Lanabun started the topic White snot in bunny’s nose in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 3 months ago
I was filming my bunny eating her veggies and noticed some white snot come out of her nose which she quickly wiped off. This is the first time I’m seeing something like this. She seems to be fine otherwise but I have noticed some teeth grinding since the last few days. Is this the start of snuffles?? What should I do?

I have got 3 pens, well, 3 of everything :). One for each bun and then a third one that’s for the bonding sessions. Less moving things around, especially if it’s going to be a long process.

Hey all!
Recently I’ve gotten into emergency preparedness. I’m mostly concerned about recent events in the US as well as wildfires.
My first questions are: what should I have in an extensive bunny first aid kit? Are there resources for how to learn basic stuff like wound care or CPR for bunnies? I’m basically trying to prepare for “how to handle…[Read more]

Update to any who are interested:
I use this forum for help as I love the moderators and general suggestions we get, but always forget to update.
Maxwell is still with us! I made a separate post about bonding.
We decided to wait on giving Revolution mostly because we had issues in accessing it near us. His thin fur is definitely just his…[Read more]

Grade 1 sore hocks
There are creams you can get from vet and also over the counter ones that supposedly helps; never seemed to help my buns but my buns feet never got worse.

Do those spots seem to cause him pain? From the photo, it looks a little pink, but not red or open/sore.
The reason I ask is, I had a mini rex who had a small spot like that on the back of one of her back feet, but never caused her pain and never seemed to cause any issues. It was almost like a calous. She also had lots of soft spots to sit on,…[Read more]

Oh that may be what it is. I can’t really tell either, for some reason I couldn’t get a clear photo of it. But my older rabbit had these before and they turned into really bad sores. I’m not sure how he could have possibly gotten them though. So callus makes a bit more sense haha

It’s hard to tell from the picture. Is there an actual sore? This almost looks like a callus.

my bunny is 11 months old and has sore hocks already. He has a memory foam mat with a soft blanket on top for flooring. He already has sore hocks and I’m not sure what to do about it. I’ve tried numerous different floorings with my previous rabbit and I thought I finally found the right one, but I guess it’s not padded enough? I know that mini…[Read more]

If the cord is close enough to the barrier, they always seem to find a way to get it through the bars.

Yes, I tried switching their litterboxes but that’s about it.

Thank you for the reassurance about if I need to rehome him, I would feel very guilty.
We decided to go forward with attempting to bond (the right way this time!).

I think we will get a second pen for this reason exactly! We had baby gates but Gus chewed through them and without a second pen it’s impossible to separate them at the moment.

Ok, I have shower curtains for them already.
Almost all the girls I’ve had are destructo-maniacs. I keep saying, no more girls… Omg, as I was typing this, she killed my laptop charger. It was “blocked off” but stuck her nose/mouth in and in a 2secs, dead.

I was thinking that, too. Maybe you could cover it with something old or a shower curtain/vinyl tablecloth when you aren’t able to supervise.
She sounds like our girl, Georgia. I’m pretty sure nothing makes her happier than destruction lol! If I scold her for chewing something she shouldn’t, she skips and binkies away, like its a game. We always…[Read more]

There’s the old shower curtain trick. It’s used for bunnies that like the pee on the bed, but I think it would work for digging too. Or at least it would slow her down enough that you would have time to intervene.

My little girl loves digging and nibbling; she even nibbles her friends… Over time, she has stopped doing this to the flooring in her housing area since I lay small pieces of cardboard around and at one point, some old clothing. This is actually not a good thing because she actually eats everything she nibbles on leaving no crumbs (already…[Read more]

It can be challenging to find neutral space with a free roam bun, so sometimes you have to think outside the box. I’ve had good luck in the past with using the bathtub (although a shower stall would work, too, if you can block off the front). Its just awkward and stressful enough that it encourages the buns to seek comfort from one another. And it…[Read more]
