eating less? I mean, hotter temperatures and molting can certainly make a bunny feel bleh…[Read more]

Many online sources says Broccoli may cause gas – and even kill bunnies. They also warn against iceberg lettuce, labeling it ‘poison’ –
I have a kind of unique experience as my bunnie friend (if she thinks of me so), was free – and part of a marvelous bonded pair – who lived happily – until a feral cat attacked the male. – I have her enclosed…[Read more]
