DanaNM replied to the topic Wet, now dry, and Yellow Patch Under Chin in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 6 months ago
If you only notice it’s wet right after eating wet foods, it could just be juice dripping down while eating (one of my bunnies, Bertha, had a green stain on her dewlap from veggie juice). If it’s persistent wetness, that’s more of a concern.
Do you notice whether he has a wet chin after drinking? I remember one member’s bun was dipping it’s chin…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Irrational fear of aspiration pneumonia? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 6 months ago
I agree that scatter feeding is a good way to prevent this. Choking in rabbits is really rare in any case, even rabbits that eat from bowls.
Remember that what you see on forums is not a representative sample, because people often seek out forums when something bad happens.

@LBJ That’d be Loki. He loves him some baby greens. And brussels sprouts. Also, he loves italian parsley, but not curly. He’ll eat cilantro, but it’s his last choice on the plate.

I think it is OK to let the new bunny exercise in spaces that your other rabbit exercises in, as long as your other bun isn’t there!
Your original bun might show an uptick in marking, but other than that I think he will be OK.
The only thing that would really harm bonding is if they fought, so just be sure they cannot access each other (even to…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Switching bonding locations in the forum BONDING 4 years, 6 months ago
I have often seen a benefit of switching locations, as long as they are similarly neutral. Sometimes if a neutral space gets stale and less neutral before they really work out their relationship, things can stagnate. I wouldn’t expect that to happen over a couple sessions though, usually that’s over multiple weeks. I also think that buns that bond…[Read more]

DanaNM replied to the topic Do I have the right strategy for bonding 4? in the forum BONDING 4 years, 6 months ago
I had an attempted quad and also had a lot of issues with my two boys. In my case I ended up giving up because one of my boys is a senior (he’s now 13), and I just didn’t want to put him through the stress.
I think if large spaces are working, stick with that. I’ve always had better luck with large spaces, and Margo DiMello of the San Diego HRS…[Read more]

Oh, welcome back and hello little monster 😀
I have a little rex monster myself now. 9 months old and so, so soft! And the same white underside as Oscar!

Is it you or the vet who have determined that his testes haven’t yet dropped? I’m asking because a rabbit can “pull in” his testes so you don’t see them. A vet can find them though. At 6 months, a male should have dropped his testes unless perhaps if he’s a very large breed (large breeds mature later).

I cleaned his chin with a warm water and a soft cloth. It looks a lot cleaner now but it is still there. It’s not a complete bald spot, nor is it scaly. The appearance and situation is like the rabbit in this forum https://binkybunny.com/forums/topic/missing-fur-wet-on-underside-of-chinneck/
Since I’ve stopped giving him wet foods, it is no l…[Read more]

Hello,
i had been a member on here previously with 2 little angels who very sadly passed last year and left the biggest hole in my heart.
i decided to take on a little gremlin called Oscar, a beautiful little Velvet Rex. So i am now back and bringing Oscar to the forum.
i hope everybody has been keeping safe and well in my absence.
