henry2809 started the topic Wet nose but okay otherwise? Is this normal? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 6 months ago
Hey everyone! I posted a thread about a week ago about how my rabbit was making a squeaking/whistling sound when he was sniffing (I could only really hear it if I put my ear right up to his nose). It’s been about a week and he is totally normal otherwise – he’s eating, drinking, playing, begging for treats, etc. He does not seem to be having any…[Read more]

Hello everyone,
This is my first time on this forum. I have had my pair of bunnies for the last 5 years and one of them (the chocolate one in my avatar) died suddenly on Saturday. She was healthy, happy, and eating just fine. She had has stasis twice last year but I caught it in time and treated her. I am not sure if she had stasis or not as I…[Read more]

I have never seen this before on my bunnies. Could someone help identify what this could be?
Thanks!

They ARE super soft! I admit I may sometimes bury my face into their fluff. I kinda wonder how they feel when I do that… Prolly wondering why the weird looking bunny keeps doing that. 🤣
But, I think they have just accepted that it’s just 1 of the many weird or annoying things I do. Checking their ears, trimming nails, cleaning the cage,…[Read more]

sometimes he eats more hay sometimes a lot less. Generally he is not a big hay eater. When I got him at 4 months old he’d never had any grass hay before so it took me a long time to get him into eating hay.
he has just finished a big molt but I think he’s starting with a new round again?
I am definitely not going to give him more strawberry tre…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Hay Only Diet in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 6 months ago
A healthy adult rabbit that’s not a giant breed or an angora and who isn’t pregnant or lactating can live very well on a hay-only diet. You should start somewhat slow though, it takes time for the gut microbes to adapt so that all essential nutrients and energy can be extracted from the hay. Human guts rely on both microbes and enzymes to break…[Read more]

Bam replied to the topic Uncontrolled urinating in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 6 months ago
If the problem is recent, it could be due to the increase in daylight that occurs this time of year. I had a neutered male who started marking this time of year. It lasted a few weeks. It only happened one year. Most testosteron is produced by the testes, but when the testes are removed by neutering, there still remains some testosterone…[Read more]
