Hello and thank you for the reply!
That’s the weird thing. He doesn’t appear to be in pain. When he’s had GI stasis before he seemed to hurt but he’s still running around and flopping down and all that. My biggest concern is the change in appetite. I do have some meloxicam from his last bout and i’m not sure if I should give it to him or not…[Read more]

Dorian is still being a little needy and Lillian Mui (she is still in the name adjusting stage) is coming into her own. She’s actually pretty affectionate now that she’s not just scared in her box and eating everything she is given. The two did have an accidental play date yesterday when we were switching who was out and who was in their…[Read more]

That’s great!
Buns don’t tend to get jealous, I think it’s more about changes in routine and a new bun being around.

It sounds like something could be going on. If he is still eating and pooping some, it’s not an emergency yet, but is worth paying attention to. Is he showing any other signs or symptoms of pain?

One thing that helped me a lot (a tip from another member) is to use small 1 mL syringes for critical care.
There is a sweet spot in the mouth that you aim for that will trigger them to kind of chew and swallow. It could be that you aren’t putting the syringe in quite far enough. Put the syringe in through the side of the cheek (aim between the…[Read more]

There is a triple vaccine in Europe, Nobivac Myxo-RHD Plus | European Medicines Agency (europa.eu) It is effective against RVHD1 and RVHD2 and myxomatosis, and it protects for a year. I’ve used it for two of my rabbits. I don’t know if it’d be possible to get it in Saudi Arabia.

I’m sorry Maui still isn’t well.
It doesn’t sound like your vet is trying to scam you. Rabbits are difficult to diagnose and treat. Some ailments, f ex airway infections, need treatment for quite a bit of time. Middle ear infections are extremely difficult to treat with antibiotics, because the antibiotic has trouble reaching the site of the…[Read more]

I’m sorry I don’t have any relevant experience or advice, but just wanted to say it really comes across that you’re very devoted, conscientious, and organized and giving your bunnies a great life. Kudos on that, and good luck with the fur issue! I hope it clears up for you guys.

Yeah, I’ve had the same issues with my buns — they’ve made it clear that they need carpet or secure rugs (rubber-backed or with those kinda sticky rug pads to keep them in place), or no deal. Even then, they’re cautious depending on visibility and other factors as you suggest.
If you have access to an Ikea, they have some good cheap rugs and…[Read more]

Hi some new from Maui, and I’d definetly need you knowledge here.
Well 400$ later and 2 visits to the vet and Maui is still itching and has many problems.
Not gonna lie to you, my next option is the worst one cause I’m out of resources.
I feel like I’m getting scammed by my vet who has a lot of nice reviews on google.
First she prescribed me…[Read more]

When my bunny needed critical care, the only one he willingly ate was papaya flavored. He hated the apple-banana one so maybe you can see if your bunny likes the papaya critical care.

I would get a really long runner to put down so your bunny has a path to make it out into the living area. I assume you probably have an area rug further into the room that your bunny could potentially get to.

Otomax contains an antibiotic and a steroid. The other one is an anti-fungal. Not sure what the Otomax is for. Sometimes vets will prescribe it for an ear infection when there is a lot of swelling. You want to use that with caution though. Topical steroids are not as bad as oral steroids, but they are still steroids.
How long has it been since…[Read more]
