I would feel very relieved! Pooping and eating is amazing!
I think continuing with critical care until she’s 100% is a good plan!

Thank you everyone for you support and advice. She just came home with me. The vet said her stomach feels a lot smaller. She is suuuper tired so I can’t tell how much better she is in terms of eating. The vet said she was eating the romaine they gave her and she needs to be given critical care. Her stomach feels smaller but hard to me (which is w…[Read more]

oh I forgot to tell” letting them go “means that they are able to hop around the place when both of them are in the same place during the session,,but whenever I did that,it would always result in them fighting,,so for now I only pet them and let them eat meals together,,but the weird part to me is that after they ate, they would flop around each…[Read more]

Thanks Bam, I am not sure whether my bunny has mucus in stool. If I squeeze it I feel its water. How do you differentiate mucus vs water.

Seeing any type of grooming in the sessions is great! But yes, fur flying is fighting. I think it’s OK to be petting them and intervening a lot in the early sessions. Eventually you’ll need to ease off the petting though.
I think starting with petting, and the gradually reducing the amount of petting is a good strategy. Like, you could pet them…[Read more]

Grooming each other is positive, fighting each other (fur flying) is negative — that being said, mixed signals during the bonding process is common.
I’m unsure what you mean by “let my bunnies go”, but to be clear, whenever you are doing a bonding session, you must be present physically and mentally 100% of the time to intervene when necessary.…[Read more]

I’m so sorry. In all honesty, you sound like you did the best job possible taking care of him, especially when he was in such bad shape. You didn’t do anything wrong, and no bunny could have ever been happier. ❤

I bawled like a baby reading your tribue to Olive Blu. So beautiful! You and Olive Blu had a blessed life together for almost 12 years — making it even that much harder to part. Congratulations on the super job of care you provided to him over a year ago, sustaining his life and love for more than a year. What a success story! You did every…[Read more]

I think it’s soooo funny when my bunnies groom themselves FURIOUSLY after I give them a deep grooming and nail trim. You can just tell they are like “UGH you messed up all my fur!!”

I suspect the molt plus maybe a slightly weakened system after recovering from her respiratory infection could have triggered it. Molting can be hard on bunnies, even when it doesn’t seem like they are ingesting a lot of fur. It’s really common for buns to have GI trouble around molting time.
I agree that fiber is the name of the game, and making…[Read more]

Since I’m going through a tough bond too I know how good it must feel to get past a hurdle! My girl is also really nippy with the male. Same kind of things, when he digs a blanket, runs too fast past her, etc. With her though, I bonded her to my bridge bun last year and she didn’t nip AT ALL! She was totally different with him and they bonded in a…[Read more]

I’m sure they have good bun-reasons =D
I had a bun that I caught in a community garden, because he was clearly a stray domestic bun and not a wildling. The first few weeks he felt the urge to clean himself for like 20 minutes every time I’d touched him. Horrible hooman-scent on his precious fur!
It did subside though and he eventually became…[Read more]

First of all, congrats on having taken so great care of Lola that she has reached this awesome age!
Regarding the pee, you need to check so she doesn’t have a urinary tract infection. (You might have done that already). Older animals incl humans are prone to UTIs in old age.
Regardless of whether this is about a UTI or just “normal” old…[Read more]
