We had a member who successfully transported her bun from Kuwait to Canada some years back. She chose Lufthansa, but she had a choice. The bun had to fly cargo, the owner wasn’t on the same plane, her parents collected the bun. He was then in home-quarantine for some weeks because that’s required in Canada.
I know about the viruses they release…[Read more]

I already went to reddit to try and get advice/reassurance but I just got told that I was a selfish bunny owner and that I clearly don’t care about my rabbit.
June is a part of my small family and has gotten me through some of the toughest points of my life. She’s my baby and I couldn’t bare to lose her. My home life is really bad right now and…[Read more]

I already went to reddit to try and get advice/reassurance but I was told I am a terrible bunny mum and that I’m going to kill her if I go through with this.
Rehoming is not an option. She is my family, my baby and I could not bear to lose her (nor could my partner). My home life is not good right now, my biological family has turned on m…[Read more]

LokiLover started the topic Small Flesh-Colored Bump on Side of Nose in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years ago
Hello everyone,
I just noticed this small, flesh-colored bump or wart on the side of my rabbit’s nose (it is only on one side) — see photos. Does anyone have any idea what this might be? I’ve heard that the papillomavirus can cause wart-like growths in rabbits; however I don’t know what that would look like in its early stages.
I took my rabbit…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Heading to vet – Luna ate plastic syringe top and rubber stopper. in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 2 years ago
Rabbits dont swallow bigger chunks of things, the entrance to their stomach is very narrow and controlled by strong muscle. This is why they cant vomit, and probably why they chew what they eat very thoroughly.
Rabbits can ingest non-food materials like fabric, plastic, cardboard and leather, and that as a rule doesnt harm them if the amounts are…[Read more]

My bunny Luna was sick last night and was fed gas drops and critical care each hour for three hours.
On her last dose, she snapped off the tip, and part of the tube, of the 1ml syringe. I tried to remove any parts from her mouth, but I believe it went down.
This morning she is acting normal, eating hay, and pooping.
On the way to the vet. I am…[Read more]

Cleaning the environment is an important component of ear mites treatment: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Mites#Ear_mites
I agree that reaching out to either the same vet or finding a different one for at least some informed guidance is necessary to ensure proper and safe tx. Here is a website w/ some various links that may help with finding an…[Read more]

Hmm… that isn’t very helpful because it doesn’t say how much ivermectin is actually in it. Assuming it is meant for horses, the concentration is probably high. You do not want to risk overdose. Would your vet be able to help you out with figuring out the correct dosage? Maybe they are familiar with the concentration of that particular formula.…[Read more]

Thank you for your reply.
As far as black specs inside the ears, they don’t seem to have them yet. Maybe they do but might be deeper inside the ear. No crusting happening yet. I do notice A LOT of dandruff And constantly scratching.
The bottle of ivermectin is 120ml for horses. That’s all it says on the box.
There is just so much dust and hair…[Read more]
