Hello everyone,
New member here and I could use some advice. Sorry if this gets a bit long, I feel that a back story is needed.
I have a 1 year old spayed Holland Lop “Mushroom” and a 10mth old neutered Dwarf Lionhead “Stitch”.
Mushroom came first and was free roam. When Stitch came unexpectedly ( he had a rough start to life and needed a n…[Read more]

Have you tried any allergy medication, like Children’s Benedryl?
While the culture showed nothing, admittedly due to my experiences with my Wick’s URI, I am a supporter for trying at least another antibiotic before giving up. Wick’s vet at the time didn’t have the resources to do cultures, and in the absence of side effects, we were comfortable…[Read more]

Hello everyone. Every day I am more convinced my rabbit Onyx hates me. She is a 3 month old Netherland dwarf. She will sometimes tolerate me petting her (very rarely) and will sometimes allow me to pick her up. But now she comes up to me get on my lap to dig on me (it doesn’t matter what I am wearing because it’s happen with a bunch of dif…[Read more]

George had chronic URI, nothing, I mean nothing could stop him from being sneezy and having a runny nose. CT scan did not elucidate anything. We assumed he just had chronic allergies which led to infections. The one thing that did hlep was nebulization with saline and acetylcysteine (this latter helped keep his sinuses running), twice daily. We…[Read more]

I understand that, but I always give moist/wet veggies to my bunnies like never dry just to increase water intake. I just thought there was something i was doing wrong lol

Especially if you’ve had her for some time now, she may just be bored of her environment and/or feeling more comfortable/safe to be more exploratory and curious. Just like with children, rabbits can change their preferences, including what they like to do and how they like to do it. I suggest leaning into some anchored toys to redirect that…[Read more]

The suggested daily diet quantities and contents Binkybunny endorses can be found here, if you want to double-check with our recommendations: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/healthy-diet/ — a tablespoon or so is definitely a fine amount and will still provide additional nutrients that he may need.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Bonding is going well, but there are hierarchy issues, feeling a bit stuck. in the forum BONDING 4 years, 7 months ago
As a cautionary approach, I advise not jostling/changing anything in later stages of bonding until there is at least 24hrs of peace in the current arrangement (later stages because in the beginning, there may not be adequate hay resources to sustain 24hr restriction). If 24hrs+ is reached with no tense/negative interactions, then you can try…[Read more]

Unsure of @Ellen ‘s reasoning, but my thought is too much veggies will reduce hay appetite, which we do not want.

I think you can experiment — ultimately you likely need to bore holes in the hood in order to get a sturdy structure through for hanging a hay rack, since those tend to be pulled/dug at by the rabbit, so you want it to be pretty fastened in place. That being said, it may be a hassle to access and refill it.
Please do not do this without proper…[Read more]

Is there a way to install a hay rack in a covered litterbox? I have a hooded box and I can’t put a hay rack by it. My hay rack is also attached to toys, bowls, and a veggie tray (it’s just a little deal I built for her, I call it the rabbit multitool), so it’d be difficult, to say the least, to put it behind a litterbox
And I know there’s some…[Read more]

I like the idea of a second opinion. I plan to take my 2 to a different vet soon (just to get established as patients before they need anything) because I believe she is more knowledgeable about rabbits.
