    Hello,

This is my first time bonding bunnies and I really don’t want to mess it up and cause things to go backwards. I have read what feels like every article written and watched so many videos and have followed all the best advice. However, my female is very shy and she’s seemingly very annoyed with the bonding process.

    Oliver, is a 10 month…[Read more]

Thank you for the response! I thought the same about the fresh grass but I contacted both exotic vets in town and one is a rabbit expert and they both suggested the same thing and said it’s because they were feral and that’s most likely what they would have been munching when not drinking mom’s milk. I slowly introduced pellets and now they love…[Read more]

I am weary of a vet who recommended very young (4-6 week old) rabbits to have raw grass clippings– it is not recommended for rabbits under 6mo. The gut biome is very sensitive and introducing fresh food like that (which is the same category as veggies) is dangerous as the gut biome is not mature enough to break down that material effectively. It…[Read more]

I can’t find a specific topic by the user unfortunate (@Q8bunny), but you can find some responses by the user if you search the following on google:  “site: binkybunny.com q8bunny kuwait”. That will search our website for things including the user and the word Kuwait, and that should hopefully glean some information?

Hello! I recently rescued 2 young bunnies from under my deck. A colony of feral cats live near by and my daughter and I heard screaming for about a week before we saw a cat dragging a baby bunny out! I had no idea it was rabbit screams I assumed it was a mouse or rat… we checked the nest and only two fuzzy babies were left out of the 8-10 we had…[Read more]

I think it’s really up to you. They haven’t been fully bonded yet based on what you described. Doing just several sessions in a neutral space isn’t really enough, you want to see them acting fully bonded in the neutral territory before moving to a less neutral space. This means starting with daily shorter sessions and working up to them spending…[Read more]

Are you able to keep them within sight of each other? That would help a lot.

    Hi there,

I think it’s great you are working to bring them inside. A great starting point is to check out the sections here: https://binkybunny.com/house-rabbit-information/

There is a section on litter training, habitats, bunny proofing, etc.

For litter training, it will be important to get them neutered. Once neutered, most rabbits are pretty…[Read more]

Also note: I know that rabbits shouldn’t necessarily be outdoor pets but my folks are very hard to convince on the subject. They are the type to see an issue with them and go “They’ll get better on their own”. They were semi-convinced because of the recent issue.

Hello! One of my rabbits is going through ‘quarantine’ for around a week. He has a wound and we are monitoring him with vet guidance. We’re avoiding keeping him with his brother but, his brother is confused about where his companion is. How do I help him cope?

    Thanks!

Hello! I don’t know if this forum is right, but the question is essentially what the title states. Here is some background:

My Vet has recommended it, and though I’ve wanted to keep them indoors, my folk opposed it. I have had 2 other rabbits who were outdoors their entire lives . They also were solitary (no pairs) but my current buns (7yr old…[Read more]

Thank you for your reply! I didn’t realize that the warts could stay so small, because all of the photos I see online are really advanced cases. I will monitor it for sure.

Thanks so much for your reply, Bam! I was also considering rabbit syphilis, but not sure how likely it would be (the last time he had contact with other rabbits was 6 months ago, they were two spayed girls <1 that I was fostering). So I don’t know how long it could lay dormant for before signs started to show. I have not seen any other sores on…[Read more]

There is always a risk with ANY animal traveling in cargo. There have been horror stories on the news about neglect and mishandling by airline personnel. I remember one story of a dog escaping and running off on the tarmac. So I can see why people would be concerned.

We did have a member here that flew her bunny from Kuwait to Canada. He had to…[Read more]

Not all papilloma warts get big. Many of them stay quite small. I agree that you should just watch it for changes. They can go away on their own. Or, if it gets bigger, the vet can remove it.
