Holy Moly, what a horrible situation! I’m so happy to hear that you were able to buy a house and get out of that hellhole. It’s beyond cruel to tell people to get rid of their pets. Agree with Susanne. Most rabbits do not like being picked up as they are “prey animals”. So their instincts tell them they are about to get eaten when they are picked up. None of my 3 rabbits liked being picked up at all, and that is pretty normal for them. It sounds like you’re doing the right things! I really hope you’ll be able to bond them! If not, and you are able to keep them separately, lots of bunnies will live happily as neighbors, and still get the social benefits of having another rabbit nearby. If you end up deciding they aren’t bondable, you don’t need to keep them out of sight of each other and can just keep them side by side.

Haha okay. That makes sense about binkies. They really do seem to taunt one another at times, and I know Fred loved to flop near and against George (which was cute, but I knew from research could be an insult).

Yep, it’s definitely fine to take breaks as needed, and it’s encouraged to keep going as they have these tiffs. Sometimes it can help to give them some extra toys or a bit more space as the sessions get longer.

With a heavy heart my bunny is no more, he died this early morning. My gut feeling he had choking. I am at loss now 🙁
