Yeah, it doesn’t look wet. I agree, the fur could have been rubbed off.

Wick & Fable replied to the topic HELP PREGNANT RABBIT?? BOTH FEMALE?? in the forum BEHAVIOR 4 years, 7 months ago
This can be normal behavior, especially since the cage as a plastic, slick, bottom, so sliding and pushing hay is going to happen pretty natural. Note if you have two intact female rabbits together (assumably young), they likely have what’s called a baby bond, which is a false bond which can dissolve quickly and rapidly upon one of them becoming…[Read more]

If there are no other signs, I’d say this is normal behavior for an un-pregnant rabbit. Rabbits like to dig and rearrange in their living quarters (and in other places as well). If you give them plastic baby keys or stacking cups they tend to like to toss those things around. So this is not a behavior that means a rabbit is pregnant.
If she…[Read more]

All your love and care, her rabbittude, and the good work of the vets brought her back ^_^

Sorry if it wasn’t clear. My main question is if this is nesting behaviour? Or if it’s just normal digging and scratching? I’ve never noticed them do this before. The only info I can find online about nesting is where the rabbit picks hay up in their mouth and carries it to another place but I haven’t seen her do this. I’m just wondering why she…[Read more]

I got a phone call from the vet today, it’s good news. Luna’s liver values are almost back to normal, and her kidney values have improved as well (they won’t go back to normal due to her prior condition).
She says we don’t need to have a re-visit unless of course she becomes unwell again. I’m honestly shocked she made it through this, she was…[Read more]

A couple of thoughts, it could be due to seasonal shedding. Another option is that perhaps she’s chewing on something that runs her mouth as she chews it, such as the cage bars, or a wooden log etc.
The last option would be from it getting wet from basal discharge or drooling, but it doesn’t look wet.

Just wanted to report that Banni is eating normally for the last few days. I think the belly rubs may have been crucial in getting him back to normal.
His patches of skin which I believed was a mite infection have also disappeared.
Thanks Dana and others.
