Yes, probably! I just hope once we come back upstairs she will act so happy! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Ruby run around like that.

The reason I chose orange juice is because she is a VERY picky bunny. Her list of hates are far longer than her list of likes. She doesn’t like apples, so I’m not sure how effective apple juice would be in regards to enticing her to drink. She loves oranges, bananas, and is okay with blueberries. Every other fruit I’ve tried to give her she rejec…[Read more]

If you are seeing your rabbit cough, that is a valid reason to go to the veterinarian for assessment as soon as possible — coughing is not normal in rabbits at all and suggests something serious is going on in the lungs that requires medical attention/treatment.

If there was improvement on the antibiotic, I recommend discussing it further with a…[Read more]

I’m glad they calmed back down! It does sound like a case of moving to less-neutral too quickly. It’s really amazing how much of a difference location can make.

Hopefully the next long session goes well!

It can be hard to tell, so I like to have a hay rack (hung over the box) in addition to the hay that’s in the box so I know for sure they always have some fresh.

I’ve had I think about a 50/50 split of males and females, and my girls have been wonderful. My bridge bunny Bertha was the friendliest sweetest rabbit I have ever met.

Spaying is important but other than that the care is the same. I think if she likes the bun, she should go for it, regardless of the bun’s sex.

That sounds fine and yes, plenty of hay and hidey-holes. There’s a chance the rabbits will not be phased at all or if they are, that they’ll habituate to it quickly once they realize it’s just noise and nothing is harming them.

Some additional recommendations you can consider are here: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Fireworks

oh, well imagine a very faint kinda “cough” sound. She got a tiny bit better. Like very faintly for a short time. Because she got bad GI a day after her antibiotics ended. Her nose whistles when she’s excited more than when she’s relaxed.

I think apple juice would be a safer choice for mixing with water. Citrus can be a bit weird on the gut flora sometimes.

Personally, in my N=2 where one is a male and one is a female, my female rabbit who I adopted at 1yo (vs. my male rabbit who I got at 8wo) has 1) superbly better litterbox habits (than any other rabbit I’ve interacted with, as a volunteer at two rabbit rescues, haha) and 2) goes out of her regularly to request pets from me while she lounges by my…[Read more]

    Evening.
so we’re coming up to that time of year. For my bunnies it will be the first time they have heard fireworks.
I have two adults and two roughly 4 weeks old kits. I have a walk-in avery with a hutch on a run inside. So really looking for any best practices.
At the moment my plan is

    – keep the hutch open so they can move about if they w…[Read more]

oh thank you! I honestly do recommend spaying/neutering buns,,it’s just that I heard from some articles that male bunnies are more friendly compared to female bunnies,,so basically there are lots of people who overthinks on whether to get female bunnies and male bunnies,,but honestly even me myself am thinking on adopting female bunnies but I’m…[Read more]

Oranges are a rabbit-safe fruit (https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Treats#Fruits). That being said, you do not want to “over do it” with sugar when a rabbit is in GI distress, as excessive sugar (as opposed to getting the rabbit to eat critical care or hay) can irritate the intestinal lining further (similar to what we expect when a rabbit eats too many…[Read more]

Unfortunately I do not hear anything on the recording — that being said, nose whistling/general respiratory “struggles” are common indicators of an upper respiratory infection, and it is common for veterinarians to start antibiotics for treating it rather than waiting for a culture to come back or something like that. URIs are relatively common…[Read more]

Male and female rabbit care is identical — the exception would be that females have an astronomically higher rate of reproductive-related cancer (i.e., uterine cancer) than the male counterpart (i.e., testicular); therefore, spaying a female rabbit is generally considered a requirement, while neutering a male rabbit who will be single and is not…[Read more]

Okay, I think she’s starting to get a little dehydrated because her poops are small and lighter now. I gave her all her GI meds and her pain meds because she didn’t seem her self this morning and I don’t wanna take any chances. I decided to mix 3 freshly squeezed oranges with 6-8 cups of water. She willingly takes it by 10ml syringes. Is that…[Read more]
