Just as the topic says. I wanted to post a lil birthday thread for my bunbuns. They turned 9 years old this month!
In April, they will have been with me for 9 years. โก
They are my lil floofy butts and I am glad they are still with me. 😆
Enjoy some pictures of them throughout the years. โก

Can you try to record this happening? It’s possible it’s not a scream, and could be “clucking” if it’s happening in a relaxed state.

@HoneybunAndElliott – Peachy is fine, so is Coco – the little one introduced in June, they don’t quite get along yet – there really isn’t anything I could be doing in terms of bio safety that I’m not already doing short of going coo-coo bananas with Lysol like some people you’ve probably seen…..Which would do more harm than good. Your experience…[Read more]

Bunnies are ok with hay only diet, in fact this should be 80% of their diet. For few days hay only diet should be fine. Just make sure your bunny is eating plenty of hay and pooping well. I think you caught your bunny on early GI stasis and it recovered.

I am curious to see what another vet says, if it’s possible to get a second opinion. It doesn’t really make sense to me that they wouldn’t be able to remove ovaries only because they’re “underdeveloped” – it sounds like she might not have developed fully as a baby, but that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be able to be spayed. Organs are organs. And I…[Read more]

Last night I was awakened by a tremendous clatter from downstairs, and, being unused to the noise, I didn’t recognize it.ย I booked it downstairs, and found Loki with the honey pot container in his mouth, shaking it and rattling the plastic shapes inside, and having a ball doing so.ย So I’d call this a win.

You may see extra cecals for the next couple of days, but other than keeping him off treats for a little while so he takes in hay and water, he should be fine. It is amazing what rabbits can eat and be okay.

Aww that sounds so similar to what I went through. I’m glad they relaxed upstairs, I saw the same thing with mine. I’m guessing having them out of the picture might help the boys bond more easily too.

Hello everyone, as some of you my know my baby has major frequent GI issues and yesterday she gave me a major scare. All of the sudden her body temperature dropped and she was unresponsive. I gave her all my leftover GI meds, some subQ fluids, and put her under a heating pad and today itโs like nothing happened yesterday. I talked to her usual v…[Read more]

I agree with LBJ10.
Also if you notice that the sound occurs when the male and female interact and she is trying to get away from the male or if the female knows the male is going to attempt to mount they can make a whimping type noise that indicates that they dont want to be mounted by the male anymore. This can idicate they are a little…[Read more]

Thank you for the update! It’s great to hear that the separation is successful in keeping things peaceful for all buns. Indeed, the humping can be normal– just monitor if it gets too intense, includes latching, or becomes a lot of backwards mounting, which can be dangerous (due to a nip down there being damaging).

It’s hard to confirm whether it’s “nightmares” — that being said, screaming definitely merits a veterinary visit. I believe I remember a case where the scream was linked to occasional internal pain occurring in the rabbit that would come and go. I imagine the diagnosis of “nightmares” needs to be a diagnosis of elimination, i.e., it is not…[Read more]

So I have a male Dutch bunny, he is just over a year old. His name is binkie and he is very loving!
Recently, he has been doing some awful short screams ๐ I know that bunnies tend to scream when they are in pain or frightened, which is why I need help. Everytime he screams he is laying down sleeping perfectly fine and doesnโt jump up like he i…[Read more] -

that’s a wonderful idea! i used to sprinkle dried herbs on her pellets when she was a little bit younger because she used to be picky about those as well, now she loves them! thank you so much โก

thank you so much for your advice! i truly appreciate it! this morning i tried offering her the other foods and then giving her green leaf and it seemed to work perfectly. hopefully it remains that way. her pellets seem to meet the requirements in the link you provided, so at least she’s getting lots of nourishment from those! once again, thank youย โก
