Thanks for responding!!
It is clear discharge, not goopy at all. It actually hasn’t been wet for about 24 hrs now. I boiled water and put it on a cloth and wiped his eye down, is it possible that it dislodged something in his tear duct I wonder? (I don’t know how deep/intricate their eye system is).
Other then that, he binkys, eats normally, f…[Read more]

You should phase out the poultry pellets (dont stop from one day to another, they must be phased out slowly) so that he starts to eat more and more hay. If you can get rabbit pellets you can slowly wean him on to rabbit pellets. The poultry pellets could be the root cause of his problems.
Benebac is widely used with rabbits and many of our…[Read more]

If he is eating poultry pellets and not hay, that is not healthy for his gut flora. Rabbits need a lot of fiber in their diet for their poop to move through properly. Poultry feed is mostly starch, so could contribute to an overgrowth of bacteria, gas build up, and imbalance, along with poop getting backed up in his system. I highly doubt that…[Read more]

Hi guys, my rabbits have mites and I need help on how to properly administer Ivermectin on them. I found this drug dosage calculator for rabbits, it says to administer orally, do I just use the mean recommended dose and mix that amount in their food? One of my rabbits is pregnant and I think it has mites too because both are living together on the…[Read more]

Rabbits shouldn’t be itching themselves so often — how does his fur/skin look? I agree that treating for mites may be a good measure– not all mites are perceivable to the eye.
You could isolate him to a different area done-up in cardboard and generally nothing but the bare-minimum and see if there’s any relief to rule out allergens.
There’s…[Read more]

Its difficult to say if you’re being “paranoid”, because young rabbits do scratch themselves often, but they’re not supposed to scratch themselves incessantly. Maybe you could film him?
I looked up Bob Martins my little friend spot on, and I got som hits saying it contains fipronil as its active ingredient. Fipronil can be lethal to rabbits so…[Read more]

Welcome to the forum! Do share pics once you get them ^_^
It’s so good to see people do their research! Broadly speaking: most “common knowledge” about rabbits is wrong. I sometimes invite people who want to get rabbits, and they’re always surprised that rabbits shouldn’t be eating whole carrots. They’re also surprised that rabbits are NOT low…[Read more]

I did enema him again which help only 40ml I did lessen giving him enema he burst out a lot of soft poop which I don’t think healthy since it has mucous. Mucous means there’s a bacterial…[Read more]

I will call and ask them. I have Bob Martin my little friend spot on, but the pack says to use on small animals over 12 weeks and my boy is only 9 weeks. I’ve tried everything even switching hay switching litter washing his mats etc… Am I just paranoid?

Bam replied to the topic Constantly itching!!! in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 8 months ago
If he is itching himself fantically all the time it could be an allergy of some sort. A vet can prescribe children’s benadryl (diphenhydramine). Since you’ve been to the vet with him you could perhaps just call them and ask?
Sometimes its difficult for a vet to see mites (bigger parasites are obv easier to spot), so they sometimes treat with…[Read more]

I’m a first time rabbit owner!!! Am I just over worrying?.
My 9 week old male bunny itches himself all day. The vet confirmed he doesn’t have any parasites at all but he continues to itch. What could it be? What can I do to soothe his itching? He also spent the whole day sleeping and itching today. Is he OK?
He is a mix of mini lop and haliquin,…[Read more]

Is the discharge clear and runny? Or white and goopy? This isn’t true in 100% of cases, but typically a clear and runny discharge suggests it isn’t a bacterial infection. The discharge can be caused by a lot of things including irritation (hay dust in the eye), an injury, a clogged tear duct, and tooth root problems (roots growing into the eye…[Read more]

Hot damn, what a handsome little devil! Oh my, he’s already dressed for the opera and just needs a lady on his side. Does he enjoy Wagner by any chance? 😳 😉
He’s definitely a dwarf mix: we’ve had a false dwarf pureblood Nethie and we have 2 Nethie mixes now, and he looks like a mix. His ears aren’t the signature triangular shape, and the…[Read more]

@DanaNM: Nice! Bunston was so photogenic, he looks so stylish in that pic! Cooper sounds like a real showstealer ^_^ It’s indeed weird if you lived with a very strong-minded rabbit, sometimes I still think: “Should do this quickly now, Breintje doesn’t like the sound… Oh…”. He really was the owner in this household and no mistake. It’s why the…[Read more]
